I would submitt that my idea [posted in another thread here] that these ‘observers’ might be assisting Hezbollah in this ‘dispute’ remains a possibility. With Kofi running the U.N. I believe that bolsters my argument.

There is at least one voice of common sense in this mess. Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper has stated that he doubts that the Israelis bombed the UN post deliberately. He says it makes no sense given the cooperation Canada has received in the evacuation of Canadians in Lebanon (including getting Canadians, Americans, Aussies etc out of Tyre). He will get some pressure about saying this but I think Mr. Harper is showing himself to be a rather steadfast friend of Israel.

Mr. Harper also had a good question for the UN: why were the unarmed UN troops still there in an obvious war zone. On that point the BBC website comments that there had been fighting there for 6 hours before the post was bombed. Who were the Israelis shooting at for 6 hours? Nothing? Who knows what happened…were guerrillas taking cover near the post?

I also want to refer you to an interesting link on (a Canadian TV network). A Canadian soldier serving with UNFIL sent a blog about his experiences there. I don’t know if this is the guy who lost his life, but in any event it has some interesting insights. It shows how UNFIL’s function is basically a reporting one (though to who and for what end, who knows?); it also sets out some of the Hezbollah activities observed prior to the current hostilites. It leaves one to wonder what a member of the PPCLI must have thought about being able to do nothing about the things he has been seeing.

That photo on lgf and on Michelle’s sight tells the whole story! Kofi Annan is a dangerous dilettante who likes playing the oh-so-important “man”. He disgusts me and so do those poseurs at the UN!

I’m sorry, but what is the UN doing there again?? Somebody please remind me because I keep forgetting their reason for sitting at the border between Lebanon and Israel. Why is kofi Annan not in handcuffs or in a jail awaiting trial for the stealing of over 40 billion dollars of Iraq Oil for Food aid?

Kofi Annan is a criminal and yet he is still in charge of the United Nations.He is allowed to run a ongoing criminal enterprise with impunity.

It just boggles the mind that the UN continues to be supported by the Idiots in Congress. How much longer are we going to be forced to support this unconstitutional institution against the American peoples will?

It is time for the American People demand that the United Nations be disbanded. Rockefeller’s grand plan for a one world Government is a dismal failure.

Annan’s term is almost up. What will he do? In the grand scheme of things, generally former politicos become “lobbyists”. It could be that Annan’s manufactured outrage is meant to pander to those who will buying his influence after he steps down from the SecGen post. How do I know where he will end up? Simple:if he heads towards the West, he hears noises about procecution for the corruptions he oversaw. But if he heads East, into the arms of Iran and the Muslims, his outrage now helps open that door. Nothing gets you in their club quicker than denouncing Israel. He is probably beholden to them right now. “An honest polititian is one who stays bought.”

The U.N. ……An entity like no other. Terrorist appologists, rapists, murderers, slothful ‘peacekeepers’, all wrapped up in a worldwide clusterf*ck of hidden agendas and nepotism. Driven by ideologies based on deceit and greed they infect and infest all life with-in their slimy reach. Yet their holier than thou attitudes are so narcissistic in nature, they can not and will not see the truth.
Kofi must go. Go away, to hell, I dont care… just go. He is as dangerous as ANY terrorist and can possibly do more damage in the long run.

It’s written that good trees bear good fruit and bad trees bear bad fruit. Kofi Annan has borne no good fruit during his tenure at the UN. He is responsible for the Rwanda massacres, he’s responsible for the deaths of Iraqis during the oil for food program, and he’s responsible for the rapes and molestations of the “peacekeeping” forces deployed around the world. Time to uproot this bad tree and throw him onto the ash heap.
