Well since you asked for examples, here is Kos himself at the Daily Kos explaining why he isn’t going to comment on the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah. His reluctance to comment on this Mideast topic isn’t really based on being neutral (guess which side KOs REALLY favors) but has more to do with his Blogola biz.

A question I have never heard asked by a MSM journalist is, “Were the civilians killed in the Israeli strike related to Hezbollah members?”
CNN has a hard time differentiating between terrorists lobbing missiles haphazardly over the border fully intending to strike innocent civilians. . .and a sovereign nation defending itself by targeting with precision these terrorists and having a few civilians being accidentally killed.
At the cafeteria where I work the TV is tuned almost always to CNN, but for the last couple of days it has been tuned to FOX. A lot of people are getting sick of CNN.

In the Chicago Suntimes the Israeli/Mid East conflict has been buried but we do get front page news and full photo spreads of the Gay Games. (Which by the way, absolutely no one has been attending.)

It been a long time since I believed that the media is either fair or objective.
As I noted in another thread: Douglas Kneeland, then public editor of the Chicago Tribune, published 2 columns in September of 1992. On September 8, he said:
“The Chicago Tribune, as have most of the big newspapers and a good many smaller ones, has moved steadily over the last decade toward writing stories that give context and perspective to the most important news. Instead of just laying out one purported fact after another, we have increasingly tried to explain and analyze to give your our best understanding of the truth to which those facts add up.
“This is not something new. The weekly news magazines have been doing it since their beginnings, often especially in their earlier years, with what, frequently seemed to be transparent points of view. With cable television and other 24-hours sources of immediate news available, the major newspapers have more and more turned to putting out daily something resembling the old weekly news magazines in content, heavy on behind-the-scenes reporting, explanation and analysis, but hopefully without the overtones of partisanship.
“. . . Sometimes we are not as shophisticated as we should be and allow gratuitous opinion to substitute for needed context and factual wisdom. We must avoid point of view and polemics.” [any typos are mine]
The contempt that the “mainstream” media has for *us* knows no bounds.
