I love Bill O’Reilly’s pose as a leftist journalist, taking the “Blame Israel First” position. Coming from him, the adversarial questions are just the proper occasions for Gillerman to rehearse the arguments. From the standpoint of a real leftwing journalist, O’Reilly’s “mistake” would be that he kept letting Gillerman actually answer the questions.

Gillerman’s style reminds me of Benjamin Netanyahu, except that Netanyahu would have been leaning forward, angrily, as if he could barely restrain himself from taking a bite out of the interviewer’s face. I miss Netanyahu; Gillerman must suffice.

I heard this interview last night on satellite radio and my first thoughts were: Israel is going to kick ass. Israel backs up their words with action. We could probably just let Israel deal with it – seems like they can hold their own. And, this guy speaks frankly, with truth and without all the politically correct b.s.

I wish our politicians did the same.

One of the reasons the rabid left hates Israel. Israel’s representatives tend to be straight talkers and have the courage, spine, and comviction of their countrymen and women. That is an anthema to the Left in this country.
