You can blame whoever you want. But the fact remains the right thing to do is move against these regimes with brutal force. If Bush doesn't, that means dems in Congress, the MSM and libs are successfully running our foreign policy, while out of power! And it also means Bush is one big pussy.

How quickly we forget! Just a few years ago, back when Bush had the full support of the American people and we had sucessfully invaded Iraq, the countries of the Middle East were in no mood to tangle with our forces. Since then we have had the MSM, the Democrats in Congress, and the Clintoon Shadow government working feverishly to make certain that this win would be turned into an American loss comparable to Viet Nam. Thanks to their successful effort today a majority of Americans no longer support the war on terror.

Do not blame Bush for not rushing in to assure that terrorist supporting nations don't proliferate. Blame those working to assist terrorists by giving them a break.

Well you can try to negotiate and lead a coalition to fight the real war on terror. Or, in addition to Iraq--and isn't that going swell!!--we can unilaterally take on Iran, Hamas/Palestine, Hezbollah/Lebanon, Syria, Afghanistan, North Korea, Venezuala. Oh and if we're honest, Saudi Arabia.

That's today's list, likely to expand to terror cells in Egypt and Jordan. On the plus side, getting bin Laden may be easier, he is in real danger of laughing himself to death.

A really telling moment this AM--Bush and Putin making a pre G8 joint statement, taking questions. Bush is asked if he is giving Putin hell re the return of the authoritarian model in Russia. Bush answers diplomatically, well we would prefer yada, yada, yada, but we understand that democracy is different in Russia than it is in the US. Putin, with a smirk, adds, "and very different from democracy in Iraq." Laughter from the audience. Judas priest.

Inadvertent premature submit. To continue:

And which is it? "that might mean negotiating directly with regimes he abhors"? Or "By all means, rely on multilateral pressures"?

"Fear of what the United States might do." You mean it's possible the United States might want to remove a corrupt Communist dictator whose people are suffering? Wow, I never knew! A dictator who puts nuke launchers on the pad to protect his own corrupt hide and "administration"? Wow, I never knew!

What idiocy.

Because "leading like a superpower" involves giving North Korea exactly what it has demanded for calling off the dogs--one-on-one with the United States? Thus implying that our backs might be against a wall? Which they are not? Because "leading like a superpower" involves talks from which we dismiss our allies and give rise to speculation that we could abandon S. Korea or another Pacific nation in establishing a deal with N. Korea?

North Korea is only putting its own back further to the wall. It's now Saruman in the tower, trying to shove the U.S. into the bathroom for a quick and dirty conference while the peons await their decision outside. Talk about inspiring confidence abroad.

Allah, thanks for posting one more time the Hillary 'coronation' picture. I never tire of seeing it. What an insult to laurel leaves.

On the topic, I always wonder what John Kerry would now do...

Kini

Bush still has the only tool he needs to deal with Syria and Iran. It's called the USAF. He can't let Kos and the MSM run our foreign policy and national defense.

Israel has it's hand full in a 2 front war. As their ally, we should step up and deal with Syria and Iran. And I mean bludgeon the crap out of both of them.

That's the thing ain't it.

The threats are given, the line is drawn. Who will blink.

Remember, Bush keeps getting his terrorism tools stolen.

It's hard to fight a fight when the rules keep changing.

Or in this case, armchair'ed.

I agree, but that being said he should do the right think and end Iran's nuke program.

I cannot believe he's turned into such a pussy that he's going to let Israel do our dirty work for us.

You might be right. Maybe Bush doesn't have the balls for pre-emption any more. But quite possibly he'll go crazy with the red button once Iran or Syria launch a first strike. Who knows. Between this and immigration, I gave up on the idiot 6 months ago.

You hit the nail on the head.

I cannot believe anyone thinks Iran's only goal is to get a Nuke to take out Israel and then us.

What is he waiting for, a nuclear strike?

Do you think Kos has Bush's balls hanging on his nightstand?

Or are they kept locked in a secret nutroots vault somewhere in San Fransico, along with McCain's brain and Arlen Spector's spine?

Well he was doing a better job... I think somebody stole his balls (and his spine). And the only logical guilty party would be the nutroots. I find it hard to believe that he would be stupid enough to listen to them... but apparently he did. Wish they'd grow enough of a brain to realize they need to give him his back...

Still, the truth remains. Bush has been completely impotent when it comes to Iran and Syria. Both countries are funding terror worldwide. Both countries are inflaming the middle east. Both countries are directly responsible for deaths of US soldiers in Iraq. And yet, for whatever reason, Bush does not have the balls to deal with the situation. He is doing a TERRIBLE job in the war on terror, as he allows the two largest terrorist countries on the planet to operate with complete impunity. And one of those countries will have a nuke very shortly, on Bush's watch.

What an idiot. There are reasons for the current approach. Re: Iran - Bush has gotten the Euors on board so they feel slighted when Iran does its ridiculous maneuvers. This is the only way to get the Euros to go along with any sort of sanctions. Otherwise they carp from the sidelines about what we are doing wrong and negotiate trade deals with Iran. With NK, they will not abode by any agreement unless China forces them. So not having China on board at the beginning is a giant mistake.

We can talk to Iran/NK one-on-one all we want, but we simply don't have the leverage (short of a bombing campaign) to get what we want. So we HAVE to include these other countries.

I think people like Hirsh have some fantasy idea that negotiations are about reaching a "fair" agreement.
