A really telling moment this AM–Bush and Putin making a pre G8 joint statement, taking questions. Bush is asked if he is giving Putin hell re the return of the authoritarian model in Russia. Bush answers diplomatically, well we would prefer yada, yada, yada, but we understand that democracy is different in Russia than it is in the US. Putin, with a smirk, adds, “and very different from democracy in Iraq.” Laughter from the audience. Judas priest.

And which is it? “that might mean negotiating directly with regimes he abhors”? Or “By all means, rely on multilateral pressures”?

“Fear of what the United States might do.” You mean it’s possible the United States might want to remove a corrupt Communist dictator whose people are suffering? Wow, I never knew! A dictator who puts nuke launchers on the pad to protect his own corrupt hide and “administration”? Wow, I never knew!

North Korea is only putting its own back further to the wall. It’s now Saruman in the tower, trying to shove the U.S. into the bathroom for a quick and dirty conference while the peons await their decision outside. Talk about inspiring confidence abroad.

Bush still has the only tool he needs to deal with Syria and Iran. It’s called the USAF. He can’t let Kos and the MSM run our foreign policy and national defense.

Israel has it’s hand full in a 2 front war. As their ally, we should step up and deal with Syria and Iran. And I mean bludgeon the crap out of both of them.

The threats are given, the line is drawn. Who will blink.

We can talk to Iran/NK one-on-one all we want, but we simply don’t have the leverage (short of a bombing campaign) to get what we want. So we HAVE to include these other countries.

I think people like Hirsh have some fantasy idea that negotiations are about reaching a “fair” agreement.
