America is determined not to “go it alone” with Iran or Korea. So all we can do is go to the UN, which accomplishes nothing.
The UN is worthless because the worst murderers, rapist, and human rights abusers are a part of it and all have a vote. They will always block us.
Maybe when half the Middle east is a glowing crater from Irans peacefull nukes, Maybe when S. Korea is gone and Japan glows, and Taiwan have been reunited with mainland china, maybe, just maybe then their will be a few changes in the UN’s charter.

its a little like iraq; exhaust diplomacy then shock and awe them
the UN will enver agree with it unless we chat with China/Russia and promise them they can heavily involved in the rebuilding (big bucks)

Well, we’ll never get the UN to agree on anything (anywhere) with Russia and China in on it. How about NATO? Can they make some kind of binding resolution? I’m not a fan of sanctions, since they really only hurt the poor. But could NATO say ‘stop enriching, or we’ll start bombing on Aug. 15th’ or something?

Ms. Rice said that such a step would not rule out any chance at negotiations, and she suggested that there would be no quick push for sanctions or other punishments.
“If we go to the Security Council, we’ll take our time in terms of putting together the best response,’’ Ms. Rice said, according to The Associated Press.

Someone needs to teach the mediocre Secretary of State Rice some leadership lessons (can apply to teaching, business, and CERTAINLY a leader of the most powerful country in the world: Don’t threaten consequences and/or give deadlines if you have no intention of following through! She knows China and Russia will block any Security Council resolution with teeth (and so does Iran). In her two years as Secretary of State, she has completely undermined our credibility gained by the liberation of Iraq.

Iran is like a teenager with car keys. They will be as crazy as they think they can get away with without being ‘grounded’.
Here’s a few dots to connect:North Korea’s strings are being pulled by China. Iran seems to be working in concert with North Korea-is China pulling Iran’s strings also? Could it be like it was in WWII when Japan and Germany each wanted to reign supreme, but worked together to defeat the rest of the world? Do Iran and China think they are duping each other?

China and Russia both see too much upside to an Islamic war against the West… as they don’t consider themselves part of the west.

Both are selling arms, and getting oil contracts, from Middle Eastern coutries because those same countries don’t want to deal with the West…

Both will block any Security Council move, just as they did with North Korea.

Iran, is now ratcheting up the Israeli problem with Lebanon… so the West’s focus is on that crises, instead of Iran’s nuc ambitions.

Time for a bit of Cowboy diplomacy here folks… Dam, where are the Earps and Doc Holliday when ya need em…
