Speaking of Hollywood, did anyone else see parts of the movie Errol Flynn made in Cuba in the late 1950′s? I caught it on the History Channel, I think. He was communist-lite, way over the hill-imagine Alec Baldwin in about 5 years. He scraped together a bit of money and went down to Cuba to document Castro’s ‘noble struggle’-and was actually ‘embedded’ with the rebels. A bum actor dissolute with alcohol had a front row seat for Castro’s rise to power. He had a girl with him, and to make some money wrote a cardboard movie for her to star in using the Castro footage as the story.
I guess a present day equivalent would be if Sean Penn, for example, would have gone to Iraq right before we invaded and…oops.

If were true, all of hollywood would be at the funeral, the left wing demorats (Jimmah Karter on the front pew),
Momma Sheehan, Jesse and Teddie, the entire black caucus of the Congress, etc. But, with Raul assuming the reins, nothing will change. The fix is in. Just keep it in the family until the “People” finally stand up and fight!!

Irony-yeah, that’d be a jagged little pill to have to swallow.
I like the sound of Cuba Libre. Russia’s communists kept on failing for 70 years before they busted. Cuba should be relieved of it’s burdensome dictator,taken in as a prodigal child, and rebuilt as a democracy. If it’s good enough for Iraq, it’s should happen to Cuba, too.

If it is true, things will get real ugly. All of the,now prosperous, exiles will be trying to regain their birthright while those that stayed behind are too poor for lawyers to fight for what is theirs. Then you will have Raul Castro trying to live up to Brother Fidel’s legacy and it just might get out of hand and another bloody revolution will unfold. There will be no winners here.
