Bruce Willis, 9/11 Truther?

**Update 7/14: Willis denies being a Truther.**
This is like Schwarzenegger converting to Islam.
Can’t be. Can’t. $#%!ing. be:
Linklater said he had handed out DVD’s on set which carried claims that 9/11 was perpetrated by the US government to erect a police state to Bruce Willis, one of the stars of Linklater’s upcoming Fast Food Nation.
“He said it put him in such a head space that he will be quiet on issues of national policy.”
Linklater said Willis had told him in an e mail that the videos had changed his entire political paradigm.
First, I know I speak for everyone when I say how stunned I am to find Truther retard propaganda being circulated on Hollywood sets.
What’s next? Drugs?
But I digress.
How is it, exactly, that a dude righteous enough to make a movie out of Michael Yon’s book could have his brain turn so easily to oatmeal?
If he was going to start believing the plots of his own movies, why the hell did he have to pick The Siege?
I e-mailed Michael Yon to see if he knew what the deal was. Mensch that he is, he said he’d e-mail Willis and ask. Might be awhile before he hears back, so stay tuned.
Truly, truly distressing, though. Dare I say it, it’s driven me to Sullivanesque depths of despondency. And on the very day when I’ve been soaring over America having recaptured its very soul.
Coming in 2007: Die Hard 5, in which McClane discovers that Alan Rickman and the giant Aryan were just fall guys for a Zionist illuminati shadow government.
Right-wing Truther-iness? LGF says the design for the Flight 93 memorial looks exactly the same as it did when the ruckus first started, lo those many crescent moons ago. And it sort of does. It’s still a crescent, although it’s been closed up a bit and it’s broken in one place.
They’re calling it “the Bowl” now.
I followed CJ’s link to Error Theory for more detail, annnnd…
Let me choose my words carefully here.
I think any crescent-y design is a bad idea. In fact, I’ve goofed on it before. But. The whole bisector/pointing-towards-Mecca thing has always struck me as having a whiff of the ol’ Loose Change about it, if you know what I mean.
A good rule of thumb is: if you need a protractor to properly express your outrage, you’ve probably gone too far.
Here’s the before and after graphic Alec’s posted to show the memorial’s orientation towards Mecca:
Here’s how it looks to me:
Am I wrong? If you scroll down a bit in his post, you’ll see that he has another bisector which supposedly points … towards the White House.
I’m just going to wrap it up here before I say anything else.
Update (9/25/08): Alec Rawls says I’m wrong about the memorial’s orientation. Read his full analysis here.
