Perhaps it’s time to use their own propaganda tools against them.

You’ve got it exactly right. I think a lot of the problem with all the mindless sympathy that the terrorists are getting is because the abject horror of their atrocities is rigorously whitewashed and hidden from public view.

That’s a huge mistake on our part, IMHO. It deludes the public by masking our enemy’s barbarity. That barbarity is exactly what needs to be seen. But it’s not seen because it will ‘offend’ delicate sensibilties. The delicate NEED to be offended. It solidifies resolve. It provides clarity and proper contrast.

It’s like the same kind of utterly wrong-headed thinking that’s now espousing not calling fat children ‘obese’, because it’s ‘mean’ to do so. That kind of coddling encourages self-delusion and exacerbates the problem, and promotes a lifelong victim mentality (and lots more problems down the road for both the child and society).

There’s way too much victim mentality in this world right now. Islam is making it an artform. People need to accept that there are consequences for actions and that they must bear the responsibility of those actions.

Along with showing the atrocities, as you rightly say, we need to contrast that horror with the very good and effective things we’re doing to stop and defeat this dispicable enemy and free oppressed people.

In an earlier and more sane time we’d have hollywood and our MSM to help communicate the urgency of the situation and sway public opinion. But right now both of those institutions are demonstrably on the side of our enemy. Thankfully, those media dinosaurs are more and more being exposed, discredited, and ignored.

These days it’s much easier for oridinary people to produce these kinds of materials and distribute them for global consumption thru sites like this and others. That’s exactly what’s beginning to happen and it needs to happen a whole lot more.

Apologies for the long rant, but I needed to get that off my chest.
