Recount confirms conservative won Mexican election

He was barely ahead after the initial tally, and after the recount he was … still barely ahead. True to leftist form, his opponent is promising a court fight. With any luck the election result will be confirmed by a 5-4 vote of the Mexican Supreme Court and Marxist morons can spend the next four years chanting “selectado, no electado.”

The margin of victory?

Votes from Mexico’s arid north, home to tough ranchers and hard-working entrepreneurs, were crucial in conservative Felipe Calderon’s photo-finish presidential election victory on Thursday.

Cowboys, baby. It was the cowboys who put him over the top.

Calderon says he’ll celebrate tonight, then get to work on keeping his campaign promise of sneaking the entire Mexican population into the United States.

Look out, it aint over… there are allegations of a pretty broad voter fraud out there…

Just little things… like more votes counted than they had ballots… more ballots cast than registered voters for that area… the disenfranchisement of the 10 million or so legal mexican voters here in America (only like 45K got to vote even though the administration was supposed to make it easy…)….

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Diebold knows no borders.

Hmmmm….

USA 2000

Germany 2005

Mexico 2006

…anyone notice a trend? :-)

The DUmmies at the Democratic Underground threw a conniption fit over the election results in Mexico. I know of a certain blog that chronicled this reaction but must not succumb to my link whore temptations. Must not…give in…to my…inner link whore…

And Lopez Obrador’s campaign promise was??? What we have here is the lesser of two evils… if Calderon can hang on.

Aunt B on July 6, 2006 at 5:01 PM

Venmax, you forgot Italy. Canada was exceptionally close too the last time.

Funny, how the liberals validate democracy only if their candidate wins, even just by 1 vote (even though it might belong to a dead person). See Washington’s gubernatorial fiasco. They just love to count, recount, dimples and imanined ones, until their person is ahead. The H–l with all else.

They probably will cause a few death before this is over and the MSM will give them a brake, no matter.

They know instinctively and by count that they’ve lost but they intend to cripple the winner in the process and put him/her on the defensive for concessions, and to prove that they are still relevant.

Either one believes in democracy or one doesn’t! Have our media learned this in their journalism studies?

CDS (Calderon Derangement Syndrome) has just hatched. It’s all Ann Coulter’s fault. And Karl Rove’s.

Entelechy on July 6, 2006 at 5:01 PM

Hmmm… I don’t think you understand that the ONLY way to stop the Bush North America one government move… and actualy protect this country, is if the LEFT candidate wins down there.

The current Party in Power in Mexico is part of the Bush cabal which is forcing an open border (or at least no border enforcement) down the throat of the American people…

As opposed to Lopez Obrador? What did he pledge, charter buses?

Kid from Brooklyn on July 6, 2006 at 5:18 PM

Kid from Brooklyn,

one should never wish a quasi communist government on anyone else, not the least as a neighbor. We don’t need a Chavez at such a long border.

We can take care of Bush, not to worry. He’s getting the message on immigration, louder than he or his cronies are willing to admit, yet.

Entelechy on July 6, 2006 at 5:24 PM

Kid from Brooklin, my sincere apologies, I meant to address Romeo13 – so sorry!

Entelechy on July 6, 2006 at 5:27 PM

Just because a Conservative has been elected doesn’t mean any of Mexico’s corruption problems will go away.

You still have a lesser of two… evils…

Kini on July 6, 2006 at 5:29 PM

Entelehcy… sorry, but when I see Karl Rove going to address La Raza… they are NOT getting the messege…

Romeo13 on July 6, 2006 at 5:31 PM

My sources running Mexican Deer hunting leases say Obrador was a real commie and would have messed up land ownership for some of the land owners below Nuevo Laredo. They say Obrador would be real trouble for us.

Shmo on July 6, 2006 at 5:36 PM

Damn, why don’t we just annex Mexico and Canada and get over with? Maybe central America too. It seems that everyone wants to come to America to get economic and political freedom anyway so why not take America and the freedoms out to the world? Of course, leftists will go nuts with this idea not because they don’t want world government but they want a UN socialist/dictatorship kind of world government. We can preempt them by get there first with the American republic form of government.

docdave on July 6, 2006 at 6:06 PM

docdave, yes, what they want is a socialist world government;

my friends from Vienna/Austria write with great satisfaction that at this time of the year the outdoor cafes and restaurants are full of Muslims next to Christians, Jews next to Muslims; the streets are full of beautiful western women, alongside fully clad women from Yemen. They believe that only Mr. Bush stands in the way of such world-wide Nirvana.

They have no idea that a Taliban- or Quaeda-dude wouldn’t peacefully join them for coffee.

Entelechy on July 6, 2006 at 6:40 PM

My fiance is a legal Mexican American. She says that if the commie won, a lot of her friends would be fleeing across the border uninvited, despite having a fairly comfortable life there. We wonder if they’d be considered illegal immigrants like most Mexicans, or refugees like most Cubans?

Savage on July 6, 2006 at 8:12 PM

actually, the Marxist chant would be more like “selecto, no electo”

Kid from Brooklyn on July 6, 2006 at 8:17 PM

Kini said it best, the lesser of two evils is still EVIL. Instead of Hugo Chavez on our Southern Border we get Vicente Fox part Deuce (rhymes with swoosh : )

America1st on July 6, 2006 at 8:29 PM

Yea right, ALL THAT VOTER FRAUD that happens when they have a PHOTO ID of you already and you have to prove to them who you are and then they compare you to the photo, like in Mexico. Voting there ain’t like here, where democrats even encourage illegal people to vote.

The socialist liberal losers can’t even win in Mexico. How pathetic they are.
