He has a radical base of the millions who attended his campaign rallies, masses who convinced themselves that they were too numerous to lose. As with the exaggerated power of Internet activists in our own recent elections, the illusion leads to disillusion when confronted with the reality of the ballot box. Will radical anger turn violent in Mexico?

I recall after the Dem convention in CT that Lieberman was ahead something like 57-32, but haven’t seen any recent numbers, which makes me think that’s about where Mentos Man will be topping out at. I know the Koslamists will consider that a victory, but it will just give us something else to laugh at them about.

is real on the hapless left side of the aisle. Thank God for the DemoRats, they are the only thing we have going for us.

But, with Joe set to slap down the Kos Nutroots, and with Obama and Hillary lecturing the left about needing to acknowledge the religious sensibilities of Americans…I think some Dems are realizing that they misplayed their hand yet again. And the NY Times PR disasters are not helping.

Treason doesn’t sell as well as it did in the 60s…

Via AllahPundit (pixels be unto him) at HotAir, I see that MSNBC is televising a one-time-only debate between Joe Lieberman and Ned Lamont.

Try as I might, I can’t bring myself to care enough to watch it. The whole Lamont vs. Lieberman primary story will simply boil down to whether Senator Joe Lieberman returns to Congress calling himself a Democrat or an Independent Democrat.

The debate doesn’t matter, because Lamont can’t beat Joementum in a general election, and everyone—well, everyone who is not “reality-based”—knows that. Much more intriguing are the side issues:

Will Jane Hamsher have an aneurysm before the primary, or will she wait until after Lieberman’s reelection?Will Kos consider Lamont’s loss as going 0-20-1, or more like 0-19-2?If Lieberman trounces Lamont by double-digits in the general election (and I seriously hope it does go to the general election, just to up the ante), will the DNC llok at the next roots, slap them selves in the head, and ask “What was I thinking?” before deciding to ignore them in ’08?

Such are the questions that cross my mind when thinking about this election.

Maybe the Fairly Odd Parents will be on instead.

Moderator: “Mr Lamont, what is your view on the economy.”

Lamont: “Well, Bush lied, and kids died, and I know this one person who has an unemployed son…and if it wasn’t for Halliburton, oil…Enron…….stolen election…facists…….imperialism……”

Friendship, support for Liebs’s policies, and/or secret fear and loathing for the nutroots’s influence? You make the call!

And thus, the beginning of the end of the Democratic Party.

Some hopes….

Hillary can’t just abandon Lieberman completely though, let him eat cake.

I’m personally moving to Connecticut and registering as a Democrat just to do my part.

In the near future, I hope to see Lamont run for – and win – the Presidency.

Why?

Because he’s really, really funny. The entertainment factor of watching the Koolest of the Kos Kiddies actually serving as a Senator is almost inestimable; Lamont is like a walking joke that just keeps getting funnier. I want years of Kos Kommercials and patented nipple twisting.

And, of course, there’s even a tasty side benefit: when marching moonbats like Lamont actually serve in office, the whole world sees what liberals actually think and act like. Nothing on Earth (except Michael Moore and Cindy Sheehan) would be more effective in electing Republicans than having Lamont become a sitting Senator and serious Presidential candidate.

But my own interests are much more selfish – I just like laughing at him and his Mentos Munching Mob of followers.
