USA Today to AQ: OK to use BellSouth, Verizon

posted at 10:04 am on June 30, 2006 by Allahpundit

They’re eating shinola on their NSA data-mining story from last month:

Based on its reporting after the May 11 article, USA TODAY has now concluded that while the NSA has built a massive domestic calls record database involving the domestic call records of telecommunications companies, the newspaper cannot confirm that BellSouth or Verizon contracted with the NSA to provide bulk calling records to that database.

Semi-related: Supposedly, Nancy Pelosi wants to replace Jane Harman with Alcee Hastings as the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee. Here’s Hastings on yesterday’s anti-blabbermouth resolution:

“You know better than to seek to amend the First Amendment.”

And here, for comparison purposes, is your headline of the day.

Blowback

Is Pelosi a card carrying moonbat? Hastings instead of Harman?
I guess that is what happens when you leave the plantation.

Yeah, well he’s my representative.
WHAT A POS!
I remember when he was a judge and he was not too well-liked then.
We all thought he was a goner with his conviction then the gerrymandering of dhimmicr@p S. Florida put him in a solidly black area in Broward Co. that stretches for 20 miles or so into Palm Beach Co. and Voila!, he’s my rep.

Ever try talking to a brick wall? Banging your head against? You cannot know unless you experience it for yourself! I cannot continue to discuss him without profanity, so I MUST STOP NOW!
Did I mention he’s a POS?

Republican Senator Susan Collins of Maine, who heads the Homeland Security Committee, agrees. Harman “believes very strongly in national security and helps to correct what has been a weakness for a lot of Democrats”

What’s left of the Democrats is only a carricature. They are almost gleeful to be against the security or success of their country or they portray it as sinful to be for. They sure make John Kennedy proud. Punish the sane ones, oh yeah!

Shameful!

No one is happier than C. Rove about the leaks and the SCOTUS decision of yesterday. Now the Republicans have an open forum to show they are for America and its protection. Here’s hoping they make good use of it.

Alcee Hastings???

Isn’t he the fool who can’t even spit out a single sentence without saying “uh uh uh uh” at least fifty times?

Ugh…

Alcee Hastings, for the record, used to be a federal judge. He was impeached and convicted by a Democratic-run House and Senate in the late 1980s, as I recall.

It was a fascinating case, raising a whole bunch of core constitutional issues, but there’s little doubt the guy was a skunk.

More info on Hastings is here.
