Israel has delayed a ground invasion of the northern Gaza Strip, security officials said Thursday. Israel invaded southern Gaza on Wednesday to try to win the release of a captured Israeli soldier.

It has signaled it would broaden the campaign soon to include the north, massing forces along the border.

At a meeting of security officials, Defense Minister Amir Peretz said significant diplomatic developments were possible, but did not indicate whether there had been a breakthrough, the officials said.

They spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to discuss policy with the media.

It also makes one understand why the Palestinians are despised by the rest of the Arab World aka cesspool!

It’s because we value life and we know that with strength comes responsibility. I have a sick feeling that the restraint we’ve been showing for many years is about to end.

Half measures and negotiations will never work with a culture that exists only to kill Jews. You cannot deal with people who have had survival and self-interest bread out of them. If there was a deal to be had, they’d have found it over the last 40 years. Any culture that cannot stand on its own and cannot stop attacking the host that it feeds on will eventually die.

It’s a question of how and when, not whether. If the IDF doesn’t do it, they’ll eventually do it to themselves.

I don’t see any evil in hoping for it to happen sooner rather than later. That way, the Eliahu Asheris of the world get to live.
