Professor B: I have no doubt that you are correct for the great majority of those involved. But I can't help but point out that the only grieving families that the MSM has ever wanted to hear from are not affected by this nonsense in any way.

"And the liberal nutjobs don’t care about the pain they cause"

Sorry Professor, your too kind.

I think these "nutjobs" don't give two shits about the families of 9/11. As Anne Coulter has shown, they will do anything if it furthers their cause.

do you really think that except for the few that may be deranged from the incident that they, the WTC families, take this stuff serious?

No - not at all. Let me clarify.

Whereas the rest of us can just laugh at the conspiracy fools, I suspect that for the families of the victims, the joke isn't very funny. I'd guess that seeing the thousands of people who buy these ridiculous stories yakking on the Internet, trying to convince people that their loved ones were killed as part of some bizarre plot, probably causes the families a lot of pain.

I can't imagine how they feel about the assertion that their loved ones actually flew to Cleveland and are still hidden in some underground bunker.

The point is that as ridiculous as it is - it probably enrages the families. Because some idiots do believe this stuff, and its a mockery of the actual victims.

I can’t imagine the pain this reckless moonbattery must cause them
prof, do you really think that except for the few that may be deranged from the incident that they, the WTC families, take this stuff serious? I can believe that the government is occassionally involved with distorting the truth e.g. TWA 800, but when the entire episode of WTC is played out on live tv you have to be some kind of a delusionary insane nut to believe that this was some kind of conspiracy.

You know, this whole thread is funny and we can all mock the goofball tinfoil conspiracy whackjobs.

But I'll bet it's not funny to the families of the 3,000 dead.

OK OK THE TRUTH. Elvis and Jimmy Hoffa went to Wyoming(fireworks are legal there) and I , yes me ,I saw them purchase lots and lots of BIG fireworks. They boarded a pretty big plane and flew it themselves to New York. They were tired of hiding out for so long and just wanted to end it all.
So if they went out (really this time) in a big way, no-one would know to look for those two. But sadly, now they really are gone. sniffles.
Really, I SAW IT ALL !!!
Oh wait, they flew two planes , one each.

I love it how the Dems are looking for religious figures who are willing to lead a movement to destroy religion.

Perfect. Just perfect. Jesus Christ was a 1960s social worker out to "help his fellow man". Howie excels at explaining where liberals are.

I am not an engineer, but wasn't the WTC designed to take the impact of a 747 flying at a much lower speed? Was the 747 able to fly as fast as the 767's top speed?

The 767 did not exist back then, so how can someone foresee the creation of the 767 and design a building based on specifications that did not exist back then and without experimentation? Or could they have?

And why would Pres Bush go to such extremes as destroying the WTC just to go to war? He could have used "strategery" to come up with a less dramatic and less damaging plan for a reason to invade Iraq.

Pullingmyhair,

The fact that many saw the planes went in real time does not deter the nutcases from sliming Bush with this conspiracy cr$p. But the major conspiracy theory circled around some one planted a bomb inside the Twin Towers to bring it down. They claimed that the heat could not have brought down the towers. I just point out that the Twin Towers would have collapsed for sure with the weight of the planes in it, adding the heat and bad design. Almost none of the articles I have read included the weight of a 767 in their discussion.

Remember some nuts said the Apollo missions were all fabricated in a studio? I am not sure how we can place a laser reflector on the moon if we have not been there.

Nuts..and they wear tin hats too...

I can't believe this is even a topic of conversation. I SAW the second plane go into the building on live t.v. My husband was talking on the phone to someone in the second tower when the plane hit.
these conspiracy people are absolutely nuts. they need to take some prozac and move on.

Probably more of a response than they deserve.

“How to slit your wrists with Occam’s Razor”

HA ha ha ... now that's funny.

Since when do liberals care about Occam's Razor? Try this one: say liberals lose the elections in 2006. Two explanations:

1) A vast right-wing/zionist conspiracy fueled by finances from Halliburton and PNAC and directed by Vice-President Cheney from his underground lair utilized top secret military sattelites to scramble signals to Diebold voting machines and encrypted a code developed by the Chinese with the help of the NSA to subtly tweak voting results and give Republicans a victory

OR

2) Democrats lost.

Now, which does Occam choose?

And which do you think the flock of liberal sheep will almost all choose, regardless of fact or thought or evidence?

Occam's Razor and liberals. (snort). That'd be a new one.

HA ha ha … now that’s funny.

Since when do liberals care about Occam’s Razor? Try this one: say liberals lose the elections in 2006. Two explanations:

Allah, don't you wish you had access to the computers and software these guys think the government used to alter live video feeds? Just think what you could do with a graphics setup that could overlay a 767 on multiple live video feeds without letting anyone at the videos source know you were doing it.

I find it fascinating that whenever someone bursts one of their conspiracy bubbles, they expand into new territory rather than reevaluating their original idea. "No planes! OK, remote control planes! It was Rove flying remote control planes! It was Rove, controlled by aliens, flying remote control planes (with holographic disguises) into a building secretly primed for remote detonation. Yea, that must be the truth..."

"Let’s all hope the NYT and LAT finish catching all the terrorists soon so we can get these folks the help they badly need."

Another reason not to want National Health Care... there isn't enough money in the treasury to cure these people.

And the NYT and LAT times considers them "insurgents" not terrorist... that would be profiling!

I love it how the Dems are looking for religious figures who are willing to lead a movement to destroy religion.

Astounding, I just read the entire article referred to in the
first update. How is it possible that an individual who writes as intelligently and clearly as the author fails to see the truth? It was a laugh riot at first but now I'm just left saddened by the sheer waste of effort by these people. Let's all hope the NYT and LAT finish catching all the terrorists soon so we can get these folks the help they badly need.

In the film I recalled they also cited the collision of a bomber into the Empire State Building but since the building was basically constructed of concrete over steel beams the building suffer no permenant damage. The comparison was made to emphasize the weakness in the design of the Twin Tower.

To put that in perspective, the Empire State Building was hit by a B-25 going maybe 300 mph. The B-25 was 50' long, had a wingspan of 70', and a maximum take off weight of about 40,000 pounds.

The 767 hit the Trade Center at close to 600mph, were 200' long with a wingspan of 170', and a max. take off weight of 450,000 pounds. They also were carrying about 20,000 gal of fuel.

I doubt the Empire State Building would have weathered that impact quite as well.
