1. Tibetans would argue the land-grab point. China has eliminated most of the monasterys in Tibet, moved in Chinese settlers to a majority, changed the language of Tibet to Chinese, and is building transport systems to move the raw materials of Tibet back to the industry of China. Monks who refuse to sign statements against the Dali Lama suffer severe fate or death.

Unrestricted Warfare is chilling because it suggested years before 911 the bombing the of World Trade Center, or attacks by Bin Laden as assaults that penetrate the weakness of America’s defenses. By the time of this book, China was already entering mutual agreements with the Taliban in Afghanistan, and Bin Laden. On the other hand, if you keep buying the cotton, you can’t criticize the plantation. China does use slave labor. Our middlemen take obscene profits. And Americans keep buying the plantation produce to save a penney.

Our trade deficit is helping them to stabilize the country by providing the poor folks jobs. 3 dollars a day may not sound much to you but it is enough to feed a family over there.

I like to think I am realistic about China. They are an enemy to us, but I don’t see any benefit for them to be unstable. However, if they were to be “preoccupied” with an insurgency or civil disobedience I would be more relaxed about their intentions.

They aren’t stupid. I’m sure you’ve heard of NORINCO. This “capitalist” company is run for the benefit of their military no matter claims to the contrary. They are large, but I know the Red Army isn’t efficient or as battle ready as we are. They’ll never invade us like some conspiracy theorists think. They don’t have the transport capacity to do that.

Sure they bought weapons systems and such from Russia, but they also stole – or were given in the case of the Clinton administration – plenty of advanced materiel of ours.

Things may work out as you say, but for anyone to hope it will happen within the next few years is the height of self-delusion. We’re stuck with them for the foreseeable future, but let’s not sugarcoat their intentions toward us and other free countries.

I am no friend of China but I know damn well that our allies(Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Philipine,and Singapore) would be in serious trouble if China becomes unstable.

If you think mere capitalism will save us from China you are sadly mistaken. They do not care about the econmy except to the point where it enlarges their military.

China is our biggest threat and most dangerous enemy after Wahhabist terrorism.

Btw the Stalin article is very interesting; alot of people say that Hitler was the most evil man of the 20th century. As a Jew its hard to disagree with such but I think Hitler is held as the most evil man because his crimes were brought to light. Stalin and Mao had worse crimes if the numbers are even partially true but their crimes were never revealed in their full horror. Stalin has, especially in the last five years, gone through a great rehabilitation in reputation. And the big reason for such is not that people agree with his terror tactics but because he made Russia feel like a superpower as opposed to teh Tsar who made a superpower feel like a colony. There’s a great desire for a return to glory in Russia and Stalin was seen as the man who caused that to happen.

Let us be a little bit more realistic about China. They have 1.3 billion mouths to feed. I think if they can feed them moutns they are doing a great deed to the world already. Take a look at the African continent, what do you see? Stavation and turmoil. Do you want to see us pushing that country into the same sad state like Africa?

There are some who think China is a bigger threat to us than Islamic terrorism or Russia. I beg to differ. Their technologies are so far behind I have yet to see them design and produce a fighter better than our F16. There ships are noisy and slow. Their submarines are perfect targets. And they are still buying those bulky fighters from the Russian. If Russian cannot cut the grit, what make you think China can?

Their armed forces are perfect for keeping their people at bay, but not good enough to challenge our forces, not yet.

The real villian behind Saddam and Iran is still the Russian. They are the shadow kingpin behind Syria. The Russian has been and still is the only instigator in the middle east. No wonder Bush is pissed. He thought Putin was supposed to be his friend.

Beside, China is doing more business with our country than Russia and Europe combined. It will be impossible to tell Microsoft, Starbucks, McDonald, WalMart, Nike, Dell, Yahoo, Google, KFC, Boeing, etal to cut tie with China.

There are those that recommended people to dicest into India. Indians have been investing into these propaganda machines in America. Latest I heard is that Apple, after invested millions into setting up a software development center in India, closed shop and pulled out after only a few months there. Apple can work with the Chinese, Microsoft can work with the Chinese, but many cannot work with the Indians. I wonder why.

It is to our best interest that China is to remain stable. Regarding China, I am with Bush.

I think we have more to fear from China than about anything other than Wahhabist ideology. And, all these claims that capitalism will save us from them is wishful thinking!
