Jammie; sorry, we only redeploy to Okinawa if we’re winning. Keep your phrases straight; the U.S. Soccer team won a ‘moral victory’ at the World Cup (though their record was better than Kos’s; at least they got a tie).

I could only listen to the game today against Ghana on the radio but the announcers did seem to think the call in the penalty box was suspicious.
But this game does not seem to be anywhere near the debacle that the game against Italy was on Saturday. We wound up that game with only 9 players on the filed and italy had 10. The referree for that game should be suspended like he was in 2002.
And finally if the US team had made a better showing in the first game against the Czech Republic most of this talk would be null and void. So it wasn’t just one game althought I feel that they played their hearts out against Italy for the tie and it sounds like they put up a good fight against Ghana today.
I will be keeping my eye on Ghana. They may be the Cinderella story of the World Cup. They already got my attention when the player from there pulled out an Israel flag at the end of their game against the Czech Republic which of course set off a fire storm in Egypt resulting in the player and the country of Ghana’s Football League issuing formal apologies.

Actually, the Women’s World Cup, hosted by China, is coming in 2007 and the US Women’s Team is traditionally one of the best in the world. And, of course, there’s always the Men’s and Women’s teams for the Summer Olympics.

I think the US did very well against three tough teams, and am optimistic about the future of the US Soccer program.

I’m really crushed that the US won’t win the World “best sissies who can act like they’ve just taken mortar fire while faking the most injuries to buy calls and allow their teammates to rest” Cup.

Soccer’s not only a joke, but a boring joke at that.

I was watching the game and frankly alot of the calls went against us, like the penalty that allowed Ghana to score the winning goal
I can’t prove anti-americanism, just a kvetching theory of mine.
