Thank you Michelle,Hotair,
May God Bless our Troops and their families.
I would consider asking questions to all our country sellers
including the President.

What in the hell are you doing screwing with our Military and not letting them kill these sons of bitches over there?

Who gives a care if the regular people are injured or killed because I don't see the freaking world crying that our Soldiers are getting killed?

If the UN couldn't take care of Iraq and the killing of their people from their leader then the UN should be toss out of our country and we should tell the world if you need us then you will abide by our rules or f*** off....
If you(Congress/Senators/President/Liberals crying foul)just let our Military use what we have and stop pussy footing around we could take out everyone that needs a beating kick their butts.

It's time to question why our so call leaders need just shut up and put up and then tell them all YOU'RE FIRED**

I'm so fed up with the liberal Media, it time to close them down...A ARMY SOLDIERS MOTHER AND PROUD OF HIM....

If you can't stand up and tell people what you think then you've got to be scared shit of the morons in our country.
I'M NOT I SAY BRING IT ON.. FACE TO FACE

The truest tribute to the fallen is to learn and take the actions required to prevent anything similar from occurring ever again.

On another note, there is no greater evidence of cowardice than to face your opponent while masked. (Yes, I know the Lone Ranger and Zorro wore masks. And yes, I do consider them cowards.)

Many have stated that they are dismayed by the lack of outrage toward the barbaric treatment of the captured soldiers. Being dismayed is rather naive in that while loathe to admit it, the vast majority of us who watch the media's coverage are not outraged because we are not surprised or shocked by what the enemy did. To be surprised or shocked by their actions would be equivalent to being surprised or shocked to see a clearly rabid dog bite someone's leg.

Barbarism at the hands of the thugslems is expected.

Mike O, I wonder why they would let three young marines standing a check point by themselves? Who gave that order?

The military should conduct an inquiry.

This is the only way to stop this tragedy from happening again.

To me, it sounds like somebody made some really poor command decisions and these two soldiers paid dearly for it. Where that part of the fault lies will be appropriately investigated by the military; the result of that may be of little comfort to the families.

However, never forget that this shows just what kind of monsters we are dealing with and that these goons are evil in every sense of the word. A lesson for our brave people in service and for the American public in general.

May those fine young men find eternal peace and their killers find- soon- eternal damnation.

Vanya is right, we don't know what happened. I tend to think that these men were caught in a position where they could not have fought back. Possibly unconscious, bum rushed, flash banged.
Hell, for all we know the murdering bastards could have had a bunch of kids run up to the Gi's, then gang rushed them.
Spurious, you are right about the squads. I do not know why the NCO did what he did. What I do hope is that the rest of our people their learn the lesson from this. Strength in numbers, and the next time it happens our guys kill the bastards first. Preferably with bullets dipped in pig blood.

Spurius Ligustinus, while it is so common to say "thank you for your service", past and future, I don't know of a better way yet - so, THANK YOU!

While I'm not an expert in military processes of such complex nature, I know that spies, agents and other special forces have methods for such situations.

No need to explain anything here - I just want you to know that I understood, at least in general, what you were trying to convey.

Gee whiz, spurious, they may not have had a choice. Maybe they could not return fire for some reason; weapons jammed, injured, whatever. You weren't there. Mistakes will be made, soldiers will be captured. Monday-morning quarterbacking the incident is uncalled for.

A tragedy. An outrage.

But what really pisses me off is that these three didn't have to die - at least not in the way they did - and that two of them died without the dignity that is the warrior's due.

It is a time for grief, to recognize the inhumanity of our enemy and the absolute imperative of crushing them.

It's also a time for lessons learned, and for some hard questions about why this senseless ending came about.

OK, before anybody accuses me of being another moonbat, "I support the troops by wanting to bring them home" type, that's not the case: I have served, and serve yet again in our military. From 1979-1989 as an infantry and civil affairs officer, followed by re-enlistment this year as a sergeant, 1/82nd Cavalry Squadron, ORARNG. I came back specifically for the opportunity to take a stand against our enemies like those brave men did, and Lord willing one day soon I will.

So if what follows sounds callous ... keep in mind that my anger is professionally-related. No soldier should have to die the way those two men did.

Questions:

1. For the officer or NCO who was in charge of that checkpoint: What were you thinking? If you're taking fire while leading a small element, then you hunker down, stick together and call for support. Help was less than 15 minutes away; a squad-sized group such as yours could've easily held out that long, even against a superior enemy force. Three men can't do the same thing ... as we have sickeningly been shown.

What you don't do is what you did: leave your assigned checkpoint, pile into your vehicles and chase willy-nilly down unfamiliar streets in a hostile town after will o' the wisp snipers, while leaving three of your men behind to die.

Not only that, but by getting you to chase after them the enemy could've suckered you into one of the oldest tricks in warfare: the headlong rush into an ambush. You lost three men needlessly, pointlessly, hideously; the only silver lining is that, luckily, you didn't get yourself and the rest of your men killed, too.

2. For the unfortunate privates: What were you thinking? You had to know what the enemy would do if he took you alive.

You had to know.

You NEVER let yourself be taken alive by these people. For all it guarantees is that you will pass through the gateway to the next life in a lot more pain and with a lot less human dignity than you would otherwise.

That we may die violently on any given day is the soldier's wager; but why, given the choice between dying on your feet fighting - or the choice of waiting, hog-tied, while some animal positions the video camera - did you choose the latter? I pray to God that in the coming days your final moments won't be aired on al Jazeera; but knowing our enemy, that's a hope against hope.

I feel badly for the families of these men. I also feel great anger at the fact that this didn't need to happen. What may, in some small way, give their horrific end some meaning is for the leadership to take note of what went wrong that day and to not repeat the same mistake; and for every man and woman in the field to remember that there is a difference between dying on their feet and dying on their knees, and if it comes to that one is definitely preferable to the other.

I served in law enforcement for 24 years , then retired and am now in my 2nd and final term as a magistrate/judge . I have seen and heard it all. I thought I was above emotional episodes , but after viewing today's VENT , --tears filled my eyes and I was unable to speak due to the enormous lump in my throat .As i have stated here before , the majority of our young men and women are true PATRIOTS and deserve our praise and respect .Especislly those who volunteer to serve in our military . GOD BLESS THEM . Thank you Michelle , Bryan ,and A P for today's VENT .

br8veheart, thank you for your service and for what you do now in support of troops and families.

dhimwit, they will pay by losing in 2006 and 2008, etc. until they come to their senses. Presidents Truman and Kennedy are turning in their graves, at the sight of their party of today. Silence is also a way to speak. The voters will not forget how the liberals and their leaders reacted, better yet, didn't react, toward this barbaric slaughter and the death of Zarqawi.

It is not the policy of the U.S. military to torture enemy combatants, certainly not to the point that DNA tests become necessary to determine which disfigured corpse is which. It is not the policy of the U.S. military to behead captured enemies. Water-boarding and sleep deprivation strike us as bad and likely unproductive policies. Disfiguring torture and beheading strike us as the acts of barbarians and monsters. There is equivalence in this?

Full editorial on moral equivalence, worth reading -http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/opinions/articles/0622thur1-22.html

I don't know when or how it will happen, but the left will pay for their sabotage and treasons. They murdered those soldiers as surely as if they had held them down while the terrorists went to work.
