God Bless the brave young men and women that serve and, in some cases, give the ultimate sacrifice for that which they believe in. I will NEVER forget. Likewise I will never forget the traitors that blame us for all of the worlds problums.
MalkinFan on June 22, 2006 at 9:26 AM
Absolutely wonderful tribute, Michelle. The only problem is that I’m sitting in my cubicle, trying to get my work started for the day, and listening to PFC Tucker’s last phone message brought tears to eyes; not exactly professional :-).
So AI belatedly issued a statement, huh? ‘Bout time. Now where’s the outrage from CAIR?
God bless our troops, and thank you MM and Bryan for what you’re doing for them on a daily basis.
dalewalt on June 22, 2006 at 9:30 AM
I WILL NEVER FORGET.
I will not forget the MSM coverage of these events. I will not forget the leftwing bloggers coverage of this event. I will not forget Murtha. I will not forget Boxer. I will not forget Kennedy. These days will live as the times that the left turned on America. And America fought back
GOD BLESS THE USA
Theworldisnotenough on June 22, 2006 at 9:34 AM
God Bless all are troops!! Thank you Michelle, Allah, and Bryan for producing an excellent vent. I wish the MSM would do something along those lines for our troops. I know that will not happen though. They will never be forgotten. As a member of the PGR (Patriot Guard Riders), I can at least show my respect and support when our fallen come home.
br8veheart on June 22, 2006 at 9:36 AM
Amen to all of the above. God bless them.
Now can we please make sure their sacrifice and their families’ suffering is not in vain? Can we be allowed to win?
And to Br8veheart: thank YOU for your particular brand of service. It too often seems like we just can’t do enough for our men and women in uniform. The PGR gang has found a way to give something back at a time when it matters most, when the fallen can no longer defend themselves and their families are weakened by grief.
I salute you.
Professor Blather on June 22, 2006 at 9:59 AM
On that note – for anyone who hasn’t seen the website for Br8veheart’s organization, I highly recommend it. One glance is enough to remind you why you are a conservative and a patriot.

Let the tear flow…..with love and admiration,
forever grateful, and painful, with deep appreciation,
To these brave souls….
I say…
“We won’t forget…we owe it to you”

I cried when I watched this. Thank you, Michelle, for a moving tribute to these fallen heroes and their fellow troops. G’d bless our troops!
SpartRan on June 22, 2006 at 10:07 AM
During WWII we named streets after local heroes who died in battle. Some of the heroic exploits were debunked by later historians but that didn’t matter at the time. The media at the time were on the right side of the war. Even when we suffered losses Hollywood turned out movies that increased patriotism. Contrast “The Purple Heart” (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0037197/) (Read this NY Times review to see how the world has changed. The reviewer must be unfamiliar with “Flyboys” or any other history of WWII.) to George Clooney’s Syriana.
Thanks for acknowledging that we still have heroes.
mkstach on June 22, 2006 at 10:09 AM
God Bless our troop –
And for those against the war, remind them of this quote:
“The pacifist is as surely a traitor to his country and to humanity as is the most brutal wrongdoer.” -Theodore Roosevelt
********************
For those theistic types out there, you may also pray for the enemy – that they might be saved.
ar_basin on June 22, 2006 at 10:10 AM
I will indeed pray that the enemy finds Jesus – and I hope we can arrange a personal meeting with their Lord and Savior as soon as humanly possible. By next Tuesday at the latest.
;)
Professor Blather on June 22, 2006 at 10:13 AM
As far as I am concerned, much of the blame for the deaths of EVERY United States soldier who has paid the ultimate sacrifice for freedom of people oppressed, both in this present war against Islam and previous wars against forces hostile to freedom, rest on the shoulders of mealy-mouthed liberals and democrats who freely and willingly give aid and comfort to the enemies of this Country by their seditious and traitorous speech and actions.
NRA4Freedom on June 22, 2006 at 10:21 AM
crying now…i can’t even begin to imagine what their families are going through right now. bless those boys in heaven.
pullingmyhairout on June 22, 2006 at 10:24 AM
Thankfully I watched this while I was home alone. Oh my word, I wanted to sob. I didn’t catch the name of the congressman in the clip, but I echo his words. Where IS the public outrage?
Leiren on June 22, 2006 at 10:25 AM
Br8veheart: I just joined the PGR; haven’t been on a mission yet, but I just found out that we’re going to have a mission in New Stanton in mid-July (troops returning home)… I can’t wait to help show support for our troops.
Leiren: the Congressman was Rep. Kennedy, from Minnesota. Thank God there’s at least SOME congressman who knows how to support our troops, and are willing to speak out.
dalewalt on June 22, 2006 at 11:07 AM
MM and the whole crew, thank you. I know this old soldier had tears in his eyes. PFC Tucker with that phone call shows the true spirit of our troops. His concern was for his family, not for himself. Mr. Kennedy understands as well. If he gets it, the troops get it, and their families get it, then what is wrong with our leaders. They should be forced to watch and listen to the messages from these brave souls. Gotta go, getting a little hard to see the monitor now…
P.S. br8veheart, I hear you. I am part of the PGR here in S. Florida. I don’t ride, but I d*mn sure show my support for the fallen. We all can.
jcon96 on June 22, 2006 at 11:11 AM
Beautiful tribute, thank you HotAir. Made me cry. Thank God for our troops, without them we’d be nothing. God Bless Our Troops!

What is a “.flv” file? Previous Vents were in .m4v format which iTunes will play, but .flv is a new one on me.

No Outrage!
No Retribution!!
No Retaliation!!!
No Eye for an Eye!!!!
Face it MM
We don’t care or
We could care less!
I’d like to throw my medals from Vietnam over the White House fence, not in protest of the war like that tool Kerry, but in protest for the way our military is treated.
I have no idea why they all don’t just up and freakin QUIT! That’s it! Walk the F out! Attica!!! Attica!!! Attica!!!
Dread Pirate Roberts VI on June 22, 2006 at 11:31 AM
I retired from the Navy in 2003 after 22yrs. When I heard about the PGR, I knew that I wanted to be a part of that group. At the time, I didn’t own a motorcycle but that didn’t matter to them. I have a mc now. It is the least I can do (since im not active military anymore) to support our guys/girls fighting for all of us. I am sure that all of the fallen are in a special “honor guard” at the pearly gates.
We need to show our support in any way and not pull out until the job is done. We also must remove the shackles from our military and let them do the job that they can do. Congress needs to listen to the boots in the sandbox.
br8veheart on June 22, 2006 at 11:33 AM
I don’t know when or how it will happen, but the left will pay for their sabotage and treasons. They murdered those soldiers as surely as if they had held them down while the terrorists went to work.
dhimwit on June 22, 2006 at 11:40 AM
Amen to today’s vent. Thank you to all our fallen heroes. God bless you and your families.
RobertCSampson on June 22, 2006 at 11:52 AM
Wow, that Steele guy in the ad at the end sounds almost as cool as Michelle! I hope Maryland(inians?) vote for him!
Kevin M on June 22, 2006 at 12:52 PM
br8veheart, thank you for your service and for what you do now in support of troops and families.
dhimwit, they will pay by losing in 2006 and 2008, etc. until they come to their senses. Presidents Truman and Kennedy are turning in their graves, at the sight of their party of today. Silence is also a way to speak. The voters will not forget how the liberals and their leaders reacted, better yet, didn’t react, toward this barbaric slaughter and the death of Zarqawi.

A fitting tribute to our fallen heroes.
Thanks Hot Air.

I served in law enforcement for 24 years , then retired and am now in my 2nd and final term as a magistrate/judge . I have seen and heard it all. I thought I was above emotional episodes , but after viewing today’s VENT , –tears filled my eyes and I was unable to speak due to the enormous lump in my throat .As i have stated here before , the majority of our young men and women are true PATRIOTS and deserve our praise and respect .Especislly those who volunteer to serve in our military . GOD BLESS THEM . Thank you Michelle , Bryan ,and A P for today’s VENT .

A tragedy. An outrage.
But what really pisses me off is that these three didn’t have to die – at least not in the way they did – and that two of them died without the dignity that is the warrior’s due.
It is a time for grief, to recognize the inhumanity of our enemy and the absolute imperative of crushing them.
It’s also a time for lessons learned, and for some hard questions about why this senseless ending came about.
OK, before anybody accuses me of being another moonbat, “I support the troops by wanting to bring them home” type, that’s not the case: I have served, and serve yet again in our military. From 1979-1989 as an infantry and civil affairs officer, followed by re-enlistment this year as a sergeant, 1/82nd Cavalry Squadron, ORARNG. I came back specifically for the opportunity to take a stand against our enemies like those brave men did, and Lord willing one day soon I will.
So if what follows sounds callous … keep in mind that my anger is professionally-related. No soldier should have to die the way those two men did.
Questions:
1. For the officer or NCO who was in charge of that checkpoint: What were you thinking? If you’re taking fire while leading a small element, then you hunker down, stick together and call for support. Help was less than 15 minutes away; a squad-sized group such as yours could’ve easily held out that long, even against a superior enemy force. Three men can’t do the same thing … as we have sickeningly been shown.
What you don’t do is what you did: leave your assigned checkpoint, pile into your vehicles and chase willy-nilly down unfamiliar streets in a hostile town after will o’ the wisp snipers, while leaving three of your men behind to die.
Not only that, but by getting you to chase after them the enemy could’ve suckered you into one of the oldest tricks in warfare: the headlong rush into an ambush. You lost three men needlessly, pointlessly, hideously; the only silver lining is that, luckily, you didn’t get yourself and the rest of your men killed, too.
2. For the unfortunate privates: What were you thinking? You had to know what the enemy would do if he took you alive.
You had to know.
You NEVER let yourself be taken alive by these people. For all it guarantees is that you will pass through the gateway to the next life in a lot more pain and with a lot less human dignity than you would otherwise.
That we may die violently on any given day is the soldier’s wager; but why, given the choice between dying on your feet fighting – or the choice of waiting, hog-tied, while some animal positions the video camera – did you choose the latter? I pray to God that in the coming days your final moments won’t be aired on al Jazeera; but knowing our enemy, that’s a hope against hope.
I feel badly for the families of these men. I also feel great anger at the fact that this didn’t need to happen. What may, in some small way, give their horrific end some meaning is for the leadership to take note of what went wrong that day and to not repeat the same mistake; and for every man and woman in the field to remember that there is a difference between dying on their feet and dying on their knees, and if it comes to that one is definitely preferable to the other.
Spurius Ligustinus on June 22, 2006 at 3:58 PM
Commentary with class. Thanks Michelle.
wcarr on June 22, 2006 at 4:03 PM
Gee whiz, spurious, they may not have had a choice. Maybe they could not return fire for some reason; weapons jammed, injured, whatever. You weren’t there. Mistakes will be made, soldiers will be captured. Monday-morning quarterbacking the incident is uncalled for.
Vanya on June 22, 2006 at 4:54 PM
Spurius Ligustinus, while it is so common to say “thank you for your service”, past and future, I don’t know of a better way yet – so, THANK YOU!
While I’m not an expert in military processes of such complex nature, I know that spies, agents and other special forces have methods for such situations.
No need to explain anything here – I just want you to know that I understood, at least in general, what you were trying to convey.
Entelechy on June 22, 2006 at 5:12 PM
Vanya is right, we don’t know what happened. I tend to think that these men were caught in a position where they could not have fought back. Possibly unconscious, bum rushed, flash banged.
Hell, for all we know the murdering bastards could have had a bunch of kids run up to the Gi’s, then gang rushed them.
Spurious, you are right about the squads. I do not know why the NCO did what he did. What I do hope is that the rest of our people their learn the lesson from this. Strength in numbers, and the next time it happens our guys kill the bastards first. Preferably with bullets dipped in pig blood.
Wyrd on June 22, 2006 at 5:47 PM
To me, it sounds like somebody made some really poor command decisions and these two soldiers paid dearly for it. Where that part of the fault lies will be appropriately investigated by the military; the result of that may be of little comfort to the families.
However, never forget that this shows just what kind of monsters we are dealing with and that these goons are evil in every sense of the word. A lesson for our brave people in service and for the American public in general.
May those fine young men find eternal peace and their killers find- soon- eternal damnation.
Mike O on June 22, 2006 at 6:39 PM
Mike O, I wonder why they would let three young marines standing a check point by themselves? Who gave that order?
The military should conduct an inquiry.
This is the only way to stop this tragedy from happening again.
easy87us on June 22, 2006 at 9:39 PM
The truest tribute to the fallen is to learn and take the actions required to prevent anything similar from occurring ever again.
On another note, there is no greater evidence of cowardice than to face your opponent while masked. (Yes, I know the Lone Ranger and Zorro wore masks. And yes, I do consider them cowards.)
Many have stated that they are dismayed by the lack of outrage toward the barbaric treatment of the captured soldiers. Being dismayed is rather naive in that while loathe to admit it, the vast majority of us who watch the media’s coverage are not outraged because we are not surprised or shocked by what the enemy did. To be surprised or shocked by their actions would be equivalent to being surprised or shocked to see a clearly rabid dog bite someone’s leg.
Barbarism at the hands of the thugslems is expected.
ztep86 on June 22, 2006 at 11:18 PM
Thank you Michelle,Hotair,
May God Bless our Troops and their families.
I would consider asking questions to all our country sellers
including the President.
What in the hell are you doing screwing with our Military and not letting them kill these sons of bitches over there?
Who gives a care if the regular people are injured or killed because I don’t see the freaking world crying that our Soldiers are getting killed?
If the UN couldn’t take care of Iraq and the killing of their people from their leader then the UN should be toss out of our country and we should tell the world if you need us then you will abide by our rules or f*** off….
If you(Congress/Senators/President/Liberals crying foul)just let our Military use what we have and stop pussy footing around we could take out everyone that needs a beating kick their butts.
It’s time to question why our so call leaders need just shut up and put up and then tell them all YOU’RE FIRED**
I’m so fed up with the liberal Media, it time to close them down…A ARMY SOLDIERS MOTHER AND PROUD OF HIM….
If you can’t stand up and tell people what you think then you’ve got to be scared shit of the morons in our country.
I’M NOT I SAY BRING IT ON.. FACE TO FACE
alyce on June 23, 2006 at 2:40 AM
May God Bless this country because he will take care of our Children…thanks Michelle…
I’m Outrage and not shock about what happen to our soldiers.
I’m more outrage about the so called leaders trying to kill our troops by not letting our Soldiers do what they were trained to do. KILL THEM SOBS!!! NUKE THEM ALL!!!!
May The Liberals Leave our Country And Start Their Own.
