Senator John Kerry, exhibiting his great leadership abilities, managed to get twelve other senators to go along with his surrender resolution today. The Senate voted overwhelmingly to reject the idea of a date-certain pullout from Iraq in July 2007.

Spurius Ligustinus, when you said Donks were you referring to Badonkadonk?

see: Honky Tonk Badonkadonk
http://www.cmt.com/artists/az/adkins_trace/artist.jhtml

There is good donk and bad donk. There is also donk so bad it is good as in Bad-donkadonk

Not to forget
White donK or Honkey-donk
Beltway Donk or Wonkey-donk

Easy87us is wise. There is always a reason behind the stupidest vote in Congress. You can't even get a vote on anything unless the power-Donks let you through the tollgate. The powerdonks usually know in advance how their donk-bots would vote, and they allot crossover votes to those deemed in need of a re-election donk-kick. Sometimes they simply want some snappy donk-blahblah for the press-donks to parrot in the free ad circuit once called The News.

I don't pretend to be in the donk-loop so I cannot figure their strategy. And let's be honest, Pelosi and Reid are the donk-brains behind this so we are unravelling a very tiny ball of wax.

Did they that Cut and Win, or Cut Wind?

Victory is based on fact not fiction.

Senility is setting in with R. Byrd. Maybe he forgot what he voted for or against the last time. West-Virginia, get a clue ahead of Nov. 2006.

A big disappointment, of late, is our used-to-be-the-sane-Senator from California, Dianne Feinstein. Now we have two nuts representing us. Why she wants to sing at the tune of B. Boxer is beyond comprehension.

For those of you who think this debate was a waste of time/money, think again - the Congress wastes money on much less significant items, oh so many of them.

This clarifies where each party and each representative stands and gives Mr. Rove and others a trove of ammo from now until Nov. 2008. I also can't wait to see what Saturday Night Live will do with this week's performance of Kerry & Co.

About wimps (just looking at him makes me feel protected, not!) - Sen. Lincoln Chafee was the only Republican supporter of the troop withdrawal resolution.

We of the right should thank Kerry, Feingold et al among the donkey party for the service they are doing for us.

Really. We should.

The current Republican majority in Congress would be self-terminating but for the donks' inability to do the one thing they'd need to in order to win: shut their yaps and stop reminding the electorate of why we put them in the child seat in back to begin with.

It was just a few weeks ago that the donks were doing their touchdown dance on the 40-yard line, so sure were they that "Bush is toast!" and that "Had enough?" would be all they'd need as a campaign slogan come November. And now ... look at them. What a sorry spectacle of preening, self-important cowardice masquerading unsuccessfully as "principle."

If the upcoming election were simply a referendum on Republican leadership, especially in the Senate, we'd be in big trouble. But thank God, we've got the donks to run against!

Just how much does this crap cost us taxpayers, anyway?

Kerry, what a brilliant career: the Kerry amendment to cut $6 billion from our military right after they'd been continuously raped by the Clinton admin for 8 years...
the Kerry "let's pull out now" thing, the Kerry "let's pull out a little later" thing, testifying against his brothers and helping the enemy win Vietnam, trying to do the same thing to our troops now, voting to send our brave men and women into battle and then voting against the money to provide them with armor and supplies....
And the dems are SERIOUSLY thinking about putting this kook up for pres again? You have got to be kidding.

BTW once again my traitor senators BOTH voted against our country winning, women's rights, humanitarian efforts, and freedom. UGH. Boxer and Feinstain will go down in history as some treacherous, anti-women's rights, commie "babes."

If 6/100 was a razor-thin margin, what the h--l will they claim 13/100 to be? "I was for 'razor-thin' before I got 'machetti-thick".

How surprising the Democrats didn't come up with a "cut and hop" compromise, in the name of unity.

Political satire is the best becaue in good humor there is always a good dose of reality. Best of today, from The Therapist:

Sure, it's disheartening," said Kerry. "So close yet so far. I'm a man who is generally optimistic right before I'm pessimistic. And you can take that to the bank before withdrawing it. Also, I went to Vietnam

[...] Allah has the roll call votes: Kerry-Feingold killed, 86-13. Recall that the previous version of the amendment was defeated 93-6 last week; the new version was substantially identical except that it pushed the deadline for complete withdrawal back six months from the end of this year to the middle of next.
