Occam’s razor (also spelled Ockham’s razor) is a principle attributed to the 14th-century English logician and Franciscan friar William of Ockham. Originally a tenet of the reductionist philosophy of nominalism, it is more often taken today as a heuristic maxim that advises economy, parsimony, or simplicity in scientific theories. Occam’s razor states that the explanation of any phenomenon should make as few assumptions as possible, eliminating those that make no difference in the observable predictions of the explanatory hypothesis or theory. The principle is often expressed in Latin as:
entia non sunt multiplicanda praeter necessitatem,
which translates to:
entities should not be multiplied beyond necessity.
Furthermore, when multiple competing theories have equal predictive powers, the principle recommends selecting those that introduce the fewest assumptions and postulate the fewest hypothetical entities. It is in this sense that Occam’s razor is usually understood.

I have wanted to bring this up for the wacky 9/11 conspiracy theorists as well. For me if you have to inhale and say “and if” more than once in an argument or discussion just take another sip of tequila and relax in the afternoon sun it will all be ok.

Not to moonbats everywhere: when a lawyer starts talking about you in that kind of plain language, you just might be doing something stupid.

Probably not a good idea. When you mix a moonbat with a musical instrument, you get a traitor who denouces patriotism, the people of the country they’re from, their fan base and their sitting president.

And definitely stuck in the ‘groundhogs day’ cycle.

How can he be real? Not only he is hallucinating a reality for himself, but he completey rejects all external facts so he can keep on fabricating his own world with what he called “facts” that are nothing more than fragments of his own imagination.

I tell you,this guy is dangerous. If he has a gun I would take it away from him. I would take all knives away from him. In fact, I would not even let him drive until he shows signs of returning to normal. He could have an imaginery friend telling him what to do too. Take him to a shrink. This is urgent.

Given those numbers, only 0.1% of society is fully rational. Scary I know, but it would fit the evidence we see today.

Are they real people? I mean, is this Jason guy really playing with a full deck?

I went back and try to search for the statistics on mentally sick people in our society but I could not find it. I recall it is somewhere around 30% with light mental problem( a little bit paranoid, eg) and 10% with severe mental problems, with 2 to 3% in the dangerous category….or something like that.

Jason’s refusal to accept reality is definitely belong to that 2% category. If you force him to accept reality he would crack and sometimes they may get a gun and start a rampage, or they may break down and cry, it all depends on how violent they are. I guess Jason is the type that may just go into the toilet and space out, wearing a tin hat, of course.
