NYC cyanide plot: maybe BS, and even if not, not that scary anyway

George Smith of Global Security goofs on the “mubtakkar of death,” then follows up by slapping Time around for pimping “terror plot infotainment.” Good stuff; the drawings in particular had me laughing.

Links via Defense Tech, which does its own part to deflate the Time story before checking in on the status of chem-detection technology.

Newsweek piles on too:

On one key point, however, current and former officials familiar with the threat disputed Suskind’s account. The officials said there was no reason to believe that the Al Qaeda team assigned to the attack was still on the loose somewhere inside the United States. In fact, NEWSWEEK sources said, most U.S. officials believe the team had exited U.S. borders. “The notion that the cell is still in the U.S. … is not the case,” said one senior local-law-enforcement official familiar with the matter. Suskind reiterated to NEWSWEEK that his sources say there is “no evidence” that the terror team has left the country. He said that anyone who claims otherwise is “not properly sourced.” Suskind declined to comment further on the contents of the book.

There’s some stuff at the end about torturing Abu Zubaydah and pressuring Khaled Sheikh Mohammed by threatening to torture his children. They can’t corroborate any of it, but they probably figured it’s been 48 hours since we’ve had a good “whither America’s soul?” post from Andrew Sullivan, so why not toss it in there to sort of, you know, move things along.

This has been one of the most talked about possible scenarios for years now. If it were to happen, libs would be the first to say “How did Bush let this happen?” But when steps are taken to prevent such acts of war the same libs cry foul “Bush is taking away our civil rights!”

God forbid the dhimmicrats ever get back into power.

Oh my God! The NSA must have been listening in on their phone conversations. This can not be! Let the ACLU get an injunction to supress this info and let the Islamonazis go right ahead and do whatever “The profit Momo” tells them! “Peace be upon them!” Right!!!

It is becoming a mantra lately by the left. Zarqawi was built up by Bush and his death is no big deal. Cyanide is no big deal and don’t dare claim it’s a WMD, just more exaggeration by Bush. Any uncovered plots by law enforcement are phoney and concocted by Rove to scare us. 9/11 was an inside job, is becoming more like DNC talking points everyday by the leftist.

It’s all about the enemy Liberals crying about the bogus “cut” in Federal Homeland Security Money to NYC.

First of all, it’s not a decrease of money, the 5th column has lied and mislead the country on that (TRUTH- The original budget INCREASE, was cut, but they still got an increase over the last year)

It’s all a propaganda story by the 5th Column.

The Left will sink to the lowest levels to embarrass Bush.

When will the Liberals put country ahead of politics?
