The siren’s up at Drudge. No indictment. Sigh.
Well, if this is the karmic counterbalance to Rove being let off the hook in Plamegate, I’ll take it.
But enough of this unpleasantness. Meet Catherine Davis.
Update: Michelle quoted the Atlanta Journal-Constitution in her post on June 5 about the McKinney probe:
“Right from the start this U.S. attorney has handled this case differently from every other case,” said Chuck Canterbury, national president of the Fraternal Order of Police. “And it’s because she is a sitting congresswoman.”

That must have been one awesome grand jury…
Hoodlumman on June 16, 2006 at 5:33 PM
Great to see the race card is not yet overdrawn.
NTWR on June 16, 2006 at 5:34 PM
Lets see…
Play the race card, get out of jail free.
Being a Celebrity, get out of jail free.
Having lots of money to buy lawyers, get out of jail free.
OK I get it now! I can buy off a court, my famous status can woo the court, if I’m a minority I can claim racism to the court.
So like Michael Jackson, OJ Simpson, and now McKinney, I can use any one of these ways and means to commit a crime and get away with it.
So much for our legal system.
Kini on June 16, 2006 at 5:40 PM
What a load this is …. anyone else would be in jail charged with assault. My money says she will do it again and this time it will be worse and with race baiters marching and hollering about the black thing….this stinks to high heaven….but I guess we should all be happy about the Rove issue…Mckinney is small potatoes anyway…and she may just be voted out, soon…she really showed her true colors this time. (pardon, but was I being a racist with that last statement??)
Sandys Beach on June 16, 2006 at 5:41 PM
I’m really tired of the race card.
dman on June 16, 2006 at 5:45 PM
Alert the ACLU! Sandys Beach har har…
Well, it’s good to see elected officials giving hints to terrorists of how to get around our legal system: play the race card, become a victim, get the leftwing media behind you, pretend to have been mishandled, etc. etc.
At least the Boston judge told the terrorists rounded up there to pound sand when they claimed they were mistreated.
NTWR on June 16, 2006 at 5:46 PM
“Right from the start this U.S. attorney has handled this case differently from every other case,” said Chuck Canterbury, national president of the Fraternal Order of Police. “And it’s because she is a sitting congresswoman.”
No, WRONG! It’s because she’s a sitting BLACK congresswoman!
And by the way, it was a Grand Jury that refused to indict and I’m guessing that in Washington, that jury (of her peers) was majority B-L-A-C-K.
So much for equal justice. . .
ForYourEdification on June 16, 2006 at 5:47 PM
Damn RACE CARD still has trumping power. Glad to see we will continue to pay for the wrong doing of others for decades to come. Republicans have a good stretch of 7 to 10 days, so she gets OFF, scott free? Please explain this to me.
Everyone knows she did it, there is video, maybe it got lost?
She even claimed inappropriate touching, and she gets away with it. DC has no backbone, bunch of Invertebrates.
Wonder how the cop feels?
THIS IS BULL SHIT!
shooter on June 16, 2006 at 5:50 PM
Does this mean I can hit an illegal and get off scott free since I am a sitting US citizen??
NTWR on June 16, 2006 at 5:53 PM
Only if you’re black.
clyde on June 16, 2006 at 5:58 PM
HA!
NTWR on June 16, 2006 at 6:02 PM
I just realized something: Racism is alive and well in DC after all! That’s the ONLY reason a grand jury would have let her off the hook, with video and six witnesses to her stupidity. So saying the charges and the “attack” by the cop was due to race, I’m waiting to hear her say her unindictment was due to the same thing. I’m waiting…..
clyde on June 16, 2006 at 6:02 PM
Sandys Beach
Damn – you’ve hit the bulls-eye again. I like your postings and since you say it exactly like it is there is no reason I have to post anymore. You express my thoughts exactly!!!
OBX Pete on June 16, 2006 at 6:05 PM
C’mon, peoples! Did you seriously expect a grand jury comprised of people who twice voted for Marion Barry to put the wood to McKinney for pimp-slapping a white cop??? Score another triumph for justice in the District of Crack.
Kid from Brooklyn on June 16, 2006 at 6:06 PM
Well, I’m certain Zsa Zsa Gabor deserves a new trial because of this.
I guess being a Congressperson really does come with certain privileges after all.
GT on June 16, 2006 at 6:06 PM
Another victory for White Guilt!!! Huzzah!!!
(Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to go and be disgusted.)
DirkBelig on June 16, 2006 at 6:16 PM
Kid from Brooklyn has it right. C’mon folks, it’s just a bunch of gimmee gimmee nimrods serving on a grand jury in Washington D.C. Did anyone really expect anything else?
Khyber Pass on June 16, 2006 at 6:18 PM
Hey Kyber,
No, I truly did not expect any other way for this to turn out…..and that is the sad truth….
robo on June 16, 2006 at 6:25 PM
So let me get this straight. It takes a grand jury (with bogus evidence) one day to hand down bogus indictments in the Duke case in favor of a crazy black woman, but with overwhelming evidence it takes over two months for another grand jury to decide NOT to indict another crazy black woman.
Our judicial system IS racist, but not how the left says it is.
speed647 on June 16, 2006 at 6:37 PM
There is at least one good thing should come out from this case. I am sure Cynthia McKinney will change her hairdo.
easy87us on June 16, 2006 at 6:56 PM
But her only crime was being black while in Congress! That cop is going to be fired for racism, right?
Ohwait.
ZRyan on June 16, 2006 at 6:58 PM
I would LOOOOOOVE to know what the make-up of that grand jury must have been
Not just racial but political and economic
That would shed some light on this annoying and sickening little conundrum
Defector01 on June 16, 2006 at 7:03 PM
This comes as no surprise, does it? Damn race card dealt so readily.
Like OJ, she’ll now be hunting down the real cop hitter.
Hell, she should have been cited for that hairdo alone.
I hope the officer sues her.
doingwhatican on June 16, 2006 at 7:06 PM
Actually this is GOOD NEWS! This moron is bound to commit at least 6,000 more crimes, misdemeanors, peccadillos, outrages, embarrassments, hysterical pychopathic outbursts, manic maniacal attacks, ad infinitum, all at the expense of the Terrorist Party.
MaiDee on June 16, 2006 at 7:07 PM
Just reported the soldiers at Camp Pandleton have been removed of the shackles and are now been moved to a less secured facility but still under solitary confinement.
The Commander still has to go into early retirement and I am gonna do whatever I can do to make that happen.
Then we shall go after Murtha the Jihad man.
easy87us on June 16, 2006 at 7:16 PM
Let me see. Black Democrat (CM) punches cop, no problem. White Republican (AC) writes book, exercises 1st amendment rights…. well you get the picture. AC is guilty of WWW.
Writing While White.
Wade on June 16, 2006 at 7:27 PM
And the protest is at Camp Pendleton’s main gate tomorrow at 10AM Pacific. Straight from the actual place that started this ball rolling, Michael Savage’s Radio Program.
BTW, see what you can do to help our jailed Marines
http://www.patriotdefensefund.com or buy Savage’s new book at http://www.michaelsavage.com and he’ll donate $5 for every book to them.
Duty, Honor, Country

mike hale on June 16, 2006 at 7:54 PM
AS RICHARD PRYOR SAID ONCE…”IN THIS COUNTRY YOUR GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN RICH” OR IN THIS CASE…GUILTY UNLESS YOUR A POLITICIAN
SparkyFD on June 16, 2006 at 8:03 PM
Heck..no one is surprised here….I think the shock would have been if she was actually indicted for something. The pity is that she got away with striking an officer of the law. But, who is surprised that she did it to begin with? These people fully believe that they are royalty and to challenge their actions will bring down the wrath of whatever deity they worship. Let’s face it, we are to blame here…we have allowed these sorts of behaviors to go on and on and we do not challenge these outcomes. Let’s see what happens with the Duke/LaCross thing…any bets on that one?

Whitey gotta pay.
The Ugly American on June 16, 2006 at 8:16 PM
I just tried to post using the N word. Didn’t take. So much for honesty in blogging.
Crude One on June 16, 2006 at 8:21 PM
I can’t say that I expected anything to happen to McKinney. I will say “Go Davis!”.
sMack on June 16, 2006 at 8:34 PM
A white Liberal, not any white Liberal, but a Kennedy.
A black Liberal, not any black Liberal, but…a BLACK Liberal.
Both committed a crime. They may not be very serious crimes, but they are punishable crimes.
Now, how naive are you to believe that they should be punished!
Here’s the Golden Rule:
If you’re a Kennedy or a Black Liberal politician who committed a minor crime that is not hurting the rest of your colleagues or your Party, you shall not be charged.
If you’re a Republican Conservative -black, white, or Martian- who committed the same crimes, you’re done.
End of discussion.

My heart goes with Catherine.
Good luck in her race. Just bring out No Amnesty and she will win.
easy87us on June 17, 2006 at 12:15 AM
O.J. justice in Washington. No wonder violent crime continues to flourish there.
That jury does indeed represent how the citizens view law breakers in their area. Just look at who they elect as their mayor. ;o)
DannoJyd on June 17, 2006 at 4:29 AM
If you’re a Kennedy or a Black Liberal politician who committed a minor crime that is not hurting the rest of your colleagues or your Party, you shall not be charged.
CatholicConservative is spot on. I can only hope that next time (and there WILL be a next time) Cynthia McKinney does something so utterly egregious that they have to charge her.
Ellen on June 17, 2006 at 4:56 AM
This is good News… we didn’t need her as another martyr anyway. Like Cindy Moonbat Sheehan, Nick Berg, Al Franken, Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi, Al Gore, John Kerry, should I go on… these morons do more to help the conservative cause than Karl Rove. Let them be on the news every night ’cause the more these folks talk, the better we’ll do in November.
Bob Mileti on June 17, 2006 at 6:20 AM
EXCELLENT point..Bob Mileti..another martyr is not needed. So, we wait till she, and the others, burn themselves out. It WILL happen…and November will be the beginning of the end for these kinds of dems.
Sandys Beach on June 17, 2006 at 9:34 AM
McKinney is up again for re-election this year here in Georgia. One afternoon I see McKinney signs all over the main road off of my subdivision, in homeowners yards. That evening when I went out only one home had a sign left. This is a tactic her and her father do. They never ask permission to put their signs up, they just do it. Same thing when voting, Cindy and her father go beyond the restricted space and pander for votes.
moonsbreath on June 17, 2006 at 11:24 AM
I have it on good authority that a phone survey is being conducted in McKinney’s district where three different campaign slogans are presented, and the caller is asked to rate the effectiveness of each one.
The first goes something like: “Vote for [insert primary challenger here, of which there are at least two] because Cynthia McKinney is a do-nothing Congresswoman who can’t get the money she promised to get for our District from Washington…”
The second: “Vote for [challenger] because Cynthia McKinney does not sufficiently articulate the needs of our District’s most disadvantaged citizens, or champion the values we elected her to represent in Washington…”
The third and final one: “Vote for [challenger] because Cynthia McKinney is an unreliable and dangerous woman who espoused conspiracy theories surrounding 9/11, and only the other day assaulted a Capitol Hill police officer, for which she has still not fully apologized. We don’t need a woman like that representing our District in Washington…”
Bingo. I vote for #3.
RD on June 17, 2006 at 1:41 PM
Sigh, this had nothing to do with the race card, regardless of the fact that Mckinney played it. This is about the status quo in DC as it relates to crime. I posted in my blog that it’s important to remember we live in a government by the people and for the people, but not in a country where the government gets judged LIKE the people. You can not say that it was the “race card” when you consider the recent events involving a Kennedy. Remember this, Patrick “can’t drive 55″ Kennedy got driven home when he was busted with DUI, and he’s white. If you’re a sitting politician then you get away with almost as much stuff as a UN peacekeeping soldier in an African nation!
Creed on June 17, 2006 at 2:03 PM
She should have been arrested on the spot and there was no need to have a Grand Jury. She committed a crime which was recorded by surveillance cameras for petes sake.
The fact they even went to the Grand Jury was the tip that the fix was in.
Just another example that Politicians are above the law. How do you think the officers feels about all of this?
ScottyDog on June 17, 2006 at 3:35 PM
Of course she walked. She’s black. She’s in congress. She, O.J. and Patrick need to go have some coctails to celebrate. Patrick can be the designated driver.

I thought we had the American Revolution to get rid of the King and the House of Lords. Methinks it’s time for another one.
