Canada 17 claim mistreatment

Canada, the big multi culti softie, has become Guatanamo North. If you believe a group of suspected terrorists, anyway:

Guantanamo! Torture! Suicide!

The exclamatory buzzwords were all over the place in, of all places, a Brampton courtroom yesterday.

Aliens alighting from another planet — knowing nothing of Canada’s civilized temperament — might think this the most brutal and bludgeoning of police states, to hear lawyers for 17 alleged terrorists tell it.

How their clients — a dozen adults and five minors (though not so minor that they’ve been unable to summon healthy beards out of their androgens) — are being unspeakably mistreated by thuggish guards, subjected to oppressive and inhumane conditions, in the various custodial institutions where they currently reside as guests of Her Majesty.

“Torture! They push us!” shouted one of the adult accused, in an outburst that drew only the most mild admonishment from the bench.

“They push us!” These guys were allegedly planning mass death for Canadian civilians, but they’re complaining about a little shove. Which probably never happened. Terrorists are trained to make claims identical to the ones these suspects are wielding both in Canada and against the US at Gitmo. The press and the softheaded left have been swallowing it all whole for years. It’ll be interesting to see how Canada responds to the accusations, and whether Canadians may re-think their ritual condemnations of us.

A panoply of lawyers, speaking outside the courtroom, bandied about stunning accusations and egregious condemnations, huffing and puffing about insufficient exercise time, small cells, sleep deprivation, lights kept on all the time, improper disclosure by the Crown, and seclusion from the general jail population such that it constitutes de facto solitary confinement.

I suspect it will take time for all of this to sink in on our cousins. The terrorist smears won’t really change their minds; only a successful attack is likely to do that.

Meanwhile, SeeDubya reports that common sense is at least descending from an American federal court re terrorism. Such a thing was well nigh impossible before 9-11. Expect the ACLU to fight it tooth and nail.

Um, they COULD have had a pair of 500 pounders visit them instead of the RCMP!

Let me see…wonder how these idiots would react if the RCMP flew them up to the frozen north and dropped them off naked so they could meet some friendly polar bears? Wonder if they could convert the polar bears before they became lunch?

clyde, you may have solved a huge problem for the polar bears – environmentalists ought to rejoyce!

As me dear ol’Grandma from Newfoundland used to say,

It the pot calling the kettle black.

Let them spend a day or two in the frozen north in January, then we would have our first official Muslimcicles.
Or is it “Jihadcicles”. Mohammadcicles. I like it.

clyde on June 15, 2006 at 1:58 PM

Well well well. The Canadians are now witnessing the same Muslim legal tactics they’ve used against the USA.
I hope the Harper government will show some guts but Canada may just be too PC to cope with all of this.

BOO FRICKEN HOO. Who would have thought you don’t get the royal treatment when you plan to murder innocent people. Get over it!
