[...] President Bush made a surprise visit to Iraq today, visiting troops and speaking in Baghdad as it was announced that 70,000 coalition forces, mostly Iraqi, are preparing to fully secure Baghdad. Iraqi police, commandos, soldiers and emergency police will be deployed over the course of the next few days to secure checkpoints on Baghdad’s roads, and enforce a ban on civilians carrying weapons. They will also wear new uniforms to distinguish them from terrorist insurgents who frequently wear stolen police or military outfits before carrying out attacks. This is the largest operation in the capitol since the U.S. turnover to Iraqis in June 2004. [...]

Another great part of the speech:

Our work is not done with the formation of a unity government. This government is just getting started. And the enemies of a free Iraq will do everything they can to stop the progress. That should tell us something about the enemies of a free Iraq. Who wouldn't want the people's will to be expressed? Who wouldn't want a government to be able to meet the needs of the people? Those who kill the innocent lives or those who have no concept of liberty, have no sense of justice, have no respect for human rights and human dignity.

Does anyone else see how this doesn't just apply to the jihadis? Before I got to the last sentence I was thinking of the other "enemies of a free Iraq" — by practice if not by declaration: the mainstream media.

Oliver North called the surprise visit "Churchillian."

Alan Colmes implied that by not getting their permission first, Bush was not respecting Iraq's sovereignty.(?)

Unbelievable.

It doesn't matter what Bush does, if he personally apprehended Bin Laden the liberals would find a way to criticize it.

Hurras for Bush! He did what no liberal could do. He put his life on the line to buck up the troops, and the new Iraqi government. I guess that Murta will be the next to go to Iraq in order to guarentee that the troops are placed under lock, and key...

Ok. So Bill supports keeping the troops there while he is against the war, and Hitlary is booed because she stands by the vote she made? I guess liberals prefer someone like Kerry who refuses to take a coherant stand because they can relate to him better.

BTW, what about Global Warming? Don't liberal's care that we are all dead in 9+ years according to AlBore?

Summary of today: It is good to be a conservative in America. ;o)

I hope the Liberals NOTICED THE THUNDEROUS APPLAUSE THE TROOPS GIVE PRESIDENT BUSH!!!

Liberals - take notice that THE TROOPS LOVE BUSH, THEY VOTE OVERWHELMINGLY FOR BUSH (80% for Bush).

The Troops do not care for the liberals and their so-called "support"

The Troops do not like who the Liberals vote for.

The Troops would not applaud Kerry - they might give him a one-handed clap and while they are doing that they would love to spit on him for the way he caused a generation of good soldiers to get spit on back in the 70's.

The only thing about Iraq that Liberals love is when something bad happens with our troops - Ouuuuu 2500 are dead, let's light candles and blame Bush!! I can't wait till we get to 3000!!! Hope it's a nice night with no rain, so we can chant, "Bring them Home Now"

The Liberals JUST DON"T GET IT.. THIS IS A JIHAD, AND THE TROOPS WANT TO FIGHT IT....

Bush is grateful the troops are fighting against the Jihad.
Bush gets it, he knows we are in for the fight of our lives and BUSH LOVES THE TROOPS!! AND IT SHOWS...

BUSH KNOWS - IT'S THE JIHAD STUPID... (the liberals don't know it's a Jihad, they think it's a crime....)

Earth to the Liberals - THE TROOPS DON'T WANT TO COME HOME NOW, THEY WANT TO COME HOME - WHEN THE JOB IS FINISHED!!!

Liberals - Shut the hell up and let them do what they need AND WANT to do! Liberals - let the troops bring death to the Jihadists, so we have a chance to live in peace.

GOD BLESS THEIR BRAVE BELOVED COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF
THANK YOU TROOPS
THANK YOU MILITARY FAMILIES!

Reading the whole transcript is well worth it (thanks for including that, Allah). Love this:

Ultimately, the victory in the war on terror, the victory in a struggle against those who have no ideology -- well, they've got an ideology, but it's an ideology that is dark and dismal. It's one that doesn't respect human dignity. It's an ideology that doesn't believe in the freedom to worship. It's an ideology that doesn't respect the role and rights of women in society. It's an ideology that has no hope. The way to defeat that ideology is with an ideology of light. I believe in the universality of freedom. I believe deep in everybody's soul is the desire to be free.

GASP! What will the multiculturalists say? "Maybe it's just part of their culture to be oppressed! Maybe they like it that way!" Someone has been reading his Sharansky.

Bush showed the members of the Useful Idiot brigade that he has a gigantic set of brass one's yet again. Granted some of his domestic policies have me bit irked, i.e. immagration, but with that aside he did right by the troops to pop in to say at the very least thank you to our troops in Iraq and at the most to show his utmost respect for them and the vital job they are doing.

Didnt see Bill "Which National Security secrets should I sell to the Chinese in exchange for money" Clinton doing that...or Jimmy "Can I get another Nobel Prize if I renounce my U.S. Citzenship" Carter. But fear not, in their place, we are likely to see dems jockeying to be the next politican showing up in Iraq.

The difference between Bush and all the rest is, he is a man of his word. All the rest pander to the screams of a small minority and we all know who I mean.

Admittedly, he's not a great speaker, but he has his moments.

I don't judge the man by his speech's, cause talk is cheap, I judge by actions. And this action speaks volumes.

Overall, it's icing on the cake.

To counter Bush's propaganda flight to Baghdad, Kerry decided to boldly fly his private jet into the Bermuda Triangle and landed right onto Bermuda.

President Bush made a very daring move. It should make us all proud of him. The speech he gave to the troops was excellent. He honored the members of the Iraqi government.

If only President Bush could be as bold and daring when it comes to protected our country from the invasion we are under right now. If only he could be strong and a true leader when it comes to illegal aliens.

BTW, Kerry is an A--hole, along with both Clintons, Gore, Reid and the rest of the democraps

I spilled my coffee when I read this quote from Kerry:

"We cannot have it both ways," he said to shouts of "tell that to Hillary."

Does he even listen to himself?

FINALLY, a good speech......
I truely felt the sincerity in his voice.
It was obvious that those that protect our freedoms did as well.
God bless them and protect them.

It is a speach like this that the left-wing kooks hate. Bush is a manly- man the left hates manly-men. Eat your heart out Al Gore. Stand in the corner and cry John F'n Kerry.
