Truthout finally responds: “We have put our cards on the table”

This is almost as much fun as Rathergate.
Update: Speaking of which, savor the irony of the Kossacks — who famously defended the preposterously forged Bush/TANG memos on their front page — congratulating themselves on their track record of accuracy.
Update: Goldstein’s got another excerpt from dKos. What do you think? Is it a typical Kossack lie? Or, god help us, is he telling the truth about his infant daughter having already been brainwashed? Update: This is too funny. Follow the links, but only if you’ve read Goldstein’s piece first. The Kossack in question has to be a troll, in which case let me be the first to say: well done, sir.
Update: Spruiell wants names.
Update: FROGMARCH!
Update: More gloating at NewsBusters.

Now that they’ve put their cards on the table, how long before they do themselves a favor, and fold?

See the escape hatch Leopold is trying to build?
1. Rove really WAS indicted, it is the Sealed v. Sealed indictment.
2. The indictment will never be unsealed, because Fitz is using it to pressure Rove to cooperate.
3. Thus, cub reporter Leopold was in fact correct even though Rove’s indictment will never be announced, so leave him alone.
I wonder how long it took him to invent this scenario.

They are still saying that Stalin was innocent of all those lies against him!
Warner Todd Huston on June 13, 2006 at 12:51 PM
You got to know when to hold ‘em, and know when to fold ‘em. Truthout…doesn’t.

Giggle fits I’m having, over the comments over there. They are cannibals!

If TO-truthout- was a ship, all the sailors would be in the water. Splash-splash-splash- They ARE Jumping ship. Why no mutiny? You dont take over a ship with that many holes in it.
I call, and raise an oar….hehehe

Our Cards are on the Table. Those cards must be tarot. He gets a full house and their reporting careers die.

One of my fav comments from TO site:
“This is one major disappointment.
Now the question IS:
Is Fitzgerald a part of Bushco’s Coverup process? “
Clark1 on June 13, 2006 at 1:09 PM
I don’t care you still did it! You still did it! And if you didn’t do that you did something else so we’ll keep investigating you until we find something you did!
Defector01 on June 13, 2006 at 1:09 PM
Here is a question for everyone. Do you think OutOfTruth’s Leopold is ever going to name his sources?
I say nay. How about you?
tommy1 on June 13, 2006 at 1:09 PM
Well, at least they got to tarnish Rove’s reputation for a couple of years. Time to make up some new trash on another Republican and go after them.
I wish someone would write a book about how heinous this tactic is.

Karl Rove is the only man that can defeat Chuck Norris.
Karl has more jedi skills that Darth Vader and Yoda combined.
Karl Rove should be cannonized for sainthood for this miracle of dodging the Fitzmas indictment.
Karl Rove can defeat the X-men because he has more mutant powers than the KosKids and the brotherhood of evil mutants combined.
Karl Rove is the only White House Staffer than can dunk on Kobe.

My favorite comment on the OutOfTruth thread:
We, your devoted readers trusted in you, believed you, put our own reputations on the line defending you. Some of us even had to pay 150 dollar bets to right wing neo-con nut jobs based on your reporting and you respond by saying;
LMAO.
tommy1 on June 13, 2006 at 1:22 PM
Wow, now I know where to go to observe the largest BDS infected area on the net. (2nd to kus or kas or kos, whatever they call that site)
It’s just amazing these people have the metal capacity to breathe air, much less type on a computer.
Idea for the tinfoil’s, send TO more $$, since this one looks to have run it course, I am sure w/ a little cash from the faithful, another TO scoop can be manufactured to keep hope alive!
Speaking truth to power my ars! LOL! ~B

Another zinger:
Thank you, Truthout, for making all of us laughingstocks, complete with tin-foil antennas and our own version of WMD. How sad that we have become “them.” At this point, I think there is nothing left to do but apologize and shut down this site.

There is a funny reprint there of an angry Jason Leopold e-mail sent yesterday.
pjcomix on June 13, 2006 at 1:37 PM
Guess one could say that TO is “all in.”
BTW, it’s great watching the trolls beat each other up there in the comments.

“Rove has more credibility than this.” There’s the kiss of death.
Mark V. on June 13, 2006 at 1:49 PM
Is this Goldstein guy for realor is he some nut job writhing this in the asylum?
This is top notch soap opera crap destined not to make old ladies cry but make old men die:
“When I finished her lower lip started to tremble and her eyes began to fill with tears, “Daddy” she said, “why are the Republicans doing this to the country?” Well, that was it for me: I finally fell apart. She just fell into my arms and we both began sobbing for several minutes.”
Is this guy the one who wrote the “Will and Grace” script?
easy87us on June 13, 2006 at 1:57 PM
Sigh. Goldstein didn’t write it, easy. He’s quoting it from the Kos site.
Allahpundit on June 13, 2006 at 1:57 PM
So this is what its like when you get coal in your stocking on Fitzmas.
Iblis on June 13, 2006 at 2:00 PM
Hey, don’t missed this one.
Pat Kennedy just said in a PR “I do not remember what had happened that night.”
Do you see that? This is the same reason Ted gave to the cops the morning after!!!
SAME ANSWER! WOW….Is these two dudes for real?
easy87us on June 13, 2006 at 2:13 PM
DChaos, you dont have egg on your face, its an entire buffet on your face.
Prove your child said that crap. Or dont exploit the poor kid. She already has to listen to you…pain enuf!
.-.Plus, our President is keeping your brainwashed kids safe. But of couse they might go to a school w/ so many of your buddies, the Illegals, that the kids cant tell the difference between truth and false.

CNN’s Cafferty, in a conversation in October, 2005, with Wolf Blitzer, hoping that Mr. Rove would be indicted, “Oh, I understand. I’m, I’m just hoping you know. I love, I love to see those kinds of things happen. It does wonders for me.”
Well, today the actual news (vs. the wishful ones) did wonders for me!
Entelechy on June 13, 2006 at 6:53 PM
OMG! I have just spent time at Truthout, and have seen deeply into the minds of the truely dernaged. They scare me. They scare me a lot.
Is this what happened to all of those poor people who couldn’t afford the PEST cure? Maybe they are the ones that the NYT laid off…
When people worship at the altar of liberalism they lose touch with reality, and insanity results. Today I have seen the proof.
DannoJyd on June 13, 2006 at 9:13 PM
Wow. That TO thread was a blast. I thought “angry matt” was funny, then I read the comments from “LiberalBarry”.
LMAO!
John from WuzzaDem on June 13, 2006 at 9:48 PM
I’d swear CheChe from dKos is Greg Gutfeld. But apparently Gutfeld says no.
Truthout… sheesh. Pathetic. It’s just sad.

I emailed Jack about how he felt now that Rove was not indicted, and how he’ll not have to get fitted for an extra large orange jumpsuit.
I’m still waiting for a reply….
