Iran: We won’t suspend enrichment

Not a formal rejection of the U.S./European offer — that can only come from Khamenei — but pretty close. They’re being careful to emphasize, however, that some parts of the offer are “acceptable,” which guarantees another round of negotiations.
And gives them a little more time. Which brings us to our headline of the day.
I missed the big news last night but I’ll try to make amends now by pointing you to this piece in the Washington Times about western efforts to have A.Q. Khan confirm the Iranian bomb project. The focal point is the Iranian nuclear facility at Lavizan; the Iranians destroyed it in 2004 before the IAEA could inspect, but the Telegraph says the equipment might have been moved to a new location so that the bombmaking project (code-named Zirzamin 27) can continue. The U.S. wants to talk to Khan to see what he knows about Lavizan.
Remember, the IAEA report due out this week reportedly says they’ve found new traces of highly-enriched uranium on Iran’s equipment.

If we “talk” to em long enough, it just won’t matter anymore.

Someone send him a picture of Udai and Qusai and Al’Z, preferably painted on the side of a JDAM!
It’s that enough already! Let’s just get it over with and get on with Democracy building!
BYW, can someone tell me whatever happened to the Bush Doctrine?

Someone needs to remind Bush that, as he said, “WE DO NOT NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORISTS!”
Have we learned nothing from the 17 U.N. resolutions that led nowhere? Guess not.
Remember those brilliant words: “Those who do not learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat it.”

Perhaps if we were to ask very nicely then Dr. Khan and our allies in the government of Pakistan might consent to consider an interview when their schedule clears up a bit?

When are we going to bomb the nuclear sites and get it over with. I am sick and tired of the USA having to grovel and ask permission of a bunch of terrorist states to protect our country from external threats.
I say we send in the air force and bomb all of Iran Nuclear sites ASAP.

I say to hell with Iran, let the missles fly! This is not going to end well if something isn’t done soon. By that I mean that they will have a nuke and give or sell it to terrorists who set it off in America or Britain. Then the s*it will really hit the fan.

The U.N. needs to send Angelina Jolie over there to do the deal. That way they can say they put their smartest person on the case.

Hmmm…We we have wondered what new and improved weapons our military scientists developed in the last 4 years…and it looks like Iran is going to get a front row seat.

The interesting thing here is how any Iranian learned how to make a bomb, if they are indeed doing it, unless they were NOT educated in the Muslim Madrasa schools. If they are products of Madrasa, they wouldn’t be able to read the instruction book. The people that are doing this probably were educated at MIT or Cal Berkeley or NYU. We shall see..
I still say Israel will take care of the problem, sooner than later, and let the world go to hell talking about it afterwards.
clyde on June 12, 2006 at 2:00 PM
Does anyone that actually knows the minds at work in Iran really believe that they will stop working on enrichment? They have 2 goals. Get the bomb, use it on Israel. Seems like we should get that by now.
sMack on June 12, 2006 at 7:39 PM
They won’t stop enrichment? Fine, then we won’t stop our missiles. Buh bye loser.
