Violent crime “unexpectedly” surges in Baltimore
Reports of the death of political campaign reporting are greatly exaggerated
Murtha, those who vote for him, the 5th column, and the rest of the Liberals comdemned Pantano.
Pantano ended up exonerated and is standing proud, just as our Marines from Haditha will be.
LIBERALS MOTTO – do all you can to create hysteria, protest, and cause trouble for our Troops.

Thanx in large part to the Web the MSM Haditha story is falling apart faster than Nifong’s Duke rape case.

US Marine Corp Lt. Pantano is a fine example of a Marine leader and Officer. I knew and know many like him from my time in the Corp. and makes me very proud to be a brother in arms with the Lt.
Murtha…not so much. In fact no honor, no respect, no leadership. Just another John Kerry in Marines clothing.
Wade on June 12, 2006 at 10:12 AM
Thank you Hotair, & Michelle
For the truth and proud standings for our Troops..
May God Bless Lt. Pantano and his family.
And for the left and the sorry UN they can all leave our country and the human rights ought to see in their way of ended Gitmo, because the terrorist doesn’t want to go back to their own country.
They know how good they have it here.
The freaks that die in there was of their own doing .
Murtha will get his turn soon , just with his vile diarrhea mouth.
alyce on June 12, 2006 at 10:13 AM
To hold the US Marines at a higher standard is what makes the Marines proud to be Marines because they are of a higher caliber than the soldiers from other countries. Our Marines indeed value their honor, valor, and comradeship higher than their own life.
However, our leaders also have to consider the possibility of overdoing it for political reason.
Hidatha has all the signs of overdoing it for political reason.

Best vent yet. This is real reporting. OUTSTANDING real reporting. Thank you – and kudos to you, Michelle.
And HEY REPUBLICANS – are you paying attention? Listen up: if this guy is NOT on a ballot somewhere in about five minutes the Republican leadership is dumber than I think they are.
I’ll say it right now: this guy should be a Senator in about 5 minutes, and assuming he’s old enough, he ought to get the nod for the VP nomination in 2012 at the latest. Maybe even 2008. With his brains, experience, charisma, military background, verbal eloquence (and those movie star looks) … THIS is the type of candidate we need.
THIS is the guy I want to vote for.
I hope somebody else has already had that thought and started the ball rolling.
In the meantime: where can I get a look at that editorial he wrote? And where are the details on his book tour?
Professor Blather on June 12, 2006 at 10:28 AM
Kudos Michelle. I also heard a lot about this case on talk radio. Especially Michael Savage and Sean Hannity. The alternative media is making a huge difference and I thank you.
roninacreage on June 12, 2006 at 10:29 AM
We need more media coverage like this. From my perspective of 24 years in the military, I believe 99.9% of men and women in our armed forces (active duty, reserve & guard) have the same core values as Pantano. The MSM seems only interested in the 0.1% that are the “bad apples”. Thanks to people like Michelle our voices can still be heard. God Bless anyone who appreciates and supports the U.S. military men and women stationed here and around the world.

Prof Blather, Pantano’s editorial is the top link next to the Vent.

I agree with Professor Blather! Thank you for a wonderful interview and vent! This man is the best of us and was almost railroaded by false charges. It is despicable and seems to be happening again! God Bless Lt Patano and his family..his Mother seems to be one heck of a woman too!
labwrs on June 12, 2006 at 11:37 AM
It’s a damm shame that someone of the standards of Lt. Pantano is put threw Hell because of some low life sargent. Lt. Pantano is just the type of man or woman we want to stay in the armed forces of the US. THe left-wing 5th column will go to any extreme to destroy are war effort and this country. How many more people have to die, how many more peoples lives have be ruined just so the Clintons, John F’n Kerry, Al gore and the rest get the power back so that they ruin our country? The leadership of the Dimmocrap party makes me want to vomit. The left must be stopped!
birdman on June 12, 2006 at 12:09 PM
Great vent, and thanks for once again bringing light to Lt. Pantano’s case. What they did to him and what they are doing to the Marines accused in the incident at Haditha is an absolute disgrace.
I find it even more disturbing that the chain of command, due to political considerations, even lets things get as far as they did with Lt. Pantano and those currently accused of atrocities.
Holding them to high, even higher standards, is fine – engaging in a witch hunt is most definitely not, especially one conducted by media whores and JAGs who lack even 1/10 of 1% of the testicular fortitude of our Marines, soldiers, sailors and airmen who keep us safe.
thirteen28 on June 12, 2006 at 12:43 PM
And I repeat: when and where is this guy running for elected office?
Note to any of you who haven’t followed the link to the “Defend the Defenders” website – don’t miss it. It is an outstanding website (and a wonderfully original idea).
Professor Blather on June 12, 2006 at 1:12 PM
Professor Blather: I agree 120% with you we need many more people of the high moral fiber of Lt. Pantano to run for elected office. Professor can you imagine the anal exam that MSM will put this guy threw? Questions about his service in Iraq. What happened? When did it happen? Where did this incident happen? The MSM will go to the extreme to tear Lt. Pantano down. I sure as heck wish he would move here to N.J. and run for the Senate.
birdman on June 12, 2006 at 1:30 PM
im on my way to the book store now!
thank you michelle as always…you are the best!!!
mike hale on June 12, 2006 at 1:35 PM
Amen. The MSM would try to tear him down, but it would inevitably backfire, and backfire badly.
Did you see his interview with Ann Curry? He handled her ridiculously biased attack with absolute grace and elegance. Didn’t back down an inch; didn’t get angry. Just made her look foolish.
If he runs in New Jersey, I’m moving to New Jersey. And I was serious about the Vice President thing. A young, vibrant war hero type could be a brilliant addition to the ticket.
Been a long time since I saw somebody I could get really excited about seeing run for office.
And yeah – it would drive the MSM and the far left moonbats INSANE. And hell, with that “no better friend, no worse enemy” slogan (see that Ann Curry if you haven’t), he’s already got his bumper stickers designed.
Professor Blather on June 12, 2006 at 1:36 PM
Conservatives must form a PAC to concentrate in replacing RINOs with people like Pantano.
I am ready to contribute….
easy87us on June 12, 2006 at 1:40 PM
Professor: I had troube down loading the Curry vid I will go back to it later. If you do move to NJ you are under orders to move to the town that I live in South Jersey. If you defy my order you WILL be thrown into the BRIG. Professor you are right on the MSM’s attack on Lt Pantano would backfire. Isn’t it amazing how predictable the MSM and their let-wing friends in the Dimocrap Party are? Let me repeat; IT’S THE BRIG FOR YOU IF YOU DEFY MY ORDER!
birdman on June 12, 2006 at 1:49 PM
Prof Blather – I’m with you, let’s hope he runs for something someday.
I would proudly vote for him, send him contributions, and pound the sidewalk to get him elected.
By the way, all the Marines I met at Fleet Week and elsewhere are SHINING EXAMPLES of men who aspire to a higher standard – they truly are OUR GREATEST PATRIOTS.
PS – let’s all go out and buy his book!!

yYu, me, and Professor Blather – We’ll form South Jersey Republican Club.
(note: if Pantano runs in another state – we’ll just go there)
Richard Davis on June 12, 2006 at 2:10 PM
Richard Davis: Mays Landing. Maybe we could get Michelle to move back to South Jersey also we need all the help we can get. I am orginally from Camden. Lets turn Jersey RED. The Dimmocrap machine has destroyed the state, over the last 30 years or so we have had only 3 GOP Govs Cahill, Whitman, Kean. Richard do you stil live in Philly? THe libs have really screwed that town to. Philly once was “the city of brotherely love”, there was no finer town anywhere.
birdman on June 12, 2006 at 2:24 PM
What a commanding presence he brings to an interview…very impressive.
Thank you, Lt. Pantano for your Honor, Courage and Commitment to our country.
The Ugly American on June 12, 2006 at 2:30 PM
Could it be any clearer the direction this country is taking and the fact that it’s true character can be seen in the faces of our military men and women! Take, for example, the military careers of three young Marine officers:
John Murtha, enlisted during Korea and was a high ranking officer who contributed to the mess what was Vietnam.
John Kerry, enlisted during Vietnam and was a mess all to himself.
Ilario Pantano, enlisted during the Gulf War, re-enlisted following 9-11.
My God, can the American Military get any better?

Fantastic vent – probably the best I’ve seen! Also, Ann Curry sounded like an idiot – and realized it, judging from her visible discomfort as she tried to shift gears after taking issue w/ Ilario Pantano’s remarks.
As for the book – it was #42 on Amazon when I first read Michelle’s thread – now #26 after just a couple of hours!
With thanks to the Washington Times, here’s a brief excerpt:
“I found it weird how Europeans always sought to criticize us. I had [British Broadcasting Corp. reporter] Paul and his cameraman out on a patrol with us and he was constantly fishing for comments from me. Finally he made a claim that was bound to [tick us] off: ‘You Marines are good, but a British patrol would have done things much differently.’
“Really?” I said. “Paul, how long have the Brits been fighting in Northern Ireland?”
“Thirty years,” he said.
“I pounced. ‘Seems like a long time. How do you define success?’ ”
If this sort of thing doesn’t get you ordering or running out to the bookstore, check your pulse!

I viewed this today right after recieveing word from my oldest daughter on her decision to join the United States Air Force. To say I am proud of her does not even come close to what I feel. My military service was during peace time. (1980-1984).
Her decision to join dureing wartime was a true patriotic choice. The pride I have in your troops overseas has never been higher than it is right now, and no leftwing propaganda or hyperventilating will change that. My daughter has absolutely zero intrest in politics. However, she does have an intrest in serving her country, and doing the right thing. For that, I am as proud as any father can be.
MalkinFan on June 12, 2006 at 6:11 PM
birdman – no, I do not like Philly anymore (sad to say…) it’s getting really bad. Yesterday 4 black youths (thugs) about 14 hasseled me on the street in broad daylight. I was wearing my ballcap with an American Flag on the front, and they were coming the other way and I overheard them saying, “Look at this motherf’r” and when I got to them they said, “cool sunglasses, give ‘em to me” I thought it was gonna go hand-to-hand, but I just whisked by them and luckily they didn’t follow me.. this time…
About a week ago, 2 ladies were robbed at gun point, near my house, and one of the thugs pistol whipped a woman and broke her nose, after he took her money…..
And I live in a DECENT part of the city…
Thank you Liberals for continuing to vote Democrat here in Philly. John Street blames George Bush… says gun laws are the problem.
City council wants to sue Geno’s steaks (he makes his customers “speak English”- how horrible!!) Yet we have the worst murder rate in the country and John Street blames Bush and gun laws. He won’t hire more cops or let them “stop and search” the bad guys (the cops know who the drug dealer/gang thugs are when they see them walking around) everyone is too scared to testify…. it’s terrible here.
Thanks to THE LIBERALS!!!
Ummm, we need to get together and form our Republican Club and make good things happen. Here and New Jersey.
Richard Davis on June 12, 2006 at 6:34 PM
MalkinFan – God Bless you and your daughter!!!
I can’t say this following enough:
THANK YOU TROOPS
THANK YOU MILITARY FAMILIES
We love you, we are so proud of you.

birdman – one more thing, you lived in Camden! hah! – another cesspool.. what a junkyard that city is…

The Liberals didn’t dominate the voting in Camden, did they??

Brah on June 12, 2006 at 6:46 PM
Just heard Pantano on the radia with Hannity. He said “every terrorists that shoots at us or we kill, looks like a civilian, Zarqawi looked like a civilian.”
He said, “It takes a village to plant an IED, including women and children, lots of people needed for digging, mapping, reconnisance”
He also said his unit found an IED at 2AM with a flashlight, it was a 500 lb bomb, the wires led to a civilian home,
He said “The saddest part of it was that across the street from the bomb was a new school that was going to open the next day…”
and at the end of the wire, at the house, was a 12 year old boy. When they approached the boy, he said his father had been killed and that “bad guys” were making him do it.
Pantano said the boy was crying and he might have been telling the truth.
Pantano said this is the type of war they are fighting… civilians are the terrorists and vice-versa..
This is totally consistent with what I’ve been hearing from the Marines I’m friends with and drank beer with during Fleet Week.
Richard Davis on June 12, 2006 at 6:57 PM
Righard Davis: I knew a lot of great people from Philly, and went out with some nice girls from your city. One of my hangouts in center city in the late 60’s and early 70’s was Franks the 347 Bar (dirty Franks)at 13th & Pine. Philly was a great town. I remember my father telling me that Joe Clark was the first Dem mayor of Philly in 1950, I was only 3 yrs old then. It was all down hill from there. I come from the Fairview section of Camden, the Jersey side of the W. Wittmann bridge. Thanks for reminding me of Gino’s steaks being sued by the city, I just saw the headline over at World Net Daily I will go back to read the story. Yes we do need to get together; anytime, Philly or NJ, maybe we can bring some people together. Talk to you later.

Prof Blather and others: You beat me to it. What an impressive, intelligent guy this is! I think the more we see of him, the better for our side.
mikeyboss on June 12, 2006 at 9:10 PM
I agree with professor Blather. Lets start grooming this man for political office. We need to find men (and women) of this degree of moral fiber and groom them to be representatives, judges, and civil servants when they return. He needs to be running for Senator somewhere right now.
CountryDoc on June 12, 2006 at 11:34 PM
As with the over 10 million weekly listeners to Michael Savage we heard this first there…what disturbs me is that after all of our donations to his defense to make his freedom possible there is nothing here except…”radio and internet users”….well it was the Savage Nation that brought this out first from your Mother’s mouth who was desperate — as we are all doing now with Haditha Marines! (Where are you Lt Pantano with us for them?)
My thanks as a 30yr Military Vet is to see him (and now Haditha Marine Vets of there bondage without charges) free….but be careful Lt Pantano when you don’t thank true grassroots Americans that cared and ensured and (like Michael Savage listeners) who helped you get your freedom……
DiverMike — Proud American — but disgusted right now….
DiverMike on June 13, 2006 at 1:22 AM
DiverMike — With all due respect, sir, I suggest you read Pantano’s book and his acknowledgements section, in which he singles out Savage and many, many, many countless Americans who came to his defense, before you pop off.
Regarding Pantano and Haditha: Are you not paying attention to his every interview so far in which he warns against the rush to judgment against the Marines in Haditha? Did you not click on the very first link included above to his May 27th piece lashing back at Rep. Murtha over Haditha madness?
I am disgusted right now, too…with your baseless lecture about ingratitude. “Be careful Lt Pantano.” What is that? A threat?
You be careful. I don’t want to see crap like that here.
Michelle on June 13, 2006 at 1:44 AM
I thank you for what you give us here at HotAir….
No I haven’t read his book (nor can I afford it), but only hear sound bites (like here and MSM when it is only nano-seconds long….and only for their benefit) — which does and always will disgust me when thanks are not given where it is do or written words are taken out of context.
I do not have the time nor the money to read books like this or Anne’s that do not give proper credit where it is due – because there is an agenda that I or we can’t understand (Liberalism is a mental disorder…..wonder where she got that?) due to limited time in the day. I would rather read books like your’s or Michael Savage’s that go ‘where no one has gone before”.
What I have time and more is for is being a true AMERICAN — who gave his soul and life for over thirty years to our great COUNTRY (1973-2003), and would do more if given the chance (can you say that??). You are great on the illegal invasion of our country….but really are a cheerleader with Bush and the NSA on wiretapping – (you really should contact me…I will give you an eye opener on this and the other!! Sorry…been there done that with both!!)
What I am saying is like what Anne C is going through now….tell the rest of the story (like Paul Harvey says) instead of sound bites…..it doesn’t do justice for American’s that have no time to read their books but rely on those like you Michelle to give us all in a good synopsis…..and who are trying to defend our Country (and as FOX news says…fair and balanced!)
Michael Savage and his listeners are gearing up for another battle with the Haditha Marines….that have more than what Lt Pantano had on the line — was he shackled before being charged (no), was the MSM against him (yes), was the brass all the way to the White house condemning him before being charged (no)?? — and just to say ‘thanks’ to all in sound bites like this would do wonders for our own moral to continue this ‘enemy within’ battle – as those fighting for his brethren now and months from now!
Michelle….don’t ever question me….I joined the military and served 30yrs against my family wishes during Vietnam (and lost them — did you?) and only to find now it was not outside forces that were bent on our destruction, but only to find the true enemy is within has been doing that for decades…..and if you think an old Vet like me is threatening when he states “be careful Lt Pantano when you don’t thank true grassroots Americans that cared and ensured and (like Michael Savage listeners) who helped you get your freedom……” is a threat…then you too Michelle are just like MSM….
If you think we who don’t agree with you are we are worthless….you are just like the MSM….too bad….. I only wish Ben Franklin and his ‘ilk’ were still around – then I could get the truth…..
DiverMike – Proud American who is very educated…served 30yrs in our military, and knows more than you think!
DiverMike on June 13, 2006 at 2:53 AM
DiverMike, I think Michelle has every right to question you.
I don’t see that you answered her concerns at all.
theholyhermit on June 13, 2006 at 3:55 AM
I beleive you are a bit off base here.
You did not read “Warlord” So you did not get to see his Acknowledgement and thanks to Savage and other Americans that helped him.
You admit that All you have seen are the sound bites, and you not only rush to judge the Lt, you also tells Michelle (and probaly me) that we can not DARE to question you because “you served for thirty years”.
This is the same argument the jersey Girls use.
It is unfortunate that you lost your family because you joined up. I thank you for your service, but that does not mean that I will walk on egg shells around you.
It looks like you just pulled a Murtha with your comments about Lt Pantano. He DOES acknowledge Savage and even your (and others like you) help. But because you did not hear it on the news you are ready to convict him of the crime of ingratitude, and then unjustly compare Michele to the MSM because she points it out?
E-mail me your address. I will send you my copy of Coulters book and Warlord once I have finished it.
Read the books, then make informed comments. If you are going to argue based on what you see on the news and ignore the facts then you are no better then most at the KOS, and I truly believe you are better then that.
Wyrd on June 13, 2006 at 7:11 AM
