Borders lost my business when they refused to sell the April/May issue of Free Inquiry because it contained reprints of the Mohammed cartoons. This news comes as no surprise.

john updike??? my oh my. and he’s SUCH the authority on islamic extremism… let’s just UNDERSTAND them. They had TERRIBLE childhoods, they were BEATEN, forced to walk 5 miles to school, barefoot and in the hot, dry desert sand. Poor, poor, deprived souls. if only we UNDERSTOOD them better, they wouldn’t want to use airplanes as missiles, behead our children, poison our water supply and bomb our refineries.

Ahh! John Updike–When I first heard of him–back in the day–I asked my mother-in-law what she thought of his books and short stories. I’ll quote her response. “He’s good at describing pubic hair as beautiful, and I care not to read another beautiful description of pubic hair ever again.”

Its a good thing Updike witnessed this incident, or else someone might believe the towers fell because of timed detonations. As to the cause, there is a Police Chief in Toronto who has an ‘inticate graph’ that might explain the matter. Politics was his conclusion. It was the Jews and Americans fault.

When do we get a novel that deals sympathetically with a prison guard at Dachau?
