And, “Letterman” is WHO exactly?

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLLLLLLOOOOLLOLlol.

But OJ is innocent.

I still back Ann 100% on this. Especially since it riled the beasts hackles. Ann is saying exactly what I can’t say..the widows need to shut up and Hillary should be minding where Bill is hanging these days. Those widows are getting lonelier by the hour.

Sandys Beach on June 8, 2006 at 10:05 AM

…Ann Coulter has made some crazy statements about 9/11???
What about the crazy statment the “widows’ are making, what about the crazy statements Charlie Sheen made about 9/11, what about the crazy statements the whole stinking leftoid side is making. Letterman, you are a fool of major proportions!

Sandys Beach on June 8, 2006 at 10:08 AM

Ann Coulter doesn’t need to apologize to anyone! Her comments piss off the left, but she’s telling the TRUTH!

For every Ann we have (that bothers the left) the liberals have HUNDREDs** of asshats that say outrageous insensitive things – but the difference is, THEY LEFTS COMMENTS ARE LIES and/or MISLEADING..

THE THINGS COULTER SAYS WON’T HURT US,

But the liberals comments are harming the war effort and getting our troops killed.

**(Ward Churchill, Rangel, Carter, Belifonte, Dean, Michael Moore, Al Gore, Kerry, Billary, Pelosi, Kennedy/s, Jesse J, Al Sharpton, Farakan, Harry Reid, etc – can anyone else think of any other MURTHA F’ERs out there??)

Letterman’s a partisan liberal boob…

These women “Jersey Girls” Like Sheehan go to all these events like it is a Movie Premiere and they are given the Red Carpet treatment. “Hands in the Air, like they just don’t care” smiling, laughing, signing autographs, photo ops..and ralleys of unbathed American Hating people who would make Hitler Proud.

Are they enjoying their husband’s Deaths??? You bet they are!!!! They are celebrities now.

And a lot of people are re-enforcing what Ann said. Not only are you NOT ALLOWED to question their Infallibility, but it Implies that people MUST come out to their defense.

havok on June 8, 2006 at 10:15 AM

I call them “pimptims”. A combo of pimps and victims. Like pimps they want to be paid off, and as victims they pimp themselves to push their liberal agenda. Very much in the mold of Jackson and Sharpton. Money fixes everything in the end.

roninacreage on June 8, 2006 at 10:23 AM

After being ‘toasted’ by Bill O’Reilly, Letterman is throwing his emote bombs from a safe distance. Letterman would do better if he stayed with anything (whatever that could be) he might know something about.
I would love to see Ann on his show though.

Speakup on June 8, 2006 at 10:38 AM

Letterman is a mindless clown and has no real impact on reality in any form. Does anybody actually care what he says or does?

rplat on June 8, 2006 at 10:48 AM

OJ is busy “out looking for the real killers”, so he doesn’t have time to fool around with Ann.

clyde on June 8, 2006 at 10:51 AM

Like Al Franken, I remember when Letterman was actually funny.

Wow, your memory is better than mine.

Thing is, Letterman’s schtick was always his condescension and disdain for his “normal human” guests and their stupid pet tricks — I just appreciated it more back when I was a snotty liberal punk who considered himself part of the intellectual elite. I suspect I grew up along the way, whereas Ol’ Dave has been paid handsomely not to.

Don’t forget: his Worldwide Pants production company was first out of the box with its “Sniper Wanted” super over candidate Bush’s image. Old dog, old tricks.

Ever notice how the left finds its way to proposing violence to their critics rather fast? Boy that Ann Coulter..she’s so mean to those poor widows..let’s kill her! (moronic audience laughter) Really sad that it comes to this.

austinnelly on June 8, 2006 at 11:12 AM

Letterman has a crush on Ann Coulter.

This sex starved deviated piece of bamboo stick always attacks the females he admired. You can count his past victims…

He has never attacked Whoopi Goldberg and Barbara Streisand.

By the way, he needs a longer pair of pants.

easy87us on June 8, 2006 at 11:15 AM

This isn’t about Ann Coulter; it’s about Letterman. David Letterman is a bonafide charter member of the Hollywood chapter of the San Francisco loons.

Letterman constantly and repeatedly, as do all the Hollywood kooks, uses his show and soapbox to bolster the platform of the lunatic left.

He and what he says, does, or TELLS YOU to do, poorly masked as comedy, should be relegated to the dung heap with the rest of Hollywood’s barking, marching dogs.

ForYourEdification on June 8, 2006 at 11:23 AM

The Left is using her comments for their own purposes and those on the right, like O-Really, who is on a never ending quest of self-promotion, fall right into the trap and it doesn’t help.

All any Conservative needs to say when confronted on this is that Ann Coulter isn’t running for office! She not a Republican spokeswomen, she not a Republican office holder, she’s not a member of the administration. She’s a writer and a journalist with conservative views and, like everyone else in this country legally (or apparently illegally) has a right express those views and that’s exactly what she’s doing.

Do I agree with everything she says? Not Always! But I do support her right to say it! Do I agree with what she said in this instance? I think, perhaps she could have been clearer, but as I understand what she was saying, so yes I do! Unfortunately, I don’t find her to be very quick on her feet when it comes to explaining her position. Now, Newt on the other hand, would have filleted them and come out smelling like a rose.

(Ok get ready Ladies!) Unfortunately, I find that most women are too emotional when confronted in a situation such as this. Take for example, the comments Ann made in reply to Hildabeast about her husband, the former Philander-in-Chief, which came off catty and shrill!

However, PIPS is another story and why is it EXACTLY that everything she says is just fine!

Dread Pirate Roberts VI on June 8, 2006 at 11:44 AM

You do get the sense Ol’ Dave is really chafing inside that clown suit that has brought him so much money.

While I disagree with some of what Coulter says (and I bought the book so I’m a paying customer), Letterman’s comments were really off the wall. Maybe we should fix Letterman up with a new writer, that might have better results.

The inane chatter from an insipid TV host.

Wil on June 8, 2006 at 11:58 AM

What Dave is actually interested in is Jennifer Anniston’s legs, which he practically drooled on when she appeared on his show recently. Acted like a kid who’d never been near a good looking woman. I bet he has to pay for it, since he undoubtedly feels the need to inform anyone of their obvious lack of perfection. Maybe he can get a few phone numbers from OJ.

I would love to see Letterman interview Ann, but he won’t dare. Having had his head handed to him on a plate by O’Reilly, Dave is at least smart enough to know that Ann would completely eviscerate him.

inmanjh on June 8, 2006 at 1:03 PM

I knew as soon as Ann’s new book came out we would see some fireworks. The libs can’t stand the truth, they know what the truth is and they get really nuts when they are exposed for what they are. Ann tells it like it is with cutting wit, and strong arguments. The OJ comment that Letterman made is way over the line, mean and hatefull, and sick.

Brah on June 8, 2006 at 1:34 PM

My only disagreement with Ann, and I haven’t read the book yet so I’m not sure if it’s really a disagreement…is that she is calling liberalism a mental disorder.

I sure hope she credits the black-listed (even in conservative circles) Michael Savage, for the term. His book, “Liberalism is a Mental Disorder” came out in ’04, I think?

I have heard Ann be referred to as “Savage in heels.”

JazzBass on June 8, 2006 at 3:33 PM

Why is it okay for the liberal establishment to imply violence toward the women that don’t fit into the boxes assigned to them? The Left is supposedly fighting the good fight against the oppression and objectification of women by the “Religious Right”, who want to put us all back in the kitchen and keep us silent.

Yet people like Letterman can advocate (by implication) that Ann suffer a violent death at the hands of OJ, Sean Penn can “joke” about burning his Ann doll with cigarettes and “violating” her… And this is acceptable? Everyone has a chuckle about the violation and domestic abuse of Ann Coulter, yet if someone on the right said that about Maureen Dowd, all hell would break loose.

But the difference is that many, many of us on the Right wouldn’t say that. We’re better than that. Because we actually believe in equal rights for all women, not just the women we agree with. We believe in equal rights for everyone, regardless of color or religion, instead of trying to keep everyone submissive with handouts.

What Letterman said is in bad taste, but it’s more than that. It’s just another example of the hypocrisy that is so prevalent throughout the Left.

I don’t have to agree with everything Ann says to believe she doesn’t deserve death and violence and violation wished upon her. Just disgusting.

violet on June 8, 2006 at 3:37 PM

I don’t remember Letter ever being funny…this was when?

But as far as that goes, he could be fixed up with Loraine Bobbitt.

ChelleFiche on June 8, 2006 at 4:00 PM

Letterman is the joke here…didn’t OJ get aquitted of that crime? What is he trying to say here…that OJ actually killed his wife and her friend…..hmmm…funny, I thought he was not guilty.

Sandys Beach on June 8, 2006 at 4:05 PM

Par for the course for Letterman; I seem to recall his puerile behavior before and during the O’Reilly segment that he did.

His relevance as well as his popularity waxed then waned a decade ago; he should’ve hung it up after that Rolling Stone cover claiming, “It’s Dave’s world – we just live in it.” But alas, no.

Spurius Ligustinus on June 8, 2006 at 5:15 PM

Hey Vanya, this thread doesn’t have anything to do with Michelle, so nobody really knows what you’re talking about. I do, as I and several others thrashed you the last time you made this statement on another thread (June 6 vent comments). Now Vanya, you and I both know that you looked very foolish in that other thread, so it baffles me why you’re trying to bring the pain back on yourself. Maybe you’re glutton for punishment. I don’t need a gimp; I don’t particularly enjoy exercising my considerable wrath on those ill-equipped to defend themselves. So, why don’t you stop trolling and try contributing something useful.

Austinnelly, you never answered my question: do you think Michelle displays good manners in her columns and videos, with all the name-calling and put-downs?

Vanya on June 8, 2006 at 7:19 PM

It really is stunning if you think about it.

A “free speech” liberal just attacked someone for expressing their views (the usual hypocrisy) … but then actually called her a “bitch” (aren’t liberals against such misogyny?) and then clearly implied that she should be killed (liberals are so violent, aren’t they?)

And not a peep from the left. It’s okay to call a woman a “bitch.” It’s okay to suggest she should be murdered by a wife-battering psychopath. And it’s okay to attempt to silence political speech.

As long you’re liberal. And as long as your target is not.

Isn’t it amazing that liberals still can’t figure out why they lose elections – when they pull stuff like this?

But the most delicious schadenfreude comes from the actual effect of all the whiners: the reality is that David Letterman almost certainly just boosted Coulter’s sales by another 100,000 books or so.

Thanks, liberals. You da bomb.

The last time that I saw Michelle on “Hardball” Chris Mathewes was not a gentleman, Chris was very rude and threw Michelle off the set. I assume the the only reason Chris threw Michelle off the show is that hs’s looking for something to improve his ratings. “The name calling”, and “put downs” are a figment of your imagination. Ann Coulter says what so many people would like to say, but are afraid to. I agree with her 100%. Several years ago when I saw the Jersey girls I thought they seemed happy to be in the limelight and getting all the attention. Looks like I was a little ahead of the game. Glad there are a lot others who feel the same way and have the stones to say it.
Michelle is a lady who speaks the truth, also. The libs just can’t stand that the conservatives have such classy ladies when all they have is PIAPS and Pelosi, McKinney and Sheila Lee, Boxer, etc.

Who knows how many closet conservatives there are in the entertainment world afraid to speak openly?

Because your remark does this implicitly by suggesting Coulter’s behavior is every bit as outrageous as, for example, Hajj Amin al-Husseini urging the Nazis to step up the pace.

Also: your conflation of journalism (Coulter) with politics (“let’s make Ann the GOP nominee in ’08″) is telling.

Sure it was just a joke! I have one for Dave:
“Great news! Ann Coulter just got the Tonight Show-they’re dumping Leno!”

Doug on June 10, 2006 at 1:42 AM

Funny, I just rewatched HBO’s “The Late Shift.” The one abt Leno and Letterman (Late Night Wars in the early 90′s), Littlefield and Ovitz, Morty and Helen Pushnik, Mushnik, Cushnik (?), (Leno’s AGENT in capital letters played by Kathy Bates), etal. As portrayed in the movie, everybody except Morty and a couple of others, is nuts.
“The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno emerged as the ratings winner beginning with the appearance of Hugh Grant so cutely telling of his brush with LA Law.
Personally, the two times I watched him, I found Letterman to be scary and weird, and Leno sorta funny the two times I watched him.

Vanya…

Nobody is taking your bait. Perhaps you should call Dave and get some pointers on how to bait someone?!

Letterman is a has-been. He’s never been funny and with 12 mil/year, you’d think he could get that gap in his teeth fixed.

However much of a loser he is, he is doing to you guys what Ann does to the left. He gets you talking by getting your goat. He’s not running for office. He’s trying to get ratings and get attention by making desperate statements and promoting violence against a journalist. OJ was acquitted of the charges of murder for Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. I call that slander and libel and I think Ann and OJ should both sue him and CBS and the same 12 liberal congressmen should send him a letter demanding a public apology. It could be a red-carpet event and the Jersey Girls could be invited too. Ron’s father might have a few words of his own.

Letterman is a waste of flesh and full of Hot Air! Stop giving him weight on the national stage. I never would have known he said anything for it not being here. The only time I see him is when I’m changing channels which means I see him for all of .2 seconds, at best. Free speech is for everyone, including the lunatic left.

Jaibones on November 16, 2006 at 10:59 PM

Letterman is a seemingly stupid, venal, unattractive man who went Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, which is otherwise the answer to various trivia questions and the punchline to juvenile jokes and bad t-shirts.

While he was making a career out of looking like Alfred E. Newman, teeth and all, Coulter was graduating with honors from Cornell and Michigan Law, where she was editor of the law review, and clerking for a Federal Appeals Court judge.

Now he is hermited inside his multi-million dollar estate, stalked by an ugly, fat, insane woman, and enslaved by a nightly comedy show wherein he angrily tells poop jokes and interviews drunk/slut actresses on publicity tours after their latest rehab, in front of audiences with 8th grade educations.

Coulter strings together NY Times best seller books about politics, public policy and American history, and makes public appearances in a really neat little black dress, while making snarky comments about … nitwits like Letterman.

No wonder he wants her dead. She stole his life…

Gotta love someone who is so utterly disconnected that he comes and posts four comments in November on a link from a June post.

What kind of nitwit does that?!
