Report: Canadian jihadis were planning two attacks (Update: One allegedly wanted to behead Harper) (Update: Planned to storm Parliament, bomb dams and the CBC)
posted at 11:16 am on June 6, 2006 by Allahpundit
One was the truck bomb, the other was an old-fashioned shoot-’em-up. Odd that we haven’t seen more of the latter. Granted, it’s not highlight-reel material the way planes crashing into skyscrapers are, but that hasn’t stopped Iraqi terrorists. And amassing guns and ammo is cheaper and harder to detect than trafficking in explosives.
This at least explains why the Canadians were practicing their marksmanship at that terror camp. NaPo has a scoop about that, too, in fact:
The commandos of Joint Task Force-2 (JTF-2), Canada’s elite special forces unit, were put on standby a short flight away from where suspected terrorists were conducting ”training camps” at an isolated site north of Toronto, sources told the National Post.
A ”troop” of about 25 of the unit’s highly trained assaulters, part of JTF-2′s counter-terrorism unit, were at a nearby military base with their helicopters ready to swoop down should police decide they were needed, said a military source.
The fact that they had special forces standing by months ago to respond to these people means this case is probably a bit more solid than the one in London right now. The suspects are in court today for a bail hearing at which prosecutors will have to outline the facts, so there’ll be plenty of new details in a few hours. In the meantime, Rachel Marsden is having fun mocking Canadian naivete and the boss is scrutinizing the affidavit of an FBI agent that was filed as part of the case against one of the Toronto jihadis’ American acquaintances. According to the affidavit,
Agents found, concealed in the lining of SADEQUEE’s lone suitcase, two CD-ROMs. One CD contained encrypted files that FBI technical experts remain unable to decode. The other CD contained an apparent bootleg copy of a hard-core ############ film.
A twelve-letter adjective between the words “hard-core” and “film.” What could it be?
Meanwhile, in London, the Muslim Council of Britain follows the playbook by responding to the terror raid with an oblique threat of violence.
Update: One of the lawyers for the jihadis criticized Stephen Harper for being “happy” about the arrests … right after admitting that his client is accused of wanting to behead Harper.
He also accused cops of “instilling fear” in the public by arresting suspected terrorists.
Meanwhile, outside the courthouse, the race card is played.
Update: WaPo has details of the charges.

When have they NOT? The poor mis-understood, mis-treated, mis-led bunch of frickin* mis-fits in history of the world.
(large sarcasm intended, except the mis-fit part)
Wake up Canada, Euro-islamofascists, WORLD, they want to kill you….ALL OF YOU. They’re stuck in the year 680 A.D.
Sexual deviants that murder innocent people. That is what they produce yet today. Period.

What need does a jihadi have for porn , when he’s assured of 72 virgins? This is obviously a smear.
On the topic of beheadings oh Glorious moongod, it seems a certian Crimson Jihadi named Beckett should be up for one, oh no wait the Zionist Aggressors already did it for you.

I wonder if these losers could be a ruse. What I mean to say is are these “terrorist” a front or a ploy to give the international authorities “a bone”.
Can these guys be bait to draw in the FEDS so that the serious aged and mature terrorists work unhindered.
It just seems to me that these guys were extremists with no bite or potential to do real damage. I mean after all one of them when to Pakistan to look for a terror camp.
They wanted to disrupted the Global Positioning System. Come on, give me a break…
I mention this because it seems that drug runners from South America might do the same when they “give up” a load or two of cocaine to then get the big mother load into the States. Just a thought.

On another note:
Also, what is interesting about this story is the mention of Bangladesh. Was it ever decided whether or not Al Quaeda established or looked to establish a base there? I recall a mysterious (conspiracy like) story concerning a Ship that may have taken hundreds of Al Quaeda fighters to Bangladesh after 9-11.
If I recall my reading correctly, some had said that Banladesh’s topography isn’t suitable for training camps and an Al Quaeda base…. if 9-11 is possible then I think anything is…
Btw, my co-worker from Nigeria believes that Al Quaeda is establishing some roots in that country – sounds similar to Somalia.

From my early post I reference this Bangladeshi story and the allegation of Al Quaeda arriving by water on a ship.

This can’t be right. The day is not long enough to blow up half of Canada, AND love yourself to “Brokeback Muhajadeen”.

Does anyone know if Canada has a death penalty? (I mean like hanging! You know, something other than just living there forever.) And would this qualify?
Dread Pirate Roberts VI on June 6, 2006 at 3:37 PM
Of COURSE they don’t have a death penalty! Not only that, but they reserve the right to refuse extradition to the U.S. in cases where the prosecution is seeking the death penalty.

Their current PM is more sympathetic to US anti-terrorism efforts I believe…than the last asshat they had in office at least

It seems that now that Canada has a more conservative government, the Mounties and CSIS are really swinging into action.
Could it be that the previous govt was holding them back?
Let’s hope that Ohhhhhhh, Canada!!??! will now become Oh, Canada.
The previous Canadian administration wanted to recognize Islamic Law, as I understand it. Perhaps now, Canadians will wake up and realize that they are not immune despite their “hands off” policies, that following a socialist/liberal all embracing attitude is harmful to their country’s health when dealing with terrorists.

Some really great reporting at the Canada Free Press about the current situation
On what is being taught to young Muslims in the mosques in canada:

On politically correct backtracking in Canada:

this great quoote fprom Klaus:
“Multiculturalism is the philosphy of losers and here’s why: If our culture is morally equivalent to all other cultures, then we really do not have the “moral” authority to condemn acts that our culture finds reprehensible. If our culture is so decadent that we do not find it worth defending, then we can’t go around arresting those accused of attempting to destroy it.”

I hate to say this, but I think they might actually have been able to behead the PM…
After all, these assassins are cunning and diabolical and they were going to “storm the Parliamenta and take hostages”.
The guards could have been taken by surprise ala the airlines on 9/11.
We can’t rule anything out.
No matter what we’ve seen in movies or read, real life evil will come along and outdo anything we ever dreamed of…
