The only time I have seen her get pissed about the hate comments directed towards her was when a bunch of rascist idjits sent her death threats (yes Death threats) to her home and family. Because she DARED to post their press release ona conservative blog. A press release which had their contact information. In actually she allowed them to get their message out to more people. Wow, is this debate still going? True story: I crashed the “Drive Out the Bush Regime” rally last year (photos here) and I saw at least three people at the “information tables” proudly wearing hammer and sicle buttons. So, if that symbol represents the death of millions, they apparently have no problem with that. Same goes for the Che T-shirts.

But you get outraged by people wearing images of Che, while thinking it’s OK to sport a hammer and sickle (”serp i molot”), a symbol of the death of millions. That you don’t even see the hypocrisy speaks volumes.

That you don’t see the difference between the two speaks volumes. Michelle’s T is not pro-Communist, where the vast majority of the Che gear is.

If you’ve got a particular problem with the Hammer and Sickle ethos, you might want to take that up with A.N.S.W.E.R. and their ilk, and not with those who are mocking it.

Vanya, one of the things I notice that is missing in people on your side of the political aisle (isle?) is a sense of proportion. I’ve been a fan of Michelle’s work since 2002; I’ve never noticed her insulting the looks of people she disagreed with, nor have I ever heard or read her to use vile racial insults or stereotypes. Yet, these are exactly the types of things that are hurled at her with great regularity (case in point, the vile comments made by Alex Piranha (whatever his name was) the nancy boy from Wonkette, (oops, now I’m doing it)) So, in your opinion, because Michelle irritates people with her opinions on their policies, it’s perfectly ok for them to call her names to vile to repeat? Her indignation over being referred to in sexist and racist ways makes her a hypocrit. Using that sense of proportion it would be ok, if lets say, I was walking along and you upon taking in my manly profile, decided you didn’t like the cut of my gib; so, you come up to me and say: George Bush is the worst president ever. I smile politely, then kick you in the fork and hit you with my briefcase. Perhaps you should read over on Michelle’s blog, some of the things that have been said about her, then compare that to her comments, and then see if perhaps her indignation might be a bit understandble.
