World turned upside down: European support for Palestinians “crashing”

According to surveys conducted by lefty pollster Stan Greenberg. So dramatic was the shift in opinion from only three years ago that Greenberg redid some of the polls to make sure they were accurate. I wonder what could have happened to make Europeans less sympathetic to the idea of a violent, parasitic Islamist grievance culture waging perpetual war against its liberal western host.

We’re all Jews now:

Three years ago, [Greenberg] said, the conflict was perceived “in a post-colonial framework.”

There was a sense “that Europe could cancel out its own colonial history by taking the ‘right’ side” – the Palestinian side. Yasser Arafat was viewed as “an anti-colonial, liberation leader.” The US was seen as a global imperial power, added Greenberg, and the fact that it was backing Israel only added to the “instinctive” sense of the Palestinians as victims…

Today, by contrast, the Europeans “are focused on fundamentalist Islam and its impact on them,” he said. The Europeans were now asking themselves “who is the moderate in this conflict, and who is the extremist? And suddenly it is the Palestinians who may be the extremists, or who are allied with extremists who threaten Europe’s own society.”

The sharpest turn in opinion was in France. Unsurprisingly.

Interesting article, the shame is that it took riots in France and bombins in London for Europe to start to wake up to the islamic-facism that is growing in their own backyard and where its coming from.

What a SURPRISE!

All of Europe went liberally mad. Until, I guess, the Muslims blew up trains in Spain, subways in England, stabbed innocent people in the streets of Holland, threatened Jihad because someone published cartoons, burned much of France in weeks of rioting, were caught in Germany manufacturing terrorist weapons, and generally made themselves into a public nuisance throughout Europe.

Only THEN did the sanctimonious liberal Europeans begin to realize what these marauding Muslims were truly like.

A “religion of peace?”

Where, exactly in the Muslim world is there peace?

ForYourEdification on June 3, 2006 at 6:59 PM

Dang.

That’s news too good to even hope for.

Here’s to more hoping!

I’ll never forget the footage of Palestinians cheering and women ululating with glee over the carnage of Sept. 2001. Fast forward to Israel giving these people Gaza in hopes for peace, only to have them fire missles at Israel from the border. There is no dealing with them based on their twisted sense of intitlement. Even their Muslim, non Palestinian brothers avoid them except to use them as an example of The West’s hatred of Islam.

Europe was going to show us how wrong we were to support Israel and now they have their Palestinian allies to deal with in their own streets and cafes. Das ist shade.

The “*DUH!*” heard ’round the World.

You don’t have to leave this continent to find Anti-American nuts who love anyone opposing us, and oppose anyone loving us.
I just had a Canadian comment that she is fed up with the “American-Best Country in the world” sentiment. It sounded like a national inferiority complex. Canada is a great country also, and when I suggested that she should appreciate her own country more, she went away.

Islam won’t reform until the world pressures them to do so. Europe waking up to the fact they are in mortal danger is a small first, tentative step in that direction.

gmoonster on June 3, 2006 at 8:01 PM

So, then…on the offensive. The Muslims will shoot back witha another Big Lie.

If US let the Europeans drag us along again we deserve to be wiped OUT!

When will the white in this country terminate their secret love links to the Europeans? When will the whites in this country understand that we have been taken to the laundry by the French in past two world war( and the Vietnam War)?

When will we stop dying for the stupidity of the Europeans?

Forget about Europe. Think Asia and South America. Focus back on our neighbor. There is where our problems are.

India, South east Asia, China, Japn, Australia, New Zealand, Central America, South America, are where our future lies!

Time to cut Nato and move the focus to somewhere else. If Russia want to take over Europe, let them fight. We have the war on terrorism to fight and Europeans have not been helping us ( if not hurting).

Time to drop Europe!!!

I Pray…

Not a single American will die for the European AGAIN!

I pray….

Flip! Flop! Soon the other shoe will drop.

Terrorism? Please tell me it aint so, but if it is I’m sure Bush will get the blame again.

India is our natural new ally. The are large, democratic, de-socializing (to some extent) and growing economically. This is a sterotype, but I have met dozens of Indians, and they tend to be intelligent, well spoken and kind.

Instead of doing all this business with communist China, we should be doing a lot more w/ India.

Are the eurodhimmis finally waking up? After all these years of bashing Israel and paying the jizya tax to their pali-muslim overlords, have they finally decided to open their eyes?

I think many euro-peons WANT to be ruled. It’s been their way for so long that they don’t know any better. Kings and queens, fuedal lords and now socialism.

We in the U.S. are the decendants of those euros who would NOT be ruled by monarchs and dictators. Those who didn’t have the stones to escape the New World were left behind to wallow in their misery and to this day their decendants are STILL jealous of us. They pretent to hate us because it’s the cool thing to do but deep down inside they envy us and wish they could’ve had ancestors with guts enough to have left Europe and it’s tyranny in the past where it belongs.

Tony737 on June 4, 2006 at 7:45 AM

ooops, that should say ‘escape TO the New World’

gmoonster on June 4, 2006 at 2:48 AM”

I think we are doing more in India. The growth in business with India is faster than in China, especially in technology area. Our business with China is predominantly in low tech products including shoes, clothes, toys, bikes, and PC parts. However, India lacks the infrastructures to bring in more business and they are limited because of that reason. They need to invest into themselves first. Japanese/Hong Kong Chinese have done a lot in China since the 80’s. They have implemented ISO systems in many factories and their efforts resulted in substantial elevation of the quality of products manufactured in China. This has yet to happen in India. The Chinese governemnt did a great job of building up their electricity power supply and transportation systems to commensurate the rapid growth rate. This also has yet to happen in India.

Neverthelss, USA needs to defocus in Europe. We should focus in the development of Asia Pacific rim and South and Central America. Our military ties to the European must be severed so we won’t be dragged into their conflicts again.

Many of the old white folks here have tremendous sentimental ties with Europe and these ties are extremely harmful to us.
Europe is a big mess and they have the habit in starting a major war every 50 years!

easy87us on June 4, 2006 at 12:17 PM

Well some people just need to be hit upside the head with a baseball bat before they pay attention to what is going on around them….guess that includes the Europeans.
The real question is are they too late waking up or just in time?

Abigail Adams on June 4, 2006 at 1:10 PM

Well, Sacre-mie-bleu! It’s about time…

RD on June 4, 2006 at 1:31 PM

And it only took a brick to the head…….

Soon a civil war will ensue in Palestine, over the referendum on the existence of Israel as a trigger, but really over the divide between Hammas and Fatah.

Whom will the Europeans support? Whom will the Americans support? Which Middle Eastern countries/governments will support which side?

What will this mean for the region and the world?

Entelechy on June 4, 2006 at 2:24 PM

Guys, don’t be a phony!

Should we care what Europe think?

On one side, you criticize us immigrants ( legal and illegal) for polluting American culture, on the other hand you are thinking like an European ( especially Liberals). Every decision we have to make will have to put Europe in the first position.

Are you an European or are you an American? Make up your mind. Being an American means you have to think like Americans. that means this country first!

Who care what European thinks. If the whole damn Europe slides into the Atlantic I won’t shed a tear!

Not a single American should die for the European, never again!

Is it possible for a Dhimmi continent, or nation, to un-Dhimmi itself?

Bellicose Muse on June 4, 2006 at 8:33 PM

As long as that nation or continent is still in the dar al-harb, yes.

RD on June 4, 2006 at 8:49 PM

I’d like to see whathappens a few tomorrows from now before we proclaim victory

We’re all Jews? Yeah one day alot of people agree with us and the next they want to kill us and blame us for things only God, aliens and Al Gore can do. Sounds about right!
