Iran shocked, shocked, to find itself accused of anti-semitism

The National Post apologized today for the yellow-badges story but the mullahs want a confab with the Canadian ambassador. Their English-language house organ, the Tehran Times, also has an indignant editorial on the subject. Note the bit towards the end about Zahra Kazemi’s death having been “unintentional.” Uh huh.
Here, from the ADL, are some of Ahmadinejad’s greatest anti-semitic hits, and here’s a brief account of Jewish blood libels being broadcast on Iranian TV. And speaking of Iranian TV, the following video aired on Jaam-e Jam 3 TV last Monday; click the image to watch. What’s the difference between this and a Yearly Kos promo? Answer: this is a lot less violent.

Bet you that one of the arguments made by the Iranians is that they’re also semetic people so they can’t be anti-semetic
same damn arguments the muslim student unions used on dozens of college campuses

It’s time the eagle dumped all over that part of the world.
Tell them to bring a camera to document the occasion.

Sometimes it’s so darned hard to tell the difference between Islamic terrorist propaganda and Leftist propaganda.

I like Bonanza. I don’t see anything offensive about Bush playing Little Joe Cartwright.

Hello Defector01,
I’m not a Middle East expert, but I don’t think Iranians are Semitic people. I think they are Persian. I think it is usually the Palestinians and Arabs who use the “Semitic” card.
Here are a couple of Wikipedia links for what ever it is worth.
Very respectfully,

Iran is pathetic. They are hollow in mind.
It does baffle an intelligent mind that any one person could be so obtuse as pres I’madingabat appears to be, but an entire nation follows said void-head to their graves, is beyond words. I am truly appalled.
But of course the suggestion of making one wear clothing designed to de-humanize is sooo much worse than just wiping the entire Jewish Nation off the planet.
Who appologizes?

Your right, that was a real dumb post on my part
I did something incredibly stupid and just lumped arabs and persians (a major sin) together.
Thanks for correcting me

Ya’ know, after watching this ridiculous thing I am absolutley convinced that these ‘people’ are insane. My dear departed dad had it exactly right…they are so inter-bred that they cannot/willnot see the beauty that we, in the west, hold dear. Our freedoms are totaly a mystery to them and they, for sure, cannot grasp the vastness of this country. They get lucky, occasionally, with their bombs and threats. The World Trade Center was a huge success for them…someone said that even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. We will be the winners, here…but it will take time and the lives of our preciouse young men and women. History will bear this our…and history is on our side.

The iranian mullahs are not anti-semetic, they’re just anti-Israel’s-very-existance. They’re anti-Jewish-people-breathing. What’s so anti-semetic about that?

Hey Defector01, don’t sweat it.
I’ve made mistakes in the past too. And I’ve got a sneakin’ suspicion I’ll make more than a few in the future.
For what it’s worth, in my opinion, if someone make a mistake and someone corrects them on it, they usually aren’t attacking the person, they are just correcting the mistake. It ain’t personal.
Anyway, you did bring up a good point. Time after time, I have heard Palestinians or Pro-Palestinians use that same tired defense when you they are called on their anti-Semitic behavior or words.
Keffiya wearing Intifada type: “How can I be anti-Semitic? I’m a Semite myself!”
Please. Noam Chomsky might buy that sort of linguistic dissemination, but yer just being dishonest when you use that argument. Anti-Semitic means “Jew hater.” And you sir, are a Jew hater.

“Time after time, I have heard Palestinians or Pro-Palestinians use that same tired defense when you they are called on their anti-Semitic behavior or words.”
Oops. I have an extra “you” in the above sentence. It should read:
“Time after time, I have heard Palestinians or Pro-Palestinians use that same tired defense when THEY are called on their anti-Semitic behavior or words.”

I for one have always liked cowboys. World domination, I am for, the only super power in the World, I am all for, everyone else looking to us for leadership, I am all for. John Wayne leading the calvery, I am all for.

Whenever you go anywhere in the world, you see things created in the USA. Electricity, airplanes, telephones, home computers, ETC. The only recent things coming out of the Middle East that changes lives is terrorism and oil.
Some cultures make things happen and get things done, others don’t. I like ours better.
Shmo on May 25, 2006 at 10:02 AM
Halley, is there a difference?
Shmo, the middle-east hasn’t produced anything since the number 1! It a repressive society governed by an evern more repressive religion stuck in the 11th century!
But then again what can you expect from a society with rules regarding which hand you can use to wipe your butt which, by the way, often does not contain paper! Don’t believe me? Ask a Vet!

And by the way, if someone from Hot Air’s reading this, please don’t put up sites which link to the middle-east without a warning! Call me paranoid, but I don’t want those sand-sucking ….. capturing my URL!

I’m no scholar, but the semite/antisemite stuff is mentioned a lot, and is unclear.
I don’t know if this helps, but:
Abram (Later Abraham)was a Semite, in that he came from Ur, populated by Semitic tribes, desert people.
Most of the troubles between Jews and Arabs (Not Muslims) is because they have the same Father, Abram/Abraham. So Jews and Arabs are both semitic peoples. Iran, the Persians,Iraq, et al. are the descendants of the same semitic tribes that Abram came out of-and are more closely aligned with Ishmael-Abraham’s other son-rather than Isaac. A lot of the peoples displaced 500 or so years after Abraham, when the Children of Israel were led into the Promised Land-were children of Ishmael and other semitic tribes. That is the conflict we are seeing today in Israel.
Islam is later distillation/incarnation of the Semetic idol-worshipping false religions. Though Semetic in origin, most of today’s Muslims are not Semitic.
But they sure join in with the children of Ishmael in hating the children of Isaac.
