I’m interested to hear what people who have supported the NSA’s actions regarding wiretaps and phone logs have to say about this. She’s saying what I’ve been saying… that freedom is worth the price you pay in increased vulnerability to things like terrorism. I don’t want terrorism to be impossible… I’d rather be free. Many Conservatives seem to be of the school of thought that increased safety against terrorist attack is worth these reductions in freedom. What say you, readers? Freedom or safety, which is the better goal?

Seems to me the common thread to all this is that some person(s) gets upset. Then, rather than use their speech, they pull the good old 3rd grade trick, “I’m going to tell!” So Google responds to those complaints because………

I know her full name is Ayaan Hirsi Ali. But writting that down all the time gets old. I mean, we say “President George W. Bush” the first time we introduce him in an article. But from then on, you refer to him as President Bush, or Mr. Bush, or just Bush. You don’t just keep using the long title.

So I guess my question is this: How do you contract her name? After you introduce her as Ayaan Hirsi Ali, do you then contract it to Ayaan? Or Hirsi? Or Ali? Or Ayaan Ali? Or Ayaan Ali? Or Hirsi Ali? …..

In the United States, we understand that the first name is OUR personal name, and the last is our more formal, family name. But I know that other cultures have different naming conventions.

Anyway, if anyone has any education in this area they would like to share, I would be glad to hear it.

This is not a core liberal value. At least not in their regard for American people. They don’t value the worth and sanctity of the individual – the only thing they give a damn about is the collective.

Which is why they hate America so much. They don’t believe in nationalism. In their minds we’re all one big global country whether anyone (but themselves) acknowledges that or not. If any one country is more successful than another then it, by their own definition, is hurting the collective as a whole.

Liberals actively wish to institute policies which will deliberately weaken this country in order to achieve a global “Balance”. In their minds the fact that we are so well off in this country makes us just as bad as men like Bin Laden and Zarqawi – which is why they do nothing to stand up to Islamic Fascits, and in some cases even help them to achieve their ends.

How or why these people come to these conclusions is beyond me – but out of a sense of self preservation there won’t be day that goes by in my life in which I’ll let them go by unchallenged.
