Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s Dutch citizenship rescinded

She was going to resign from parliament in September, then move to the U.S. Change of plans: she’s resigning effective immediately, thanks to Immigration Minister Rita Verdonk’s ruling that Hirsi Ali was never a legal citizen of the Netherlands in the first place.
Robert Spencer is mortified and quotes a reader who says this could have serious complications for her U.S. visa. I tend to doubt that, if only because the outcry from American conservatives will be fierce if Condoleezza Rice doesn’t make it happen.
The good news? Verdonk might have bitten off more than she can chew. Spencer also notes a report that Verdonk is facing a monster backlash from Hirsi Ali’s party — and that the government could fall over it.
Here’s an excerpt from the statement she issued today after resigning from parliament:
I am completely certain that I have, in my own way, succeeded in contributing to the debate. Issues related to Islam – such as impediments to free speech; refusal of the separation of Church and State; widespread domestic violence; honor killings; the repudiation of wives; and Islam’s failure to condemn genital mutilation — these subjects can no longer be swept under the carpet in our country’s capital. Some of the measures that this government has begun taking give me satisfaction. Many illusions of how easy it will be to establish a multicultural society have disappeared forever. We are now more realistic and more open in this debate, and I am proud to have contributed to that process…
[M]ay I say that it is difficult to live with so many threats on your life and such a level of police protection. It is difficult to work as a parliamentarian if you have nowhere to live. All that is difficult, but not impossible. It has become impossible since last night, when Minister Verdonk informed me that she would strip me of my Dutch citizenship.
I am therefore preparing to leave Holland. But the questions for our society remain. The future of Islam in our country; the subjugation of women in Islamic culture; the integration of the many Muslims in the West: it is self-deceit to imagine that these issues will disappear.

Fools.
This does not bode well for Eurabia. OTOH, as an American all I can say is Woo Hoo! Welcome aboard, Ayaan.

They don’t deserve to have Ms. Ali as a citizen; she apparently has more backbone and guts than all the useless EU bureaucrats put together.
Have an Evil day.

How embarrassing for the native country. When there is finally someone willing to speak up about the dangers we actually manage to oust them. With the current low birth rate among native Dutch people and the high birth rate among immigrants it might only take a few more generations before it is all over unless we deal with it now head on.
I’m glad AHA will find refuge in the USA after all their national anthem ends with “… and the home of the brave”.

I would say “unbeliveable” but after 9/11 nothing is that to me anymore. It defies logic that she could go into great detail about this to her political party, be upfront to the citizens who then elected her, serve in the Government and THEN have this happen..what Verdonk thinking? She SHOULD be outraged about the threat to every Dutch citizen if AHA is run out of the country. That is what is happening:one brave voice (Theo Van Gogh) BRUTALLY murdered in broad daylight in the middle of the street..the other brave voice being hounded and chased away. GET A BACKBONE NETHERLANDS! Who is left? The submissives and the extremists..God help them.

Bah! They rolled over for the Nazis 60 years ago, they’re rolling over for the Muslims now.
Nothing new. Cowards. The lot of them.

Yeah, not a spine on the continent.
Say Congress has the power to grant her citizenship. Anyone know any Congresscritter who’d be sympathetic to bringing a motion?
Iblis on May 16, 2006 at 2:53 PM
It would be great for her to be an American, but there’s too many illegals who have precedence. She’ll just have to go to the back of the line. Maybe in twenty, thirty years she can come in…if she’s not killed first.

Please President Bush, grant her immediate amnesty and access to this country and put her on the fast track towards citizenship of our great country. Perhaps her presence will help us maintain our country and help in keeping it great!
This would be a great moment for so-called bi-partisanship behavior; Senators Dayton and Coleman could jointly sponsor her entry and movement towards citizenship too.

Look for CAIR to object to AHA’s arrival on American soil. And any Democrats who also object will only be signalling their residence in CAIR’s back pocket…

One of the best gigs in the world, getting paid to be brilliant. She’ll probably be getting a raise, too. Making lemonade out of lemons?

Does this come under the heading of “enforcing immigration laws” or simply abject stupidity?
I thought they were smarter than this….

We will be better off for having her here.

The Dutch political parties are taking an inredible beating even from some MSM sources; not to mention all the non dhimmi media sources in Europe

AHA wrote a book in Europe “I accuse. Pleading for the freeing of the Muslim women”. There are many books, on the same subject, released in Europe.
One in particular “The foreign bride”, written by a Turkish liberal woman, living and working unveiled in Europe, Necla Kelek, has confronted the European multiculturalism, called ‘multi-culti’ over there. PC is much more dominant there than here. The book has caused quite a debate on many prominent stations there, even on the BBC.
It documents current day slavery, in the multi-thousands of women, brought into Europe from Turkey and other Middle-Eastern countries, in some cases as 12-13 year olds, married to strange Muslim men, kept in the European homes, not allowed to drive, granted to go outside of the home only for prayer sessions. These women produce numerous children whom they are expected to indoctrinate for the ‘cause’. Necla Kelek infiltrated the prayer sessions and documented what these women go through. In the name of hyper-PC the European liberals and their governments have not denounced but have encouraged this to happen over the years, by their silence and non-intervention. “We can’t get involved in other customs – we have to respect other cultures” was the mantra. Now they have egg on their faces and don’t know how to proceed. This is the real demagoguery and dychotomy of the left – being for freedom and equality and then not defending it for so many.

Good, we’re happy to have Ayaan here in the Free World. She has escaped Eurabia before the islamofascists were able to take over and build death camps for infidels and apostates. Count her as one life saved!
In our lifetimes we’ll see reeducation camps, indoctrination centers and mass murder facilites all over Europe (again). The Dhimmis think it’ll never happen. Their future masters are counting down the days. Remember their signs at the cartoon rally?: “Europe is a cancer, islam is the answer”.
Wake up Euro-Dhimmis! (Dhummies) Your freedom will end soon. Then who ya gonna call? Don’t call us, we’ll be busy closing off our southern border.
Condi for President!
Ayann for Florida Govenor!

I just hope for you guys that Hirsi-Ali will not be pushing for Christian groups and conservative political parties to be banned, as she has attempted in Netherlands. For those who don’t know, Hirsi-Ali wanted the Vlaams Belang banned in Belgium (Brussels Journal’s Paul Belien’s party), because they were apparently “racist”. I like Hirsi-Ali’s anti-dhimmitude, but she is also no democratic angel.

While tragic, there is nothing surprising in this. America has long been the lucky recipient of the old world’s finest minds as they flee a tired and corrupt Europe.

Finally, a worthy candidate for Guest Worker status.

She’ll make a valuable addition to Condi’s Cabinet
Frank_D on May 17, 2006 at 9:45 AM
I like the way ya think there Frank! Ayaan would make a good Sec. of State. Imagine the look on Osammy bin-hiden’s face! He already knows he’s losing, but this would be the final nail in his coffin.
Yes, it’s true that she has qeustionable views, but no two people agree on everything. I even have a few issues with Condi, but I still say…
Condi ‘08!
