Michelle wrote about it hours ago so you’ve probably heard. The executive summary is here. Nutshell: all five committee members thought Dances With Moonbats needs a little unpaid vacation, and one of them thought it should be permanent.
Here’s a very brief digest of the press conference. The photoshop illustration is old, but I got caught flat-footed today by the 9/11 video and didn’t have time to make something new. Anyway, it seemed appropriate for the occasion.

What took CU so long? They spent 15 months figuring out what bloggers had surmised in days…that Ward Churchill was a fraud, a subversive and an idiot. People like Churchill are nothing more than Big Eichmanns. If CU does fire him I’m sure there is a position chairing the revisionist history department awaiting him somewhere at a Cuban university.

I agree, there are enough moonbatts in Boulder as it is. Out of Boulder,a nd Out of Colorado. UC Santa Cruz would be a fitting place for him.

It pains me to see this happen in the context of my alma mater – an otherwise excellent institution, or was when I was there 25 years ago. What I blogged over a year ago, after reading his controversial essay, still stands. And in the spirit of the topic, allow me to plagiarize myself:
“One wonders if the fraction [of Churchill's Native American ancestry] is so small that if Churchill were to wear his Native American-ness to the official ethnic black tie affair, he’d be the guy dressed in the Speedo. It’s likely Churchill is no more a Native American than a teacup terrier is a wolf. Whatever. Flip the fractions and you have someone who is 7/8ths white. Or is it 31/32nds? or 63/64ths? Ward Churchill must loose sleep over this ratio.”
and
“I find Ward Churchill’s ideas lack originality, depth and persuasive presentation. As evidence mounts casting serious shadows of doubt on his scholarly competence, I’d be reluctant to cite his work for anything other than noise pollution.”

I can’t compete with the wit, so settle for the sentiment. Ward Churchill is an embarrassment of acadamia. And humanity.
And will probably go through the rest of his life convinced that he is a martyr. If he wants to be an activist for Native Americans, I suggest he live on a Reservation and teach the kids there. But what tribe would want him?

If you think Churchill is nuts, wait until he ends up at Georgia State University with his “ethnic studies” wife.
You want an idea of how THAT university is run, check out the faculty research “interests” in the school of Women’s Studies. One teacher is interested in the occult, another’s favorite “research” involves bondage, discipline, sado-masochism, “swinging” and fetishes, but the best of all is lecturer Mindy Stombler, who teaches something called “sexuality in society”, and ACTUALLY LISTS her “research interest” as THE SOCIAL MEANING OF CUNNILINGUS.” No kidding. See for yourself. Churchill will fit in fine. Probably get a raise too.

You have to realize, it’s hard for these schools to fire incompetents since so many are guilty of the same offense. That’s why the concept of “tenure” exists, guaranteeing job protection over competence. It’s like the medical profession refusing to testify against their own in malpractice lawsuits. They don’t want to let the cat out of the bag that the low man on the totem pole at medical school is still referred to as “doctor”.

In the real world, where people use real money, FREAKS like Churchill would be fired in a matter of hours. “You say your an American Indian and you want to head our Native American Studies Dept.?” Why not?
But wait. Then we find out he’s no more American Indian than George Clooney! He’d be fired for lying. End of story!
But in the topsy-turvy world of academia, where NO ONE uses real money, points like this are to be “examined”. Time must be spent to consider all the ramifications. His lying might well be a symptom of some childhood trauma-no doubt caused by white racists- and not necessarily be the result of “bad character”. It’s better to continue to pay this CREEP 90K/ year for his part-time job hating Americans, that to jump the gun and take the chance of hurting his feelings! After all, the feelings of a white man posing as a non-white for financial gain are much more important than the feelings of ordinary taxpayers-80% of which are white!
Just for laughs I’d like to see one politician submit a billl that would make ALL federal and state funding for colleges and universities 100% transparent! Let’s see how many hundreds of millions are spent each year, and WHO GETS IT! Let’s see if the taxpayers want to continue to support this BIG SCAM!

To some degree, there are Ward Churchills in all of our public schools. Unstable politcal hacks, that pepper the lessons with left wing insanity and spend more time with your kids than you do.
My son gets bonus point questions on his English tests that all have to do with how poorly Republicans are leading this country. Nothing to do with the class, but plenty to do with his nutty teacher and her Lefty leanings.

It’s not just major universities. Graham Hospital School of Nursing in Canton Il is a complete nightmare. I would conservately estimate that 75% of the instruction consists of healing touch, pacific institute, strengthening your positive energy, opening your “third eye”, broadening your social awareness, communicating with your inner self, realizing you are your own god, techniques of positive reinforcement,… ad nauseum. It was positively maddening. All of this enlightenment for the meager cost of 30 K.
No practical instruction, well, very very little. Plenty of politics though. Did you know that Reagan forced seniors to eat dog food so he could line his pockets with cash stolen from their SS benefits? Did you know that Bush blew up the levees in NO and staged 911? I still haven’t figured out how any of this helps make better nurses. I had to transfer to a more sane nursing school after 2 years of this claptrap.
God help you if you voice dissent or complain. Since negative anything does not exist, you literally are forbidden to question the instructors or disagree…EVER. I lasted 2 years before I was squeezed out by a smiling director who advised me to get a CDL, because I “don’t belong here, or anywhere in the nursing field, and could make good money as a truck driver.” Positive reinforcement at its finest.

Yeah. Since Graham is a state funded school I had to complain to the IBHE. I told them my name, the name of the institution, and my phone number. That was all. They weren’t interested in my complaint, they said they would be in touch. Four days later I received a letter from the state informing me that they had found no evidence of wrongdoing whatsoever, Case closed. They never asked for my side of the story or even what my complaint was. They have declined to respond to any of my phone calls or written requests for an explanation. It’s a travesty.

Charm is universal. One of my co-workers-who is a retired teacher-heard me talking with a friend about the President’s Immigration sheech and had to break in and tell us that President Bush is an ‘evil,evil man’. I didn’t know that!
Even if it causes my co-worker to succumb to BDS, I think I would vote for Jeb Bush just to see the Ward Churchills and Cindy Sheehans of the world implode into little liberal puddles of goo.

Ward Churchill is only the tip of the iceburg. Political correctness is embedded in our public schools. I understand that in the history books in todays public schools there is only maybe A paragraph or two on one of are greatest Presidents Abe Lincolin.

I’ve said it elsewhere, multiple times: As long as Ward Churchill is still employed by CU, I will vote against any measure on any ballot that gives more money to CU, and I will encourage everyone I know to do likewise. If they’re going to urinate away my tax dollars by giving them to that freakasaurus, they don’t deserve any more.
Needs a catchy slogan, though…how about “No More Dough ‘Till Churchill Goes”?
