Good point, Kramer. It should read: "Give us your diseased, your poor, your huddled masses seeking Hillarycare for free."

There. Doesn't that sum up Jorge's position on illegal immigration?

Thanks Michelle,
You've got him good (Pinhead Kool aide Drinking a-- kisser O'Reilly)..
Please mention that if you harbor Illegal aliens then you have committed a crime..As for the people that want the illegals here must have them in their houses and has them working for them... Now repeating that it's a crime in our laws should get some ones attention..
Which They (illegals and their employers )Are to be fined and put in prison for ten years..Congress and senators and Presidents are actually committing a crime by our Laws...
I would preferred the illegals go back home and not in our prisons..We the taxes payers have to feed and clothes them is enough !! !

The rudeness I refer to is missing from this tape, but was during the complete interview as seen on Fox after the speech. Commenter William Teach above seemed to have seen it as well.

Michelle made the only significant point (right over O'Reilly's head) that adding new programs, policies, procedures, whatever makes little sense if you're not going to enforce any of them anyway.

I don't know about Kirstens rudeness.
I watched it twice and I saw Bill talking to Michelle as an equal. patiently trying to see her point while at the same time trying to make some of his own.

More than 2/3 of this particular video was spent between them and they were giving each other a chance to speak, which might be normal for Michelle but is totally ABnormal for O'Reiley.

When Powers came on he slipped back into his default mode and started wittily interupting her and making counterpoints in the middle of every point she tried to make.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a hardcore conservative (I don't like saying 'Republican" anymore because the party seems to have been watered down) of the Reagan kind.

I'm also not stupid, and to blow someone off without even letting them make their case is foolish.
It means nothing less than you have already underestimated them, and THAT is the most foolish thing one can do to an opponent.

Listen to them, no matter how stupid their ideas might be, but at least hear them.
That way you know what to research, what to look for, and how to effectively attack their position.

Politics is war and Rule # 2 of war is, "Never underestimate your enemy".

Rule # 1 is, "Always have a plan B"

One of the main problems with the Republican party that I've noticed since Bush 1 is that they have constantly underestimated the left, or even worse, considered the lefts position as a non-issue.
So they ignore it (whatever the cause may be) and put it off, until all at once it's a front burner item that has to be dealt with RIGHT NOW.
But since they've ignored it, they have no ammunition to attack it effectively.

So what happens?
They comprimise. They allow just a little bit more of the Fundamental ideology of Conservatism to be chipped away.

First and foremost, There Is No Such Thing As A MODERATE Conservative.
Period.

The Republican party has been wooing Moderate Democrats with the results that they also bring along some Liberal ideas.
That causes divisiveness and a house devided against itself cannot stand. Neither can a political party.

They should instead go back to their roots. Try to woo back the conservatives who left due to dis-agreements with the direction of the party, not change with the polls.
Polls are meaningless anyway so why would anyone rely on them?

As to my previous post.
Did anyone read the ticker at the bottom of this clip?
I always do when I watch the news.
Anyway, did you happen to notice the one where the ACLU is already complaining about the ID cards?

There WILL be lawsuits and I'm afraid Bush WON'T even get what little he asked for.
Never EVER underestimate your enemy, and the left IS the enemy.

Immigration was a good thing, when it was supervised by the grownups. But now most of our leaders are really just politicians, and they seem unable to foresee consequences, or even to distinguish between immigrants and illegal aliens. Close the border, give the employers of illegals a 3 month amnesty period to change over to legals, and then focus on letting in the relatives of legal immigrants of every nationality first. Lots of proven-to-be honest, hardworking people are here, trying sometimes for years to bring their families back together, and now they are looking at the prospect of waiting for us to absorb 20 million illegals first, give or take a few million. That's not right. Why should we even talk about legalizing those who jumped the turnstile before those who have been in line for years?

It's time to get at least somewhat selective, and give priority not based on whether you're already here, but on education level, ability/willingness to work, having a stable sponsor, and other common-sense criteria. Kind of like you thought we did, before you knew better.

[...] Malkin on fox news last night was a prime example, I’m crazy about her and I can’t say I supported her position last night one bit. Bush has literally turned the economy around, engaged not one but two hostile regimes in offensive wars, changed American foreign policy for the better to protect America, challenged the UN, I could go on and on.. What do you want from this man? He leads the whole country not just a 20% sliver of it. [...]

Revolution is a little extreme.
If every concerned American Citizen would let those that are here illegally know that they are not welcome, then they would leave.
Of course it may be necessary for a little aggession.
Our numbers are far greater than theirs. (For the time being at least)
Americans need to stand united.

The border with Mexico needs to be locked down.
However, taking all things into consideration, that's not going to happen overnight.
It's a reality of American politics.

I felt the President didn't offer to do enough to secure our borders, but I also feel that he is not even going to get what little he asked for.

Bill O'Reilly used to be against the Amnesty proposals but then he flipped and has become an advocate of giving the Illegals a free pass.

He has fallen for the Politically Correct sympathy for Illegals that "just want to feed their children"

He is a hypocrite. On one hand he says he is looking out for the folks then on the other hand is for Amnesty for Criminals.

Jeff Sessions just came out with a report that if the current bill in the senate is passed it will result in 100-200 million Legalized Illegals.

That is 25% if the current population of the United States of America which will result in the destruction of our Country as we know it. In addition, the financial costs will cost upwards of 50 Billion a year.

Bill O’Reilly used to be against the Amnesty proposals but then he flipped and has become an advocate of giving the Illegals a free pass.

He has fallen for the Politically Correct sympathy for Illegals that “just want to feed their children”

He is a hypocrite. On one hand he says he is looking out for the folks then on the other hand is for Amnesty for Criminals.

Jeff Sessions just came out with a report that if the current bill in the senate is passed it will result in 100-200 million Legalized Illegals.

Labarigo: My next door neighbor lays paving stones for A living his boss employs twelve illegals they all have fake social security numbers and pay taxes. This should be stopped. I say stiff fines to employers who hire illegals, if they can't find A job then will go home.

Who cares? It's drop in the bucket compared to the many billions more paid out for health care, welfare, food stamps, and not to mention schools. Our highways would be less congested, hospitals less crowded, insurance cheaper. I don't mind paying more for foodstuffs and some services. Hell, jack up the price on everything. It's well worth it to repel an invader that will eventually rob us of everything, including our language.

Not all illegals are paid in cash. Illegals pay billions into social security by way of payroll deductions . . . they use false SSNs so no one really gets the credit, but the government keeps the money.

Wait until some enterprising plaintiff's attorney gets hold of THAT lawsuit.

In the world of reporting on the immigration situation you heard basically two terms:
(1) undocumented alien
(2) illegal immegrant
I would offer a third (3) undocumented illegal immigrant.
The most significant items in last night's speach IMHO is the digital ID card & enforcement of illegal employment. This now sets the stage for any and all inforcement of whatever plans are established from the congress.
Whithout an ID card there would not be any company employment (the supposed reason for the flight North).
Logical approach:
1-issue the card to all who are here or coming
2-prosecute company executives that allow anyone without a valid card to work.
Therefore, the flow should slow to a trickle. (domestic help only)

Bill has already proven time and time again that he doesn't "get" Christianity and he doesn't "get" real conservatism. For the most part, he seems to be "feelings" based, just like most liberal minds are(of course, their reasoning ability is flawed so their feelings are often backwards), and is willing to look the other way in the interest of compromise on many issues.

His ratings seem high though, so he must ring the bell for a lot of people.

I am surprised that almost all of the posts omit any mention that Kristin Powers was also present to contribute the commentary appropriate for the Democratic operative that she is. After Bill weakly tried to defend El Presidente Jorge's amnesty proposal, he asked Kristin for her opinion. Much to Bill's surprise, she stated she was in sympathy with Michele's anger because nothing Arbusto proposed was any different than the travesty of the Senate bill up for consideration. She further stated that had she been Bush, she would have given a speech focusing much more on border security because that was the main concern of those worried about illegal immigration. She then basically said, "What has Bush done to secure the border in his first 5 1/2 years? Zip."

Of course, a Dem in power would probably have been even worse (assuming that is possible) on securing the southern border, but Kristen was absolutely right. Jorge Arbusto was in charge and he failed us; we can't blame the Dems for the border fiasco during the time the two el presidentes north and south of the border (?) have conspired to maximize the illegal flow. O'Reilly weakly responded that Bush is trying to secure the border now and we should be grateful for that and that we have to be compassionte to the poor lawbreakers sucking off the American teat. (No, he didn't quite put the last statement that way!).

I never thought a hack Democratic operative would make more sense on immmigration than O'Reilly. Michelle stood tall as did Tancredo, who was very temperate considering the bilge he had to listen to from El Presidente.
