Definitely funnier than Colbert, but still only “heh”-worthy for me. The problem Gore has is that he’s not funny enough to do material that isn’t self-deprecating… so he’s forever stuck on global warming and “invention” jokes. He’s never going to take any serious cracks at global warming, because it’s his personal pet project, and seeing as how he never claimed to have invented the Internet, validating that tall tale with a joke makes him seem weak in that if a lie is repeated often enough, he’ll cave and go along with the flow. So that one is more pathetic than funny.

I almost feel sorry for him… but for 300 people, he’d likely be sitting in the Oval Office right now, and he’s been reduced to making fun of himself on a show that hasn’t been funny for 10 years. Maybe he should give that whole alpha male thing a shot again… at least go down with dignity.

This guy is such a tool. You know, I was watching the History channel with my dad the other night (a legal immigrant; he grew up in Germany during WWII) and they were showing a special about Hitler’s doctor. Supposedly, he was dosing Hitler with narcotics in his vitamin injections. Their theory is some of his more stubborn and strategically disastrous decisions came from his dependence. After seeing that, and then thinking about all the jowl shaking, spittle spraying speeches Algore has given, I have to ask: what’s his excuse? what is he on? The fact that he might not be on anything is even more disturbing to me than finding out he’s a doper.

There were some mild smirk moments in this one. He was funnier than Colbert. And Colbert wasn’t entirely un-funny, but I thought it was funnier to watch the President attempt to politely clap after Colbert’s absolutely horrible and extremely rude “audition clip”. It was funnier to watch the President’s face as he tried to not let Colbert’s idiocy get to him than to watch the original audition.

Odd; Some of you ‘guys’ apparently saw something different than I did.

Took me a moment at the start of the skit to figure out if that was the real gore or the SNL cast member that normally plays him. When I saw how lame the person was, I knew it was the real gore.

I did like how Amy Pohler (or however you spell it) played off the wooden mr. gore. Her intentional absurdities made gore appear both more lame AND more absurd at the same time.
