ElBaradei echoes Chomsky: Islamist nuts need weapons for deterrence

Mind you, this is the guy the world depends on to prevent psychotics from getting nuclear weapons:

“Iran is surrounded by countries that have nuclear weapons, Russia has nuclear weapons, Pakistan has nuclear weapons, Israel has nuclear weapons, Iraq has used chemical weapons against them. There is a sense of insecurity,” he said.

I like that he threw Pakistan in there, using the fact that one jihadist state has the bomb to justify all of them having it. Saudi Arabia, for one, couldn’t agree more. Nor could Chomsky, who said this yesterday during his meeting with Nasrallah:

“The regional superpower Israel is threatening to attack it [Iran], the U.S. is threatening to attack it. These threats alone are outright violations international law and of the U.N. charter. Iran is in difficulty. Iran has been trying for some years to negotiate settlement but the U.S. just refuses.”

Remember — officially, Iran is pursuing a nuclear energy program. ElBaradei is making no bones here about the fact that it’s actually a weapons program. Bear it in mind as the brinksmanship escalates, because our pals on the left — and perhaps ElBaradei himself — will quickly return to the it’s-only-energy argument once things really get tense.

And by the way, he’s ecstatic about there being another delay at the UN.

The left loves tossing conspiracy theories around about Bush and Rove, so let me toss one out there myself: is ElBaradei secretly working on behalf of Iran? To put it another way, if he isn’t working for Iran, what would he be doing or saying differently if he was working for them?

But let’s not panic, especially about that highly enriched uranium they’ve found. The fact is, Iran is five or maybe ten years away from the bomb. Would Seymour Hersh lie?

Update: And by the way, there’s nothing on the news wires about Chomsky’s tete-a-tete with Hezbollah since Drudge reported it yesterday. Nothing. Not a photo, not video, zip. A media blackout of, dare I say it, almost Colbertian proportions.

Why can’t we just send all these clowns to meet Allah?

That wouldn’t be fair. We are stronger than they are. When we fight, we need to lose a lot of our men too. “Kill nice, you two!” It’s insane.

How can this poor man’s Hans Blix say “Israel has nuclear weapons”? Does he have proof of this? Isn’t he the same guy that equivocated on Iraq’s WMD before the war because he didn’t have absolute proof that they were there? When it comes to Israel, the threshold is something much lower. Typical of the United Nations. It kills me that so much of our tax dollars goes to these at the UN.

Isnt Mohamed ElBaradei married to an Iranian,Aida Elkachef?
Aida Elkachef was thought to be Iranian and influenced her husbands decisions. An IAEA spokesman would not elaborate on her nationality when confronted.
Anyone know about this, or her?
Googled her name, it brings up questions about her nationality mostly from ‘05 blogs , but no proof I can find that she is not Iranian.

Yeah, but it’s ok for iran to threaten Israel? Thank you for showing us how irrelevent you are.

Lefties and islamofascists workin’ together. How ironic.
