Great Vent, Michelle! As always, you are great to listen to and great to look at!

Concerning the UNecessary…STOP FINANCING THEM!

Also, I am going to write “UN” on a roll of toilet paper and use accordingly.

Sex for food, sex slaves, taking advantage of refugees…and Kofi complaigns about the criticism being launched against the UN!!???!! ABSOLUTELY FLAMING DISGRACEFUL!!!!

The False Dervish on May 11, 2006 at 10:41 AM

BTW-you guys notice how somewhat fierce Michelle looked when she ended her vent by holding the broom and told the UN to clean their house first?

That is what I mean when I say that I would rather face the wrath of God than the wrath of Michelle.

The False Dervish on May 11, 2006 at 10:47 AM

Awesome Vent! I heard Hot Air and Michelle mentioned again last night on FOX news.. Keep up the good work. This is another issue that you can explain to the average man on the street and once given the facts, there’s no arguing that the UN is a waste of taxpayer money and a disgrace to mankind. Good job getting the word out in a great format.

RobertCSampson on May 11, 2006 at 10:51 AM

Hey, it’s only Taxpayer’s money! I mean it’s not like the money belongs to people that are important! Sure we waste two billion a year on foreign aid to Egypt. But to even it out we waste another three billion on foreign aid to Israel. And another few billion on foreign aid to India and all the “Stans”.
So what! Americans are RICH! Just ask any foreigner or “Diplomat”. We actually have too much money!
OK, sarcasm is off now. What else can a taxpayer conclude but that we are the biggest bunch of chumps in the universe! Our “Leaders” have sold us out decades ago! Any truly responsible American Leader would not simply quit the UN but in fact SUE THEM for PAST DUES!
ALL POLITICIANS who continue to support our membership in this corrupt body are the enemies of all Taxpayers and should be labeled as such.

Gault on May 11, 2006 at 10:59 AM

“…and Kofi complaigns.”

Whoops! Sorry…I meant complains (no “g”).

That is what I get for using a POLITICALLY CORRECT dictionary.

Sorry about that, Michelle!

The False Dervish on May 11, 2006 at 11:02 AM

The United Nations is a criminal enterprise financed with out tax money. In addition, it is an Unconstitutional organization that our own leaders continue to support.

Read the Constitution and tell me where it says that a bunch of over paid, unelected snobs are allowed to intefere with our country.
It is far past time that the UN be thrown out this country.

ScottyDog on May 11, 2006 at 11:23 AM

That was great!

Now I don’t know whats worse- the fact that we fund that corrupt cesspool- or that corrupt cesspool that we fund wants to destroy US soverignty with its attempt to ban guns, and the ICC (which is a farce).

Solid_Snake on May 11, 2006 at 11:32 AM

On top of the billions we give to the UN each year, can anyone confirm if this is truly what we get in return:

The following are suppose to be the percentage of times these countries vote against the US:

Kuwait votes against the United States 67% of the time, Qatar 67%, Morocco 70%, UAE 70%. Jordan 71%, Tunisia 71%, Saudi Arabia 73%, Yemen 74%, Algeria 74%, Oman 74%, Sudan 75%, Pakistan 75%, Libya 76%, Egypt 79%, Lebanon 80%, India 81%, Syria 84%, Mauritanti 87%!

Yet: Egypt, who votes 79% against the US and receives $2 billion annually in Foreign Aid.

Jordan votes 71% against the US and receives $192,814,000 annually in US Foreign Aid.

Pakistan votes 75% against the US and receives $6,721,000 annually in US Foreign Aid.

India votes 81% against the US and receives $143,699,000 annually.

The Executive Commitee of Third World Dictatorships

Thankyou Michelle for bringing public attention to the miserable failure of the UN to live up to any moral legitimacy and their complicity in the tragic sufferring of so many. Thank God Americans don’t have to depend on the UN for anything! It is really just a place we ‘need’ to do business with the bad guys, or so my liberal friends tell me.

Reality Check on May 11, 2006 at 11:44 AM

There is one thing the UN is good for: The sale of prescription blood pressure medicine. My blood pressure goes up at the mere mention of this corrupt organization.

What will it take to get that high rent property in NY returned to us anyway?

Thanks for the VENT, Michelle. Top tier material, as always.

JP_Smith on May 11, 2006 at 11:54 AM

Good job michelle
Preach the truth
I’m rapidly joining the group that says close the UN and send it to Amsterdam or Beiijing

Defector01 on May 11, 2006 at 12:04 PM

There’s nothing that can be done for the UN at this point. The corruption has spread throughout the organization. “Take off and nuke it from orbit; it’s the only way to be sure.”

Erbo on May 11, 2006 at 12:09 PM

Excellent and much needed episode on the UN’s widespread corruption.

Tom Shakely on May 11, 2006 at 2:02 PM

And to think the elite members of the left want the UN to be our world government (with non-elected leaders). Imagine president of the world, Kofi. Somehow, I get the feeling that if that were the case, we (U.S.) would be watched by the U.N. spies while the rest of the world could do as they pleased. After all, we in America are the root of all that is bad in the world (and have always been).

Rick on May 11, 2006 at 2:25 PM

I’m so fed up with that smarmy Kofi Annan and his sibilant whispers and the sly eyes. Watch his eyes. He views everything sideways; he looks at no one straight on…only out of the sides of his eyes. That’s a sign of being ‘sly’. Sly like a fox. Has an intent in mind but is ready to dissemble and duck and fill to cover his true design. That’s Kofi. Try to maintain the facade of the cultured, oh so diplomatic senior member of the UN but is greedy and grasping underneath. That’s what I get when I watch Kofi in action.

foreign_devil on May 11, 2006 at 2:32 PM

The Oil for Food program had far worse accounting problems than Enron. So when do the indictments come down?

I’ll be in the corner, holding my breath.

fluffy on May 11, 2006 at 3:03 PM

I wonder why only Catholic diocese are sued for sex abuse crimes, and not the U.N.?

KC on May 11, 2006 at 3:07 PM

I *highly* recommend buying/renting…Broken Promises: The United Nations at 60…which I happened to catch at last years Liberty Film Festival

Though I must admit that listening to Tammy Bruce’s after-screening assessment (i.e. rant…LOL) was probably the most enjoyable part of the evening.

The Ugly American on May 11, 2006 at 3:07 PM

Well done again and good job keeping it brief – you could’ve gone on for hours about UN failures, including corruption, self-serving staff, and complete ineffectuality. I especially liked Kofi Annan’s personal effort at publishing a counterterrorism policy for the world, which can be boiled down to one sentence – “When the terrorists feel bad about what they’re doing, they’ll stop.”

SOI on May 11, 2006 at 3:35 PM

I still think, ‘for the sake of their neutrality’, the U.N. should be told to move to Switzerland. Heck, we’re on the tab for rebuilding ther current building; we should agree to pay up- IF the place is ‘rebuilt’ in Zurich. Then we caqn ignore their rants (and defund them) at a distance.

Mike O on May 11, 2006 at 4:01 PM

I love that pic of Kojo in his hyper-cool shades.

Alex K on May 11, 2006 at 4:07 PM

RE: Dervish’s comment:

Is it just me or do you feel sorry for Michelle’s hubby when he ticks her off? :)) (Mind you, the rest of the time, I think he’s one lucky guy ;-)

Mike O on May 11, 2006 at 4:12 PM

The UN is not just corrupt and ineffective, it is dangerous to the United States. Under the control of a group of dictatorships, the UN spends much of its time blocking American initiatives and interests, while serving as a forum for anti-democratic and anti-American propaganda.

When the US is in danger, as it now is from Iran, among others, the apparent purpose of the UN is to stop the US from taking action in self defense by giving veto power over American actions to countries like Russia and China.

We need to recognize the danger to America that the UN poses before our submission to its phony authority causes us to suffer an avoidable attack.

Without US money and membership, the UN would decline into the insignificance it so richly deserves. We need to be out of there before it acquires even more power to harm us. Paying our enemies to oppose us through the UN is a good definition of masochism.

Orcaswa on May 11, 2006 at 4:33 PM

Plus, all the UN thieves are protected by Diplomatic laws while being limo’d around the big apple.(or driving drunk with a ‘Kennedy like’ free pass).
They’re all thieves. Kofi is an absolute thief! A disgrace to all of humanity. It blows the mind that he is still there. But then again…not anymore, it just makes one shudder to think that he’s a LEADER???
Doesn’t he have enough money/food/perks hid away somewhere to hold him over by now? I hope he gets caught, but Diplomatic Immunity just might free his criminal ass.
Most was covered by the rest of you above, except the rebuilding of the UN and exorbitant expenses…. It asks for $100,000,000. (one hundred million) just for the architecture drawings, I believe. And 1.6 BILLION to re-do the house of cards ( race cards, get out of jail cards, free food for oil cards, etc)

“As the biggest contributor to UN finances, the US government is expected to pay for 22% of the estimated cost of rebuilding works on the East river.”
Trump told congress he would do it for $700 million, and make money at that.
Kick ’em all out. As long as we cant spy on them anymore, get rid of ’em.

shooter on May 11, 2006 at 6:01 PM

Outstanding Vent Michelle! I loved you exposing the sexual perverts and the idiots at the U.N….yeah right, human rights and protection. It’s like they honestly think that the wolf guarding the sheep is a good thing and we don’t realize it. Nice touch with the broom at the end too.

stacyharp on May 11, 2006 at 8:01 PM

Good Job, again as always.

Are there any plans for releasing transcripts of Vent episodes? I know several individuals who would be grateful.

solitas on May 11, 2006 at 8:47 PM

I agree that a transcript would be good. We can email links of the video to people w/ video capabilities, but we can mail transcripts to more people.

I think that it is neat that this site is sort of a Michelle Fan club, but I hope we are serioiusly trying to get the message out. Michelle is doing the research, condensing the message, making a video. We need to get it out. Send links of the video to your senators and representatives. Send them to your friends. Teach them to your kids to use in the government class papers.

This country is in a war and we are being attacked on many fronts: By Islam, by our old Cold War buddies, by Mexican opportunists who have lost all respect for us, and our worst enemy – a network of wolves in sheeps clothing in this country trying to bring down everything sacred we stand for. Heck they aren’t even trying to pretend to be sheep anymore.

This country is a democracy and we are in a civil war, being fought primarily with words, ideas, falsehoods. Our children are being brainwashed in the education system all the way through college. Those not in education are being brainwashed by the media.

The old media is the British fighting in Redcoat formation, and we are the patriot minutemen shooting from the woods of the blogosphere. We need to take a no holds barred approach to get the truth out, or our children will inherit a country in Chaos destined to be another fractionated continent like South America, Africa, or Europe.

Sorry I strayed off topic, but this vent about the UN is just one of many that we must take and amplify to anyone who will listen, who can vote, who can influence legislators, shape policy, and shape our society. I’ll get off the podium now…..

CountryDoc on May 11, 2006 at 9:40 PM

My pet name for the United Nations:

“The United Nations Debate Club”

The only real differences between this and some high school debate club’s “mock UN conference” are that the money is real, and the consequences of their ineptitude are real.

Mark Jaquith on May 12, 2006 at 1:34 AM

I loathe the UN, too, but America will never withdraw from the organization nor will we throw it out of the country. The attitude in certain circles of our government is probably one of digust for this corrupt organization, but at the same time a recognition that it’s better to stay involved on some level lest the kooks totally take over and use the UN to form some supercoalition that could threaten the United States.

jaleach on May 12, 2006 at 1:56 AM

Disband the UN,sell the building and use the funds for the southern US border

Hellpig on May 12, 2006 at 7:34 AM

Excellent post!

Ditto, CountryDoc, a million times. The first great war of the 21st century is for hearts and minds and it is being fought in the media.

When the smoke clears if it ever does i think we will find the Clinton’s footprints all over this criminal oil for food debacle.its no wonder that the UN and our criminal democrat party were adamantly against the iraq war!!

rpower57 on May 12, 2006 at 11:51 AM

Dear Michelle, just love Hotair.

Well like is a better term but you get the idea! However, keep the web site up-to-date or get someone else to fill in for you! I’d like to see the web site succeed yet it could be a bust and the whole idea of a conservative video news outlet would have to be born again somewhere else! With all that’s happening in our country and in the world, it shouldn’t be too difficult to keep Hotair current. It’s almost like it’s become a tiger and you and your crew are all riding it! Getting off once is doable yet risky, twice probably not in the cards!

DougW on May 12, 2006 at 4:34 PM

It is now 5:38 PM EST and no new vent.

Are you guys OK over there?

This morning it was reported that a tornado was spotted near Washington, PC.

The False Dervish on May 12, 2006 at 5:42 PM

Hi viewers – Bryan and I went on a special field trip today. Vent will be up shortly and I think it will be worth your wait!

Washington, PC? That’s a great comment, even if unintended!
It’s appropriate too, regardless!
