I’m guessing that behind the scenes Israel has been promised something closely resembling extortion if it didn’t join the US in paying the monies to Hamas. Thank our State Department which still runs on the premise that throwing money at problems solves them. Or keeps belligerent pychos from being funded by other belligerent pychos.
If Israel’s wallet is open,it’s because the hand and arm holding the wallet is being twisted.
I have an idea-rather than allow Jordanians now declaring themselves “Palistinians” to bother Israel, use economic sanctions against Jordan, forcing it to come pick up and care for their unruly citizens, since they obviously can’t take care of themselves. Maybe our State Department could bribe Jordan.

Why is the media (including blogs) covering the daily rantings of the crossed-eyed f***nut from Iran?

It is almost as if the media is enjoying building up the confrontation to a point where Iran will be unable to back off and where Israel or the US will be forced to retaliate.

Michelle, why no mention of Israel’s replies to this moron’s threats? VP Peres has made two determinate statements of the consequences to Iran should it continue along its suicidal path of taunting a nation far stronger than itself.

One: Peres said Israel is far stronger than anything Iran and other likeminded can throw at Israel and nothing in the Middle-East’s history will argue otherwise,
Two: Peres said that if Iran constinues threatening destruction, it is facing its OWN destruction.

Two perfectly reasoned replies to threats being made against it but have not been widely publicized. Why, Michelle? Care to start another line of thought?

What people need is to feel our leaders have everything under control and part of the reassuring process is to keep the morale of the populus strong. To be constantly threatened about imminent destruction here and there, and watch as our leaders say nothing because they think they are taking the moral higher ground. Bunkum. The average Joe in the street on our side wants tough responses to the threats,if only to boost morale.

Our word is apparently worth nothing. We said ‘no money until Hamas recognizes Israel and their right to exist’. So what happened to that????

The US is turning into a wimp, sissy, whiney, good for nothing. If we cannot keep our word on this, and hold back this money from these terrorists, then what good are we???

Do we actually think all of this money will go to food, hospitals, doctors, salaries? Of course not, it will go to the ‘security forces’ aka terrorists, suicide bombers, rocket launchers,…

Leftist defeatism knows no borders. This is the way of the left to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Israels current government, like the US Democratic party, is the most left ever. Such would be the way of America if the Dems get to shut down gitmo, clog our courts with civil rights cases for the terrorists, and (Kerry said it!) give money to N. Korea and send nuclear material to Iran. Is it my imagination or is Peretz so socialist that he actually looks like Stalin?

Well, just when withholding of money from the idiots running Palestine was starting to have an effect, both Israel and the United States backed down and opened the money gate again, giving the Palestinians no reason to tell their newly-elected terrorist Hamas rulers to begin behaving like civilized people. Remember, the Palestinian people elected these idiots, so there should be consequences. Supposedly there were, until consequences began working. As of now, anyone that thinks ANYTHING will EVER change in that part of the world is an idiot, like America is, to keep funding both sides. We have literally lost our minds.
