Iran’s President: Israel a “Cancer”

More of the same love and peace from the Hidden Imam’s self-appointed forerunner:
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said that Israel “one day will vanish” as he ramped up his anti-Western rhetoric in a speech to university students in Jakarta.
In response, the IAEA’s Mohammed ElBaradei strives for “compromise” with Iran over its nuclear weapons program. Really. Compromise. That’s what he said.
The head of the U.N. nuclear watchdog welcomed on Thursday moves to avert possible U.N. sanctions against Tehran over its nuclear programme and appealed for compromise as Iran’s president said he was ready to talk.
Iran’s president talks. A lot. But he only talks compromise with the credulous IAEA/UN crowd. When he’s just talking, you know, among friends, he’s a little less compromising.
Last October, the Iranian president declared that the Jewish state should be “wiped off the map”.
In April he said that Israel “cannot survive” and that migrants to the Jewish state should go back to where they came from.
Back to ElBaradei, running interference for Mahmoud:
Mohamed ElBaradei, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said he was pleased the U.N. Security Council was holding off from sanctions against Iran as Europeans work on a package of benefits to induce Tehran to cooperate.
“I’m very optimistic. I hope both sides will move away from the war of words, I hope the pitch will go down, I hope people will adopt a cool-headed approach,” he told a news conference at Amsterdam airport. “We need compromises from both sides.”
“I hope that at this stage we will use more carrots before we think of using sticks,” he said. “It is a very good idea that the Security Council is holding its horses.”
Lot of mixed metaphors in there, indicating a confused mind. And he’s confused on the war talk, too. The US isn’t talking war; we’re letting the Europeans try and we’re giving the UN time to
screw it all up get off its butt act. It’s Iran that sends letters of ultimatum to us and threatens to wipe Israel off the map. The war talk is very one-sided.
