Ahmadinejad: letter was an invitation to convert to Islam

Wholly perfunctory, says Robert Spencer. Just getting his theological ducks in a row before he gets down to business. Not unlike Tom Hagen asking that producer to give Johnny Fontane the part before putting the horse’s head in his bed.
From the CSM piece on Hizb ut-Tahrir that I blogged a few days ago:
“[W]e would carry Islam as an intellectual call to all the world,” says Abu Mohammed, a pseudonym. “And we will make people bordering the Caliphate believe in Islam. Or if they refuse then we’ll ask them to be ruled by Islam.”
And after that? Abu Mohammed pauses and fiddles with his Pepsi before replying.
“And if after all discussions and negotiations they still refuse, then the last resort will be a jihad to spread the spirit of Islam and the rule of Islam,” he says, smiling. “This is done in the interests of all people to get them out of darkness and into light.”
Assuming Spencer’s right, I wonder which group will be enlisted to deliver the “horse’s head.”

Update: Students in Indonesia — the “moderate” Muslim state — are in raptures over Ahmadinejad. “”There’s not a leader in the world like him. I am so proud.”

Well, if Ahmad-idiot’s letter is stage one, then some decisions must be made. My decision? It is better for me to be a martyr for Christ than to be a fool for Allah. Any day of the week.

Iranian leaders are madmen too, of course.
Iranian Ambassador to Iraq Hassan Kazemi Qomi said here Wednesday afternoon that Iraqi leaders were of the view the letter sent by Iranian President Ahmadinejad to his US counterpart provided an “excellent initiative.”
Qomi, talking to IRNA, said that in his meetings with a number of Iraqi political leaders and statesmen, they were of the view that the letter sent to George W Bush showed the wisdom of Iranian authorities.

Ya’ know…these people are morons. I am not condemning the whole bunch, before anyone gets crazy here, but think about this jerk for a bit. He rants like he is the second coming of Hitler, and then he offers an olive branch. The guy is nuts. Be afraid of him and his ilk. His kind were crazy enough to take down those towers and kill thousands in a matter of minutes…(it has been said that they got a lot of bang for their buc) but my opinion is he needs to be taken out before he does what Hitler did to Europe. Religious fanatics are loony enough to succeed in their mission…and we, as a people, are still sleeping or just thinking they can’t possibly go up against this great nation. They are here, within our borders and are working to destroy our way of life. Their mission is to hate and to destroy. We need to be vigilant and I am all for taking him out as soon as possible.

The media and blogeshere is all abuzz over the first direct communications between a US President and the President of Iran. So what does it mean? A diplomatic overture? A chance to open discussions anew?
Or is it something else?
While the main stream media fawns over a chance to open dialogue with the rogue state, Islamic annalists like Robert Spencer and others see it in it something sinister.I won’t go into the details of the letter but from what I heard and read over the last 48 hours, it seems the letter has 4 basic parts.
1. A call to Islam for Bush
2. A list of grievances against America
3. A notice to the Islamic faithful of the communiqué and it’s contents
4. A declaration of war
A declaration of war you say? What do I mean?
To answer that you need to follow the process that Islam uses when preparing to take over a non-Islamic country. President Ahmadinejad is only following the Islamic playbook and gives the West and interesting insight of the standard operating procedure that an Islamic declaration must follow before an attack.
First, it must call the infidel to Accept Islam since in traditional Muslim belief it is only Islam that guarantees “monotheism, worship of God, justice, respect for the dignity of man, belief in the Last Day.” This is what the first part of Ahmadinejad’s letter does. The second part lists the grievances the Islamic nation has against the soon to be attacked country. The third part is necessary to inform the faithful of the “whats” and “whys”. In a Hadith, Muhammad tells his followers to call people to Islam before waging war against them.
* “Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war…When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these, you also accept it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them….If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya [the tax on non-Muslims specified in Qur’an 9:29]. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah’s help and fight them. (Sahih Muslim 4294)”
And finally, if the infidel does not accept the rule of Islam, then they must be converted by the sword.
Is this a warning of an attack upon America by Iran in some form or another?
Muslims when waging war against infidels will have to present the invitation to Islam first. Osama bin Laden did the same thing. If that call is ignored, then the attack begins. Ahmadinejad is following the same course as Muhammad.
* “We increasingly see that people around the world are flocking towards a main focal point – that is the Almighty God. Undoubtedly through faith in God and the teachings of the prophets, the people will conquer their problems. My question for you is: “Do you not want to join them?” Mr President, Whether we like it or not, the world is gravitating towards faith in the Almighty and justice and the will of God will prevail over all things.”
And you know what Almighty he is referring to? Allah.

We’re all cordially invited to join the death-worshippers in slaughtering everyone, everywhere, who isn’t Islamic enough, so as to bring all the many and varied blessings of Sharia law to your immodest neighborhood. If this guy is making the obligatory invitation before loosing the guns, then they must be farther along with nukes than we think. I think we should send the ‘horse’s head’ before he has a chance to.

I hate to say it, but I’m thinking more and more I’ll see a nuclear conflict in the world before my time is up. I really don’t trust those Iranians. Unfortunately, I think whatawhackjob really means the stuff he’s spewing about Israel being carried away by a big storm or however he worded it.

The attack was begun many years ago. The beaches have been softened deep into our heartland. Russians, communists, French, socialists, “entitled Mexicans”, and left-winged sabatouers of our operational structure are all allies. We need to wake up, people. This war is about whether this country will be under the authority of God, of men, or of the rule of Islam. The allies are disjointed and confused about the cause of the war or its meaning. But they are untited in thier vehemence against those of us who are trying to live by the logical principles of our Creator. They (including Hillary, Fox, the president of Iran, Putin, Gore, the Times, WaPo)want America and its dreams and ideals dead. Be better identify ourselves, get organized, and begin a plan of counter-attack.

Since showing the souls of one’s feet is considered a serious insult to Muslims,* I have to assume your photo of Ahmadin-i-jihad on the front page is a fake… but then again, maybe it’s precisely in line with his Dear Infidel letter.
*I learned this stray factoid in the book Infiltration, by Paul Sperry. Avoiding showing the souls of one’s feet/shoes to a Muslim is one of the really, really important things FBI Director Mueller is teaching FBI agents in sensitivity training sessions.
