Iranian nuclear holocaust: funny, yet sad

posted at 12:40 pm on May 4, 2006 by Allahpundit

Flood-the-zone video coverage of Iranian belligerence over at MEMRI TV right now. The two latest clips are must-sees. First, the Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Dancers perform “Quest for Fire!”, a jazzy choreographic tribute to nuclear Judenrein. Note the production values; it looks like a school-pageant performance of “It’s a Small World After All.” Click to watch.

Next, here’s the Iranian military’s chief of staff calling America a paper tiger and estimating that our firepower is only 20-30% of what we claim. I sure hope we don’t kill this guy someday and make him a martyr.

Update: Upon watching the first clip again, I should note that it’s actually much, much worse than what you’d see at a school pageant. Sorry, kids!

ZZZZZZZ Huh? Oh. What? Huh? I’m awake, I’m awake. 5 more minutes, please ZZZZZZZ

Makes for great white noise.

How did the members of the audience (some of whom look like reporters) manage to keep a straight face? If this were a 3rd grade pageant in the states, one can picture the parents of the little thespians feigning coughing fits as they hurry (lungs near bursting)to the exit doors whereupon they explode into uncontrollable laughter.

On the surface, I wish I could take this as mostly propoganda, ala former Iraqi Information Minister Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf.

Unfortunately, I think it is probable that they would leverage the sensitive manner in which the U.S. wages war against us. The Iraqi’s had some success doing this, because they know that the U.S. would never unleash the full savagery of our power against them (I am talking non-nuclear here).

Therefore, I cannot dismiss their willingness to do what needs to be done, though I can discount our own willingness in the similar circumstance.

It may look ridiculous to us, but maybe we just aren’t picking up on the symbology.
Germany 1938. Iran 2006. Led by dangerous and possibly insane egotists. Keep your eyes on the ball-don’t be distracted by mediocre theatrics and hand flourishes. If Iran 2006 turns out to be as great a threat to our civilization as Germany under Hitler, we must be ready to do what is nessesary to protect us.

I say we all chip in and get this guy a nice, big glass parking lot for Christmas.

The crowd of dignitaries looked as bored and uninteretsed in shouting Islamic slogans as I was.

The guy is in need of some serious medical help. The video is really much to silly to even comment on. The Nazi Army could not defeat us, nor could the Japanese….what is this man thinking?

The “skit” looks like something straight out of Mel Brooks’ “History of the World” movie.

I guess – he thinks as far as the American military might is concerned, it’s all in our heads.

I think he should think about the fantasy in his.

I felt like I was in a bad dream… I was a judge on the Gong Show and had no mallet.

And then there is General Malaise with his shopping list of home-grown weaponry and pretense of military intelligence… definitely bunker-buster fodder.

So very glad that the Soviets found a warm place to live after being ejected, temporarily, from the USSR! Their folk art lives in Iran, V. I. Lenin would be so very proud!

Also, I’m quaking on my boots because these Iranian generals found out our great weakness, that we’re all media and no bite! We’re doomed!

That guy has been watching too much AlJazeera.

Many people, world over, assume that since they buy most of their electronics from Asia, that the United States is weak in modern technology. Truth of the matter is that most of the advanced technology that is now being commericalized was developed over 25 years ago in different US military programs. It is a great deal easier to do high-tech now, but the machines that make chips are primarly built in Silicon Valley and Japan. With Asia providing first rate comsumer electronics, it allowed engineers in this country to work on defense technology, second to none. In fact, the second most powerful military in the world would be everyone else put together. Iran is a joke that plays for the home crowd.

How do the Muslims get around the fact that all of their “research” is based upon work by Jewish scientists from the early 20th century? It must give them a hollow feeling.

Highplains on May 5, 2006 at 1:27 AM

Oh, Creator of Worlds! How much of that can even you listen to before you go all Sister Mary Elephant on them?

Pablo on May 5, 2006 at 6:15 AM

Isn’t that Jeff Goldblum!!! When did he move to Iran? I know he hasn’t made a good movie in years, but this is a little nutty. Oh, silly me he’s an ACTOR.

dallas94 on May 5, 2006 at 8:40 AM

…Jeff GOldblum!! HA!!!!!!!!!!..who needs to turn on the TV with these camel jockeys to keep us laughing. Dallas, that was just plain funny!

While Russia continues to support Iran because of its commercial interests, it should be well remembered that the first people Iran will hand over the nuke to will be the islamists in Chechnya and in that event, bye bye Moscow.

I, for one, won’t shed a tear when that happens.

The way the game is beginning to play itself out in the Security Council we have everyone on board bar the two re-born ultra-capitalists of this century, China and Russia.

Since both are opposed to any strong action against Iran, and Russia is actually building the plants, I foresee a future in which Iran may become largely self-sufficient on nuclear electricity and will then be able to use its oil reserves as bargaining chips and blackmail against the West to force action on Israel.

The simple truth is this: people with greed in their eyes i.e. China and Russia who want to amass wealth now and say stuff the future, must be protected from themselves.

It looks like the West will have to force the Iranians via force if need be to put an end to the stand-off with a very third-rate third-world country.

I don’t what we are waiting for.

On the lighter side, anyone know if the mother of all broadcasters, oh impartial-of-impartials, Al Qaeda, oops my bad, Al Jazeera TV station, carried the ‘performance’ of the Ahmadinejad troupe.

Probably not because it did not involve the kidnapping of a hostage or a beheading or some Israeli soldier firing at terrorists in Gaza.

Iran, 3000 years of history and this is the best they can do?

Great White on May 5, 2006 at 7:19 PM

Iran “flexing” it’s muscles to the United States?
What garbage. After getting their butts kicked by Saddam,
they think we are the “weak” ones??

gary on May 6, 2006 at 9:36 AM

Was that Video produced by 5th graders? I can stand on stage and yell to my heart’s content too.. Here’s the analysis: Islamists always underestimate the military power and fortitude of the west. They can scream their prophets name all they want, the truth is they will rattle the sabres and then run and hide. Iran has no idea what they are dealing with. I plead to the educated people in Iran to stop this nonesense! You are balancing on a mushroom cloud. Your government is checking all the blocks for a first strike initiation. It may be two years down the road but it will happen. It’s your funeral! Please.. for the children.. stop it now! A nuclear Iran is not an option. Regardless of what anyone may think.

reflexx on May 7, 2006 at 2:43 AM

Gary, we can thank the lefty media for giving lran the impression that we’re weak. On the bright side it may make them overconfident.

This is the same regime that sent lranian children into the mine fields ahead of the army to clear a path during their 8 year war with a country that we defeated in 3 weeks.

What are they smokin’ over there? Pages of the koran?

Velvet Hammer ’08!

The two previous posts above are right. Iran is a country that harks back to a time when it sort of controlled a small area of the middle-East but a summary of its ‘proud’ history is an embarassment.

Someone mention to the camel-shaggers if they remember the little battle they had with the Athenians (circa 450BC) when one million Persians where defeated by, wait for it, 300 Greeks! And, got a good whipping too!

Then the Crusaders happened by and smacked them around. Then the Brits, then Saddam, etc etc. Basically, their war history proves they are a bunch of limp-dicks in battle and since they are incapable of winning a conventional war, the nuke is their salvation.

We must ensure they never get the nuke. Write to your representatives, senators, phone them, do whatever it takes to make your feelings known that you do not want to see Iran in possession of a nuke.

Great White on May 7, 2006 at 4:27 PM

The White House needs to instruct the CIA to take out Ahmadinejad on the grounds of national security. The man needs to be dead. Hopefully that will stop the whole program at the cost the life of the most worthy one to die. Then the word will be made clear to the rest of the Iranians with similar ambitions, the same fate awaits them should they try continue with the program.

Send in the assassination squads now.
