I have noticed a repositioning by the mainstream media on the Spanish anthem story. Now they’re pointing out the instances (especially conservative) of use of Spanish words in the national anthem. Either they’ve accidentally due to incompetence or purposely to mislead confused the issue. The Neustro Himno of late is not our national anthem sung in Spanish. It is our melody with their words. MSM stories are about our melody and our words, sung in Spanish. That is a big difference.

An overwhelming majority of 77 percent said there are plenty of Americans to fill low-wage jobs if employers pay more and treat workers better; just 15 percent said there are not enough Americans for such jobs.

So, when John Kerry said we needed 10 million new jobs, were those for the illegals?

One of my favorite Army buddies in 1969 was a Mexican fella who became legal the old fashioned way. He and I struck it off, because we were both from Kingsville, Texas
and could share memories of our hometown. Tales of good
Mexican food would whet our appetites on numerous occasions
and our foiled attempts to create those delicacies among the oriental foods available were disasters.
He became a butcher for Kroger. I became a construction engineer. We gave to our country. Illegals have given nothing compared to he and I. And no one should expect or
state they ever will. It takes more than a willingness to earn a living in this country. One has to be willing to SERVE this country.

It’s time to stand up to the common wisdom (and odds) that the backlash will or should affect the House more than the Senate. The real culprits are in the Senate: that is where we should take our revenge.

Why punish the House, when they have basically done the right thing? Re-elect conservative Congressmen, and abstain or write-in America-first protest candidates (Tom Tancredo, JD Hayworth, etc.) in Senate races. Let the Dims have the Senate – the Republicans haven’t done much with it. A split to purge the RINO Senators might just be the best we can do at this point. The stalemate would be preferable to amnesty.

i never get polled. i don’t know anyone who ever HAS been polled. i wish someone would call me! on another note, we need to write our representatives to tell them how we feel about this illegal alien bull**** that is going on – heck, it worked with that absolutely ridiculous $100 rebate our republican senators wanted to give everyone to “ease the pain at the pump.” now, that is dead in the water because sooooo many constituents wrote/called/emailed/faxed to tell them how utterly STUPID that idea was.
ARRRGGG!!!! will someone please get some b**ls up there in washington?????

In my opinion, the May 1st rally on campus at Cal Poly Pomona, which is smack dab in the middle of the debate, was a fizzle. The college republicans plan a counter rally next week. Hopefully, this backlash will develope and they’ll be able to draw more students.

Back when I was in college in the 70s – god, was it really that long ago? Oh well – the big fear of the liberals was the impending year 1984. They believed that the US was set up and ready for Big Brother and that 1984 was upon us. Remember, Nixon was in the White House then.

But 1984 passed with out peep and now we find ourselves seeing the Left taking a page directly out of the book that they feared most. If you remember, the main character Winston Smith worked for the Ministry of Truth and was tasked with re-writing history. That Ministry was also responsible for the Newspeak dictionary.

Re-writing history is a favorite of the Left. They’ve been doing it for years. The rants of MEChA are just their latest attempt. It always amazes me how people accept the trashing of historic fact. But I guess that’s the result of the systematic destruction of our public education system over the last several decades.
