Back on the air

Sorry for the outage. Our server had been creaking for days under the traffic from Michelle’s site and now this one, which is getting more daily hits than we’d anticipated before launch. Drudge delivered the coup de grace yesterday afternoon when he linked her post on the reconquista reporter.

These problems should be behind us now that our tech wizard, Mark Jaquith, has moved us over to what he says is a much faster server. It may be a few hours before everyone can see the results, but by this evening we should be running on rocket fuel. E-mail us if you’re experiencing any glitches with the site and we’ll try to resolve them ASAP.

Michelle,

Great problems to have. Any wait is worth the great content of MM and Hot Air. My Blog could be served from a Commodore 64. LOL. Keep up the great work and may the hits just keep a coming.

Glad all is well. I didn’t sleep very well last night not having my “Hot Air” fix. I’m much better now that you are too.

I am glad the problem is too many hits – being popular is a good thing.
The video does not play smoothly for me..but I’ll wait and see if its gets better

I can hear you now

Ropera on May 3, 2006 at 9:18 AM

No worries, Michelle!

You are one of the few women in the world worth waiting for!

The fact that you have so many hits only proves that you have many fans who want to hear from you and want to read your postings, and along with Allahpundit, Mark Jaquith, Bryan, and the rest of your team, your sites are the necessary ammunition that is needed against the enemies of our country.

I will try the video later on and will let you know of any difficulties encountered.

When I got home late last night, I discovered I could only get the Home page…. I went into withdrawal, started shaking and foaming at the mouth – I needed my fix…

I’m much better today. Thank You!!

I was assuming the worst, another Islamic DDoS attack.

whew..I thought it was another islamofascist DNS attack! Good problem to have so soon after launch tho!

Hey Wade,
I had a Commodore 64, and even though I remember it fondly, I’d have to say that it would take hours of “Peek” and “Poke” programming just to get it to output the graphic “[BLOG]“. But hey, attach a 1541 to that jesse and you could really serve up at least a couple of posts! Ah, the good ‘ole days. Oh, I still have the C64 by the way, works great, though I believe the 1541 is shot. Alas….

Glad to see you’re back

Um, I got over a thousand hits on my personal blog, which averages 0-1 readers a day =), via a comment I made several days ago. If this was a tech site, we’d call that a slashdot effect. Is there a term for it when Michelle does this to you? A Malkin-blast?

Moto Oda on May 3, 2006 at 2:33 PM

I think the term typically used is a “Malkinlanche.”

Glad to see the site back up and running. It’s quickly become my favorite little slice of the web.
