TV Newser is taking suggestions. The lamer the better, judging from the submissions thus far.

Is this really that hard?

How about Rather-Not-Tell-The-Truth?

The False Dervish on April 28, 2006 at 10:14 PM

“Good Evening. This is Dan Rather. Where we don’t wait till retirement like Walter Kronkite to show our liberal bias.”

or

“National Enquirer has proof dinosaurs still exist. And now you can read his blog online.”

or

“I Dan Rather invented the blogs!”

The irony of Dan Rather writing a blog is too funny.

Gunga Dan? What’s the Frequency, Kenneth?

Oh, my sides!

jaleach on April 28, 2006 at 11:45 PM

jaleach,

Oh, my sides! Lol — maybe it’s just late but that cracks me up.

wytammic on April 29, 2006 at 12:02 AM

Frequency 5150.

(That’s the California W&I code for “mental.”)

Dopey Dan, the cBS man.

Khyber Pass on April 29, 2006 at 12:40 AM

This is Dan Rather and I wish I were A man rather that A wimp.

birdman on April 29, 2006 at 12:43 AM

wytammic,

Oh, my sides! is a favorite comment of mine I often see in online amateur movie reviews. It usually follows sarcastic comments made about any element of the film that didn’t work the way the makers intended, or a comedy bit in the film that fell flat.

Oh, my sides! could be the title of Blather’s blog, though, since the load of lard he’ll try to pass off is bound to elicit guffaws. If our heads aren’t exploding from the sheer banality of it all, that is.

Nice to meet you here, by the way!

jaleach on April 29, 2006 at 12:46 AM

Hi, Dan Rather here……welcome to my new blog: “How to lie, believe your lies, and think you’re good at it”

This is just toooooo easy….”Gas Bags on the BLOG” C’mon..does anyone think this jerk can be a success after that last little faux pas? And, to be honest, do the liberals really need another mill stone around their necks? This is going to be such fun to watch….talk about splitting sides…it is such a shame when these old has beens do not know when to get off the stage. My sides are killing me, already.

Oops! I SWEAR I didn’t see the “Fake But Accurate” at the top until just after I made my post above. You do believe me? Don’t you? Don’t you? Heh…heh.

pjcomix on April 29, 2006 at 6:40 PM

I believe you pjcomix! I didn’t see it either and was gonna say it too. I was thinkin’ “l can’t believe nobody said Fake But Accurate”.

Dan Rather blogging is like a Cessna pilot, no, a *balloonist* flyin’ the Space Shuttle.

Why do libs need blogs (or talk radio) anyway? There’s no demand for it. They already have the papers, the networks, the glossies and all of the cable channels (except Fox, which IS filling a demand).

We all predicted Air Anti-America would fold, now it looks like we were right. (Can’t stay in business if you need to be subsidized). The same thing will happen to most liberal blogs, except for the really far left wingnuts.

“As Seen On TV”

“Hi, I’m Dan Rather. You may remember me from such hit shows as ’60 Minutes’,’The CBS Evening News with Dan Rather’, “What’s the Frequency, Kenneth?” and ‘Gunga Dan’ About now you’re probably saying, ‘Dan, I’ve seen every whacked out left wing nutcase blog on the net, what makes yours so different?’ Good question. But before I get to that, I want to fill you in with the lastest from our confidential, and I stress confidential, source, insider if you will, at the heavily guarded Bush compound in Crawford, Texas who has show this reporter new information, starting information, which will . . .”
