MSNBC praises Hot Air!

posted at 2:08 pm on April 26, 2006 by Michelle

Don’t tell Chris Matthews, but there’s actually a nice review of Hot Air on the MSNBC.com site:

Speaking of online video, Michelle Malkin has launched a conservative (anti-liberal?) video blog called Hot Air. Whether you agree with her or not, this is really well done. Look for the liberals to pursue something similar, in which case, I have to wonder how cable news will respond. A few people in the comments have remarked that Fox News will try to hire Malkin after they see her vlogging, but why should she switch when it looks like she can out-Fox Fox? If she’s open about her perspective, expresses herself well and provides links to relevant content, I think that’s better than TV.

Guess they don’t know that I am a Fox News Channel Contributor. But the kind words are nonetheless appreciated.

Much better than calling us “crazy rightwing nutjobs.

:)

Look for Fox news to hire Michelle?

Uh, hello?

Not that I ever want to see you anywhere other than Fox, here, on your website, and in the NYPost (hey, you’re everywhere), but if MSNBC ever wanted to get, you know, actual ratings, they’d be wise to put you on.

Forget CNN, they’re a lost cause.

JammieWearingFool on April 26, 2006 at 2:27 PM

It’s not as the liberals don’t have active blogs. They just call them funny and unique names, like “West Wing,” “Law & Order,” “Commander-in-Chief,” and “Boston Legal.” And for the kiddies they had “Captain Planet.” And did I mention other liberal blogs like the NYT and the LAT?

Khyber Pass on April 26, 2006 at 2:27 PM

Got to be a screw up in their reporting….or maybe one of their anchors decided to play a joke…not like MSNBC actually has an audience now does it?

Terlizzi999 on April 26, 2006 at 2:31 PM

Who the flaming hell cares what Chris Matthews thinks? He demonstrated how brave he is not by journalistically ambushing Michelle, and by trying to pull the same stunt on Zell Miller (notice how Matthews was a safe distance away when he tried to bully Zell Miller).

But, you are right, Michelle, the kind words from MSNBC are nonetheless appreciated even though the only time to watch MSNBC is when Monica Crowley is on. When Monica is off, then is the time to IMMEDIATELY switch back to Fox News Channel!

Thank God for Bill Clinton and the VChip. That station is blocked for my own good.

Perhaps MSNBC, like any other business, sees the wisdom in increasing consumer confidence in their product. The steady decline (and eventual extinction) of old media is obvious to all but the most oblivious observers. Singce the influx of the new media and the resulting exposure of patriots in the arena of ideas, the silent majority in america has more choices when it comes to media consumption. I doubt this is lost on the old media (and what i call ‘neo-old media’ newer media outlets using the same leftist journalistic template as the old media) and they realize the need to update their product to an ever increasing information savy consumer.

MSNBC? What is this “MSNBC?” Never heard of it…

wccawa on April 26, 2006 at 3:50 PM

It’s the thought that counts

That would be MSNBC with the lowest Neilsen ratings of the news channels, but the youngest demographic. Go Michelle!

Chris Matthews’s brother is running for Lt. Gov. here in Pennsylvania — how’s that for bizarre?

MSNBC Is correct for once. But even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.

Chris Matthews? Doesn’t he host softball or some such??

MikeG on April 26, 2006 at 5:05 PM

No not softball noballs ops typo, maybe its rollerball. I finally got its toilet ball. I knew I would finaly remember.

birdman on April 26, 2006 at 5:23 PM

After the way Matthews treated Michelle and was a safe distance away when he tried the same stunt with Zell Miller, the program is definately NO-BALL, if you get my meaning.

The False Dervish on April 26, 2006 at 5:28 PM

Chris Matthews? Doesn’t he appear on some show called Hardball? Who knew there was a show on MSNBC about making candy? Does Martha appear on it? But what does candy making have to do with politics?

chrisknits on April 26, 2006 at 5:34 PM

You ask what does candy have to do with politics chrisknits well after all Chris Matthews is a politcal pundit and he is sugar and spice and well you know what I mean

birdman on April 26, 2006 at 5:56 PM

Oh, the insufferable Chrissy Matthews on MSNBC is an irritating has-been. A bit long in the tooth. Didn’t the former Fox News gal, Rita Cosby, take a credibility hit when she hooked up with MSNBC? I don’t watch PMSNBC (as Rush calls it) nor CNN.

doingwhatican on April 26, 2006 at 7:22 PM

I’m sorry, MSNBC? Who?

If the Left-O-Sphere tries to mimic Hot Air, you know that a. it won’t be funny, just the normal seethefest and b. it will tank just like Air Deadbeat.

William Teach on April 26, 2006 at 7:57 PM

Isn’t Airhead America bankrupt? Al Frankenstein sure lined his pockets, though.

doingwhatican on April 26, 2006 at 8:24 PM

“Look for the liberals to pursue something similar…”

If they do, it will give Michelle more material than she can ever use.

Air america lost one third of its fan base over the last year down to two people now

birdman on April 26, 2006 at 8:43 PM

Michelle, Dah-ling
You have a super winner here. Been reading since you put it up and from the first day I was overwhelmed with joy! This is going to be hot, hot, hot! Love it that MSNBC seems to have coined a word:vlogging.

auspatriotman on April 26, 2006 at 8:53 PM

Well, that is great coming from MSNBC. Think they are getting the hint, or just looking for a new twist to promote their liberal agendas by borrowing your brilliant idea of Hot Air?

Keep up the good work!

Just a technical note here but I am noticing that the new articles featured on Hot Air are NOT appearing in the RSS (Bloglines) Feed updates.

pjcomix on April 27, 2006 at 6:40 AM

Hey Michelle and Allah:
A few of my acquantances who have visited here has noted similar probs such as pjcomix noted. May a tech assistance page with regards to the requirements for using the sites resources would go a long way to resolving most of the tech issues some users are having. Just a thought. Keep up the good work.

There praise is backdoor.

“a conservative (anti-liberal?) video blog called Hot Air”

The anti-liberal comment is out of line and discredits the article, just shows they begrudgingly said anything nice.

Maybe someday you could post the video of Mathews as he welcomed you (Michelle) to his show. It is nice liberals (anti-Conservatives?) have manners and are tolerant. The Mathews video demonstrates such behavior… OH NO! What am I thinking, it was President Bush who make Mathews act as he did.

Wade on April 27, 2006 at 1:16 PM

The Revolutionary Communist Partys newspaper Revolution has Ann Coulter as number one as the top Nazie, Bush is way down at the bottom, Limbaugh is not even on the list very soon I belive Michelle Malkin will be number two. Coulter and Malkin the two most dangerous monsters in the country, excuse me but I think my head going to explode.

It’s definitely good to see that MSNBC isn’t completely irrelevant, despite their poor specials and mediocre reporting.

While on the topic, though, why don’t you have your own show on FOX News yet?
