And yes, the Dems are just as corrupt (if not more so) than the GOP – they just don’t have as much opportunity at this time. “Absolute power …” etc.

We should remind ourselves that even John Walker Lindh, who actually took up arms against the United States in Afghanistan, was not charged with treason.

This “culture of treason” permeates the government. The State Department and CIA are filled with Rosenberg wannabes. McCarthy no doubt considers herself to be a martyr for the left. the lefts continued assistance to our enemies will continue to flourish due, in part, to the aiding and abetting of the MSM. While the left’s hold on media information is steadily eroding, it still has some punch. Consider the fact that sandy burger stuffed potentialy incriminating evidence against the clinton administration down his pants and the MSM gave him a pass. Sure the ‘new media’ created quite a stir on the issue. But he still got a pass. It is worth noting that had this happened 15 years ago, it would have barely been a blip on the media radar screen. So americans are indeed making inroads against the 5th collumn MSM. But there is still a lot of ground to be covered. And hotair.com is a fine addition to blogs and talk radio in americans taking back america.

The new low is the claim in Newsweek that her confession can’t be used in a prosecution because it came after she took and failed a voluntary polygraph (which itself couldn’t be admitted). This is not just wrong, legally, it is without any basis or rationale. This view is ascribed to an anonymous source. I have never heard of getting views of the law from anonymous sources. What is going on here is to try and persuade McCarthy to not roll and cooperate. It appears that it may constitute conspiracy to obstruct justice. It would be nice to get some indictments and pick up a nice load of WP staffers.

I agree with you. Mary was not the only leaker and she knows the identities of other leakers (George W Bush, Richard Cheney and Scooter Libby). I watched the Juan Williams bit in context on Fox News Sunday. You can always count on him to parrot the Demobrat talking points no matter what the issue. This diatribe was outrageous, even for him. There’s no question Juan is pretty far out there on most issues, but I don’t ever remember the whole of the panel jumping on him as they did with these outrageous statements. Even Mara Liasson, his compatriot from NPR, seemed stunned at the over-the-top justification he gave for releasing highly classified information. Scary indeed, silenced majority! If someone in the military ever released information of this nature, they’d be spending years breaking rocks at Fort Leavenworth, no matter how strongly their conscience led them to it. I’d like to believe this won’t be the last leaker found and fired, but I sincerely hope that all of them do hard time to go along with it. Political leaks are one thing, and even Kerry seems to dislike them (hard to tell for certain…his lips were moving), but there is absolutely no rationalization that can justify unauthorized release of classified information pertaining to a pending or ongoing operation during a time of war. So, what are the chances we’ll see any of these criminals in jail…in an election year? Don’t hold your breath.
