We’re live! Welcome to Hot Air, the world’s first, full-service conservative Internet broadcast network. Tune out Katie Couric and tune us in.

Go to the “About” page to find out why we launched this new venture (blame, or rather, credit, goes in part to Al Gore and Bill Maher for helping to inspire the company). You’ll also learn how to advertise; join us as an affiliate, stringer, or employee; and what we use to produce this site. Special thanks to The Blog Studio for the design, Cox & Forkum for the Hot Air mascot, and Mark Jaquith for his technical assistance.

“The Vault” houses archives for each of the three content sections of the site. “Gear” is our shop where we sell stuff.

“Vent” is the daily video newscast. It’s delivered in Flash (Version 8) format. Download a Flash video player here if the video doesn’t automatically play for you.

“Top Picks” are the best and hottest blog/news/video/audio/photo items of the day as determined by the Hot Air staff. We separate them out so you can find them nice and quick.

“The Blog” is, yes, the blog. From politics to culture to the War on Terror and beyond, our staff will post on what the blogosphere’s buzzing about–or should be buzzing about–24/7/365.

“Hot Links” is our eclectic list of cool and creative people, pioneers of all political stripes, and resources at the Internet/broadcasting convergence.

“Blowback” is our comments section. You can join in during our limited registration period.

Finally, for those still relatively new to the blog world, you’ll notice little orange buttons at the bottom of each main content section. These will take you to our Feedburner RSS feed pages. Basically, it’s a simplified way for you to get new content from Hot Air (including video and audio) sent to you automatically. Learn more here and subscribe now! We’ll have an iTunes subscription option up shortly.

And now, on to the show…

Breaking on Hot Air

This will be my first and last stop everyday.
Good Luck.

RoyalOak on April 24, 2006 at 7:57 AM

Where do you find time to do all this?

Oh… and I am very glad you do.

Answerman on April 24, 2006 at 8:25 AM

Fantastic, Michelle!

pappy on April 24, 2006 at 8:31 AM

Great stuff. Congratulations on this new venture!

A note for Mac Users like me: initially I could not get the HotAir video to play, even though I had Flash 8 installed. Eventually, I used the link provided above and re-installed Flash 8, then rebooted my Firefox v. 1.0.7 browser. Now the video is loading very fast & smooth under Firefox, and it’s even working with Safari v. 1.3.2 — although Safari is slower.

Great Site. Best Wishes. This is exactly what I discuss with my graduate marketing students when talking about the new world of information. I tried to explain that to the manageing editor of the local newspaper once and he could not understand that there was change even happening. I will be putting this site on my daily read list.
Agian, my Best Wishes,

Michelle, you are the epitome of the Army of Davids thesis, eloquently articulated in this post.

Congratulations on another on-target smooth stone!

David on April 24, 2006 at 9:46 AM

Looking good!

This should be fun…

lplimac on April 24, 2006 at 9:58 AM

I’m very excited for you Michelle! I appreciate your efforts to hammer leftists and those squishy Republicans who do not address the reall issue that will destroy this great country faster than terrorists, namely illegal immigration. I pray our Democrat friends who truly want what is best for our country can debate us straight up and not allow this site to degrade to name calling and excessive vulgarity.

Only one question: what took you so long?

Seriously… this is an excellent idea, and the site looks great. Best of luck on this endeavor!

wccawa on April 24, 2006 at 11:26 AM

This will surely be one of the Seven Wonders of the Web. Looking forward to visiting often. Congratulations to you and your staff on getting this excellent new venture up and running.

pistolero on April 24, 2006 at 11:43 AM

Tuning out Katie Couric would require that I tune her in first.

One of the rare times I long for the old days of televisions with dials so I could break it off to prevent Couric from blighting my living room.

Laurence Simon on April 24, 2006 at 11:49 AM

Great idea! I’ll be sure to keep an eye on this, and put a pointer up on EMinds.

Incidentally, I’m pleased to report that the video does work on Linux (Mozilla 1.7.6 with Flash plugin 7.0r25 on Fedora Core 2), though the main voiceover track seems to be entirely over on the left channel. I can hear the background beat on the right channel, though, so I’m guessing it may not be on my end. Was this a production thing, or am I the only one hearing this?

Erbo on April 24, 2006 at 11:54 AM

“Mommy, why did you paint that wall green?”

I love the chutzpah of the new site. Thanks for starting it.

Sterling on April 24, 2006 at 11:56 AM

Michelle, you ROCK!!! I look forward to watching you daily. May your lite shine and the darkness disapear. Take care and God bless……..

azdan on April 24, 2006 at 12:35 PM

MSM suits believe they can safely ignore you and the blogosphere as just Hot Air. They only look at their numbers vs other similar MSM media, TV vs TV, Newspapers VS Newspapers, etc. Meanwhile back at Reality the demographic they all chase with the $ are searching their way here. Keep leading them Michelle, soon MSM will wonder where their numbers went.

Reality Check on April 24, 2006 at 12:41 PM

Brilliant idea, beautifully executed.

hdw on April 24, 2006 at 12:47 PM

Excellent move, Michelle! I really appreciate this opportunity to bring balanced, non-biased objective balance to this debate with non-biased liberal commentators…

aw, jeez… I can’t stop laughing. That’s a hoot. Whew… Let me try that again:

I really appreciate this opportunity to bring pointed, scathing, conservative viewpoints to this debate with all the unhinged moonbats out there. Thank you for making this a reality.

Becki Snow on April 24, 2006 at 12:49 PM

kimsch on April 24, 2006 at 12:57 PM

Love the site. Hate Flash 8 as a delivery mechanism. The trend is for video to be portable. Why not use MP4 and distribute via RSS? Is there a reason Flash 8 was selected? Is there a chance in Hades that you guys will be distributing content in MP4 for the iPodders like me?

opinari on April 24, 2006 at 1:14 PM

opinari — Bryan, our video expert, tells me we’ll have MP4 for the iPod junkies amongst us. Not sure when yet, but stay tuned.

Allahpundit on April 24, 2006 at 1:29 PM

Thank you so much, Michelle. With my Dish network, have no ABC, CBS, or NBC junk cluttering up my TV. You are indeed a national treasure.

dixie68 on April 24, 2006 at 1:31 PM

Great site and terrific broadcast, Michelle!

Wryly and superbly executed!

Looking forward to dropping by for a long, long time!

Jack Deth on April 24, 2006 at 1:32 PM

Also found your new, exciting venture through Lucianne.com. I concur with all the comments above. Will be checking in regularly. Good looking site!

C4Miles on April 24, 2006 at 1:51 PM

I’m sooooo glad to see this up and running by people grounded in reality! Liberal ideas only work when there isn’t any competition.

Of course, now this means that I have even less time available during the day to get my work done.

skfabc on April 24, 2006 at 1:57 PM

Great job!

RightAllAlong on April 24, 2006 at 2:01 PM

Allahpundit – Many thanks for the reply. Just a suggestion: make sure Bryan, video expert, makes the files available as an enclosure via MP4 (for those of us who addictively use aggregators to provide us with our content.)

Great site, and keep up the good work.

opinari on April 24, 2006 at 2:03 PM

aaaahhhhh finally a newscast from my point of view :)
good luck and godspeed to all involved

May Hot Air rise to the top of the blogosphere!
And kudos to Michelle for continuing to speak the truth and shame the liars!

Doug on April 24, 2006 at 2:16 PM

Hey Michelle,

I wonder what that professor who accused you of employing a ghostwriter will say now? Using a body double?

Carvin Guitar Man on April 24, 2006 at 2:21 PM

Don’t tell me Al Gore invented this too!

Now if I could just get the people I work with to open their liberal minds to the truth.

Thank You for being there Michelle, this country needs
more like you.

Gooch on April 24, 2006 at 2:21 PM

Thank you Michelle, for all you do for us.
Found it, registered, put you in favorites, thanks!!

norman on April 24, 2006 at 2:27 PM

Darn you Michelle! Now I have to make my “honey we really need high speed internet” pitch to my wife again. Maybe if I give her flowers…

Gemjim on April 24, 2006 at 3:07 PM

Didn’t you love it Michelle, when one of the father’s of the heroes that died on Flight 93 said ”and they want to kill you too, Katie” to our favorite September 06 CBS Kewpie Doll Katie Couric?

FatherofInternet on April 24, 2006 at 3:07 PM

I’m waiting for the left-wing blogosphere to start complaining that they’ve been pushed out of cyberspace by HotAir the same way conservative radio talk shows have pushed them off the airwaves.

withoutfeathers on April 24, 2006 at 3:08 PM

Oh my gosh! This is going to be hot! It is an honor to be (presumably a charter) part of the roster of Hotair commentators.

My only complaint to wit is that the site seems a bit clogged at the moment. I am having to reload some pages two or three times just to get them to show up, but there are far worse things than growing pains.

This could be one of the biggest things to hit the net since the Freepers! Go Hotair!

gryphon202 on April 24, 2006 at 4:32 PM

Lady Jane on April 24, 2006 at 7:46 PM

Heard about the venture from LaShawn Barber’s site. Read MM’s blog every day, now must stop here.

I’m surprised there’s over eighty comments and no one has commented on the site name. Hot Air is set up for jokes by the leftists, perhaps the site name should be “Chill Wind” instead. After all, this site must be stifling their speech somehow….

ScottG on April 24, 2006 at 7:51 PM

Michelle—Congrats on the new project. I really enjoyed your online videocasts interviewing Cindy Sheehan and also about the illegal alien demonstration. Little did I know that all that would develop into this great project. And now I have LESS reason to watch regular TV. This is MUCH MORE interesting!!!
