3…2…1…

We’re live! Welcome to Hot Air, the world’s first, full-service conservative Internet broadcast network. Tune out Katie Couric and tune us in.

Go to the “About” page to find out why we launched this new venture (blame, or rather, credit, goes in part to Al Gore and Bill Maher for helping to inspire the company). You’ll also learn how to advertise; join us as an affiliate, stringer, or employee; and what we use to produce this site. Special thanks to The Blog Studio for the design, Cox & Forkum for the Hot Air mascot, and Mark Jaquith for his technical assistance.

“The Vault” houses archives for each of the three content sections of the site. “Gear” is our shop where we sell stuff.

“Vent” is the daily video newscast. It’s delivered in Flash (Version 8) format. Download a Flash video player here if the video doesn’t automatically play for you.

“Top Picks” are the best and hottest blog/news/video/audio/photo items of the day as determined by the Hot Air staff. We separate them out so you can find them nice and quick.

“The Blog” is, yes, the blog. From politics to culture to the War on Terror and beyond, our staff will post on what the blogosphere’s buzzing about–or should be buzzing about–24/7/365.

“Hot Links” is our eclectic list of cool and creative people, pioneers of all political stripes, and resources at the Internet/broadcasting convergence.

“Blowback” is our comments section. You can join in during our limited registration period.

Finally, for those still relatively new to the blog world, you’ll notice little orange buttons at the bottom of each main content section. These will take you to our Feedburner RSS feed pages. Basically, it’s a simplified way for you to get new content from Hot Air (including video and audio) sent to you automatically. Learn more here and subscribe now! We’ll have an iTunes subscription option up shortly.

And now, on to the show…

Congratulations, Michelle. Good luck in this new venture. I’ll be visiting often.

Physics Geek on April 24, 2006 at 11:56 PM

Congrats, Michelle!

This is a beautiful site and I’m sure
it will be very successful. It’s a great
joy to see a strong conservative viewpoint
in this format on the web. We need it,
so keep up the great work!! :-)

A very impressive debut, Michelle!

As I do with Powerline, LGF, Wizbang, CQ, HH, and of course, MM, I will be checking in here several times a day!

Thanks for all your efforts!

Dev on April 25, 2006 at 1:13 AM

Nice site, hope it does well!

ImperialCrusader on April 25, 2006 at 2:31 AM

Congratulations!! This site will certainly make the liberals become more “Unhinged”. Great book, by the way.

Thanks for bringing this to us.

Michelle – As a believer in the value of incremental change and baby steps the Leapers still always catch my eye and own my heart!

Thanks for a great LEAP of fairh

sugarplumsweetypie on April 25, 2006 at 5:50 AM

Had enough of left-wing media! Great idea indeed!

freya4freedom on April 25, 2006 at 8:27 AM

Noticed many that are leaving cable TV (MSM broadcasts in general) etc. – I’ve not turned on a TV in about 15 years now… and I miss nothing, not one ounce of hot news. Radio and the Internet provides me with more news in 5 minutes than the boob-tube can (or does) in 5 days.

This is going to up the ante for the MSM – they’re dead already – but this hastens the burial greatly! I just love it!

Congrat’s My Dear. A toast to the New Media!! Kickin A$$ and taking Names!!

Fandango on April 25, 2006 at 9:47 AM

Congrat’s on the launch of your new project. It’s been a great 24 hrs of “real” news so far. This is going to drive the moonbats crazier than they already are!!!!!

Lonely MA Republican on April 25, 2006 at 11:20 AM

Michelle, congrats on the new site. A breath of fresh air. The conservative world is alive and well. Living in a liberal bastion you provide some needed sanctuary when needed. Not to mention a whole lot of truth and common sense. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Michelle, this is fantastic. Keep up the great work. Much appreciated.

It took me a while to find this page. I was curious to read the first post EVER on Hot Air. Wish I knew about this place when it first launched!

I can remember waiting with baited breath for the first “Open Registration” to jump in feet forward!

Congratulations Michelle, Allah, Ed, and to the past bloggers Brian, Ean (sp?), and all the rest.

Happy belated anniversary! My how much has changed.

ajfederation on April 26, 2010 at 2:56 PM

I come 4 years from the future and bring you news!

FontanaConservative on September 11, 2010 at 8:59 PM

Come back Michelle. We miss you.

Kataklysmic on February 1, 2012 at 3:29 PM

Yes we do.

Bmore on June 24, 2012 at 3:30 PM

We really do.

Bmore on June 24, 2012 at 3:31 PM

And then some.

Bmore on June 24, 2012 at 3:32 PM

I saw you pick up my link. I was just practicing. You gonna be a lurker or let me know who you are? Hmmmmm………

Bmore on June 24, 2012 at 4:59 PM

Never mind, its your job, you’re a link chaser for the site. Cool, sorry. ; ) Hope you enjoyed. ; )

Bmore on June 24, 2012 at 5:50 PM

P.S. Delete all these comments if you have a chance. Thanks.

Bmore on June 24, 2012 at 5:51 PM

Still picking up my link I see.

Bmore on August 16, 2012 at 10:21 AM

Still? Geez, who the heII comes back here to these old threads…………………never mind.

Bmore on September 19, 2012 at 12:47 AM

Wow. The inaugural post. The primordial thread. Where it all began.

It’s awe inspiring, and humbling – like traveling back in time to the garden of Eden, or the Big Bang.

RINO in Name Only on February 17, 2013 at 8:04 AM

I recognize almost none of these names. Reality Check, tony737, Physics Geek, are all familiar names, though I’m not sure I really ever talked to them. This feels very sad – have they all moved on? Were any of them … banned?

This place, wondrous as it is, suddenly feels lonely. So, so overwhelmingly loney.

RINO in Name Only on February 17, 2013 at 8:07 AM

Huh? Bmore? Is that you? What are you doing here?

RINO in Name Only on February 17, 2013 at 8:09 AM

Ok, you know what? This feels wrong, and a bit scary. I better get back to the present day before I make some comment that alters the course of hotair history.

Oh my God, what if I already have??!! What if something I just said causes another commenter to have a slightly different perspective on things, and therefore make slightly different comments himself, in turn influencing everyone else’s thoughts and words and actions in future threads, until in one thread, a flamewar that didn’t happen before happens, and gets so intense that Michelle has to shut down the blog, and Hot Air ceases to exist???!!!!

That’s it, I’m getting out of here RIGHT NOW!!!

RINO in Name Only on February 17, 2013 at 8:16 AM

See.

Bmore on February 17, 2013 at 10:26 AM

Ok, now that I established mathematically that Dire is the antichrist, rather than Bmore as I originally thought, I feel safe enough coming back here. Nothing bad happened last time, anyway.

Test for Bmore, to see if you are truly monitoring these old threads as closely as you suggest: reply to this comment as soon as you see it.

Better hurry; clock’s ticking!

RINO in Name Only on February 17, 2013 at 1:38 PM

Better hurry; clock’s ticking!

RINO in Name Only on February 17, 2013 at 1:38 PM

No these I don’t spend much time monitoring. There safely stowed. Lol! ; ) Plus, I was out with the better half for a bit.

Bmore on February 17, 2013 at 5:20 PM

P.S. If I monitored every old thread I have stuff hidden on it would be a full time job. ; )

Bmore on February 17, 2013 at 5:21 PM

test

DarkCurrent on June 2, 2014 at 4:38 AM

Hah! Just wanted to be able to say that I posted on the very first thread on Hot Gas. A few years late, but better late than never.
